Between Bottas winning, growing a beard, the to whom it may concern radio message and Ricciardo actually losing his wings, this race was a breeding ground for memes.
Fernando Alonso and Sergio Perez finished 19 times 7th Felipe Massa finished 18 times 7th and Hulkenberg 17 times Hulkenberg did quallify the most times on 7th though, 24 times!

He actually had better start than Russell and he was on harder tires, then Gasly had to avoid Norris and turned left while Kubica was on his rear wheels level and with that he cut Kubica's front wing and put it straight under his floor which got damaged. Later Kubica with damaged floor, previously repaired front wing replacement and without one mirror was on pace with Russell but he already lost over a minute to him. If not for Gasly then I guess Robert would finish ahead of Russell or close to him, but it doesnt take away anything from Russell who did good job. What is sad is that british media try to paint picture as Russell who is doing great stuff and beating Robert. If you look at picture of entire race and times then you realize that what you just heard from WTF1 was piece of BULLSHIT.
ofeknice Google "2019 australian grand prix chart" and go to racefans.net page and check the graph with lap times (you can choose only Robert and George). Especially between lap 30-40. He had damaged car, a lot of blue flags. Also, he didn't have one of his mirror, so he lost even more time with blue flags. Also the fact that he was starting with Hard compound and that it was changed on his 1st lap pit to medium shows it was more testing than racing. Also he (and also Russell) did one more pit than needed... It shows that it wasn't really race, more of a testing session.
