    Thanks A LOT for this video since I love this serie from Mexico and I have some of these stamps among my Mexican ones. I didn't know the fact of the chance of facial value so I was definitely triggered so I looked through my Mexican double stamps I a found one with a different value (agricultural machines), so I added to my collection! Thank you so much! You can find a similar story in the stamp of the Weimar Republic (Germany) whose currency, the Mark suffered a huge inflation in 1923. At the beginning of the year the basic stamp worthed 5 Marks, at the end 50 Billion of Marks. Once again stamps are teaching history! :D

      They are teaching history! I had no idea about the inflation in Mexico as well... and only while researching did I find out and also look through my collection before finding VERY different values on some of the stamps... Its an awesome find but it taught an interesting lesson. I think the German inflation stamps are probably the most dramatic and famous... 50 Billion Marks is just crazy.... ( I might or probably will be doing another episode that touches inflation this season ;) Thanks for watching Stefano! :)

    I've been collecting classic Mexican stamps for a while but I've also been accumulating these Exporta stamps so getting the background was really interesting

      Glad you found it interesting! I think a lot of us have a few of these stamps here and there, but I never really appreciated them until I researched the background... Now I value and enjoy looking out for them.

    A favorite series of stamps for me as well. The graphics are just great and the varieties of watermarks, papers and perfs over the years keep them interesting. Would be cool if we had a presentation of the Mexican souvenir sheets for the Olympics...

    I found this series many years ago when it was still being produced (sometimes in the eighties). At that time, I I was traveling in Mexico and any large or small town I would stop by the Post Office if they had one and would buy them by the sheet. Eventually I became an accumulator/collector. I still have them and many others from Mexico. I've been retired now and how recently been thinking of pulling them out and working on my albums. Glad I found your video......nice to see someone else in love with these. I've loved this series from the first day I saw them. Thanks again.

      @ExploringStamps  6 лет назад +2

      Wow Gerry, thank you for sharing that. To hear that you were collecting them by the sheet when they were still being issued is proof that these stamps really are special. Please do pull them out and work on your albums, having actually acquiring these stamps in Mexico at the time just adds to the story, thank you for watching :)

    Excellent video (as always) on an excellent series. (They're also great for learning Spanish vocabulary, since there are so many topics and items featured.)

    • @ExploringStamps
      @ExploringStamps  5 лет назад +1

      Oh definitely. Words such as Zapatos, mezculla, Fresas all jumped out as useful Spanish Vocab to know... the only stamp that didnt provide a new Spanish word for me was Tequila...I seemed to know that one already. ;)

    This was a nice little blast from the past! When I was 8, I recieved a number of the shoe stamps in a block or strip (I forget which, I'll have to look). I had no idea that there was such a big story behind them. Muchos gracias!

    What a beautiful stamps! Really interesting the inflation on the stamps. My country, Argentina, had some problems with that. Now I am going to look my collection searching this thing.

    • @ExploringStamps
      @ExploringStamps  6 лет назад +3

      I wonder if you can see Argentina's inflation through postage stamps similar to Mexico... something I will keep a look out for.

    This is why I don't like the modern trend of stamps without a numerical face value: it's always interesting to see the inflation through the stamps, particularly during periods of hyperinflation.

    I'm currently going thru my 30 years of accumulating these. An interesting study with the watermarks or non-watermarks; different perforations and papers, and of course the 'echelons' being the diagonal lines on some of the values. about 150 in all I think.

    I recently received a bunch of these from my aunt who was getting rid of all of her stuff. I was intrigued by the different face value on the stamps. Your video just solved the mystery for me, thank you so much. Is there a way to find out how many different stamps are in the series, or any other series for that matter?

    By the way, some of these Mexico Exporta stamps had wavy lines printed over them, do you know what that means?

    • @ExploringStamps
      @ExploringStamps  5 лет назад

      Good question, I can only assume it was to indicate a different issue with a new face value. But I could be wrong.

    How many stamps are there in this series???Are they available online

    • @ExploringStamps
      @ExploringStamps  6 лет назад +2

      This is a great question... I do not know the answer as to how many there are. This is a very challenging series to collect them all, since this series ran for so long, there are so many variations in paper, value, design... If anyone knows the answer, please reply and let us know! Yes you can find these online through ebay or other stamp outlets.
