Hi there Nick Just checking in to add a couple of techniques I use, The small retaining nut on my 97 is fixed in place, by degreasing both surfaces, nut and trigger housing, then key it with a sharp scriber and superglue in place, did this 5 yrs ago and it's never moved despite many rebuilds. This 97 was bought as an R&D gun so been retuned many times. I use a piece of 6mm steel bar with smooth rounded off edges with a piece of leather between it and the end block, snug fit and easier than trying to whack a round punch. I also removed the so called anti bear trap bit of tin rubbish, having no faith in it for the reasons you clearly stated, and if you're out hunting I like to decock whenever I want to. My 97 has been stripped so many times I can undo the end block by hand, On retightening it I use a sportsmatch AB3 arrestor block over the dovetail of the join to keep it aligned, works perfectly, Just my 10 cents worth 😂. To get the end cap off, I used a largish spanner, sandwiched between a piece of leather and wedged into the slot but, even then, I had to go at it with a lump hammer. Very, very tight.
I have a brand new HW 97 KT and I’m noticing the compression tube has a little play when the rifle is cocked and also the rifle does not make that noise in the compression tube when you close the underlever, I do not know if that is normal for the new ones or it’s something wrong !!
Re-watched this video to see if you (Nick) mentioned the other fact that seems to not get talked about and that is the 77's barrel is 37cm i.e. 7cm longer than the 97's. Therefore my query would be does that extra length make any difference, good or bad? The reason for my curiosity is that I also have TX200 39.5cm and Walther LGU at just under 12cm and I'm unable to really tell!!
I would like a 77k or 97k with open sights and simultaneous working scope mounted also a silencer thread plus synthetic thumb stock and marine grade steel. 🤗
Hi Nick I have a question I have a HW97 and on the housing on the front of the barrel where the cocking lever clips in there is a roll pin that is poking out is it ok to tap it back in?

Pretty much all the videos I made in the last eleven years are out of date!😂
@@tbtairrifletuning1520 Appreciated 👍
Thanx mate, great video, will be using these guides to check out my own hw97, thanx
Cheers Nick, clear and precise no bull**** 👍
Just in time too as my tbt kit arrived today also.

Well that looked easy,even with a dodgy shoulder. : }
Can you please show me how to replace tension spring in the cocking arm?
I already have an hw50s still wondering if I should be an hw97k too.
You should, and a hw30!
Thank you for the tips Malo Aloha…💯🤙🏾
Enjoying it!🤠👍
Thanks 👍
Nice videos, but why are your videos so low in volume, much lower than other videos on yt. 🤔
I hadn’t noticed. I will try and find out…..

The only real difference is balance and ease of cocking with a longer lever
Great vid once again Nick. Many thanks
Glad you enjoyed it

Yes, should be fine👍
Thank you also the chain lube you use is it for motorbike or pushbike chain lube
Any need to consider from which side the trigger unit pins are knocked out? Right or left?
Some say the pins come out easier one way, I haven’t found this to be the case👍
Who did you bluing ?
Paul Chell, but I believe he has retired now?
I thought the ultimate springer was the tx200 or pro sport ;)
TX200 is a HW77 with a centralised breech and piston bearings. ProSport is a TX200 with the cocking lever pivot at the rear.
I've had tx200 and prosport and they works of art but still preferred my 97
@@jamiecox776 Me as well.
@@jamiecox776 Is there a reason why? I've been hearing this a lot.
A ‘canal find’. Ten grades lower than a ‘barn find’. Nice turn of phrase.
Have this with one of your 29 turn springs... very sweet to cock and shoot...gives about 10 ft/lbs
Hi Nick, how much was removed when you lathed inside the moderator to bring further back, looks great.
It was a long time ago. Just enough!😁
