@@David.L291 No probs Dude, I backed Big Bucks with chunks of cash, he was my ATM, I won £17,000 from his whole career, his prices at Cheltenham were so backable, was nervous and excited watching him run but my faith in him was 100% even when I had £800 on him in the 2009 world Hurdle @ 6/1, machine.....
@@markperryman1797 ha that's a great bet at 6/1 over 5k profit, I couldn't dare try that amount on nowadays, at this moment in time many things in my life are a mess, 2 years ago my life wasn't great but it was much better being with my Dad who sadly has recently died and my love and work life is awful right now too but great you won all that money and I hope you had good fun with your winnings, well take care and good luck
What a commentary by Richard Hoiles - excellent ! This is why Hoiles is the best commentator now on the UK circuit - word perfect ! Super - just hope Ch4 do not ruin him with their increased coverage !
As time as gone by I've come to appreciate and realise what a special horse Denman was, In 2008 he was the better horse of him and Kauto Star no doubt. The performance he put in the 2008 Gold Cup nearly killed him, He was absolutely relentless. We'll be waiting to see a performance like that for years to come from now. What a era Kauto and Denman brought us though. Stable companions and two of the best the NH as ever seen... As for Sam Thomas I agree 100 per cent, He was magnifcent that day
I took my son racing for the first time that day, he was 10 at the time. I said to him the night before, "Tomorrow you can go to school, or come and watch the horse racing with me". Needless to say I had to phone the school to leave a sickness message. It was a miserable, cold damp day as I remember. I had £25 on Albertas Run @ 10/1 in the Ryanair, only to get done on the line by Riverside Theatre (son had £5 @ 11/4). He was buzzing, I was just shaking my head. Luckilly I had a decent bet on Bucks and a tenner on the forecast, so the day ended up in profit. My abiding memory will always be the look on his face when he saw the crowd in the stands from the rails for the first time, he thought there'd only be us and about 50 other people.
8 days after this i had the sincere pleasure of a Paul Nicholls stable tour, and Rose (BB groom) really has no idea just how good he is, there isnt a 4 legged beast to truly challenge him so the team dont know what hes ultimately capable of, they had to be twee and respectful of opposition, but deep down they knew this was a banker, he was NEVER going to get beaten - the greatest staying hurdler in history, as gutsy as QV is, she'd find this 1 better on the day - but Ruby loves them equally
What a ride from Ruby Walsh....He could have gone for it 3 out knowing there were real class horses waiting but he got it absolutely spot on. After watching the race several times, one must give tons of credit to Andrew Lynch for his ride on the second; town halls of steel. Love my NH racing...All the best.
Nicholls stable tours are awesome, to be rubbing the noses and long faces of true equine megastars is a super feeling, 'millionairres row' just as you enter the yard is a brilliant sight, just mind out for Denman, hes not for patting, and has a fierce head butt to swipe away any hands going in for a nose rub !
It might just be me but... WHAT a race voler la vedette ran here. Sailed past all the field bar BB and almost beat the great one! Very under rated at 20/1 andI was on the forecast at 25/1!! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
Great horse big bucks voler la vedette had a good run too would not be surprised to see her run in the Champion hurdle or the albertt barlett novices hurdle Olbg mares hurdle for 2013 is a big chance a quite obvious i would back quevega TW and voler la vedette EW
Big Bucks and Quevaga will be the only 2 horses im backing at cheltenham next year there the only 2 that win everytime and i cant see anything getting past them
@XLadyClaireX i was dissapointed by oscar whiskey as i so wanted him to be up there at the finish with big bucks but sadly not meant to be this year, maybe another time but god only knows why they don't put big bucks in the gold cup, i bet he'd win that too
A lot depends on the ground...i'd say Quevega could be put in the race now Big Bucks is out & if she ran i'd betting on her. There is also a chance Grands Crus could be put back in but on what we have seen lately if the ground was soft Reve De Sivola looks decent ew value.
gutted big bucks is out of the world hurdle. just shows you how fragile these great beasts are. i onl hope he can come back and have another crack at this race although there has to be a doubt whether he can hit these great heights again. what bbig bcks absense does do is throw the stayers race wide open?? with no obvious candidate ready to step up to the plate, its anyones race. id love to see quevega go for it
I got 10/11 with Stan James online! he was drifting because Nicholls horses were not running very well, that said he won 2 championship races as Rock on Ruby won the champion hurdle.
thank god colm murphy had the mare in 2nd that sort of form ,,,,,,,,,,, she made sum race of it ,,,, and i loved the andrew lynch switched her before the last ,,,,, but what?????? still couldnt beat the mighty BB
How are you not watching this #2023 absolutely brilliant commentary to boot
You can keep Frankel, give me Big Bucks every time. What a horse.
i disagree because they are both true champions
@@David.L291 of course so true
@@markperryman1797 oh so great to get a reply :)

Best Stayers Hurdle there's ever been. Depth was incredible for a division that is so often an afterthought.
Thanks again Big Buck's!!!!!

God that was so much more exciting than watching Frankel and Black Caviar, as much as I love watching them.

A super horse because he was a hurdler never really got the praise he deserved.
good win for big buck
The good old days kauto star, and big bucks what more could you want
Maybe the best WH ever run
The horse in the red and blue reminds me of dessie !!!
Thousand Stars who retired recently.
Big Bucks and Quevaga will be the only 2 horses im backing at cheltenham next year there the only 2 that win everytime and i cant see anything getting past them
I have always wanted to know why there is an apostrophe in Buck's. Can anyone enlighten me?
Bucks looked booked for 2nd 1 out

Is there any horse that travels 3m so comfortably like Big Bucks ?. Comfortably ?. Not sure kauto star does it quite the same way .
