Finally, someone created content like this the tags "top 10 apocalyptic movies" "best apocalyptic movie" never works.. I have watched all of them without even looking it up but this one is the best. I've seen 2 of the movies here but the rest is unheard of. Thank you!! You just earned yourself a sub!
The Road is most likely the most down to earth exposure to the reality of a fractured humanity and the struggle to survive in a withered world. The man's sceptical outlook on others mirrors the boys humanity in a hellish backdrop that is hard to forget.
THE ONLY PROBLEM THERE WAS, HE NEVER PREPARED THE BOY MENTALLY AND EMOTIONALLY TO BE TOUGH EVEN IF HE KNEW HIS TIME WAS SHORT. THEY BOY'S SOFT AND FEARFUL BEHAVIOUR IS NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO HAVE IN A TIME LIKE THAT
The book was much better than the movie. The movie had racist things in it for example, the movie had an African American guy in it who was a thief, the book had no such character. Also, in the book the cannibals were more vicious, in the book the cannibals had an infant roasting on a spit. They cut that out in the movie.
Dude..this is the best list ever..all the other lists in youtube are giving me the worst lists ever...i am shocked i have never seen any one of these movies...damn...you my friend deserve a sub...good content bro👊👊👊🙂
@@ben_6332 If that ending didn't hit you like a ton of bricks you aren't human haha the only thing he had left in the world was that "car" and he wanted to bury it. That "car" never let him down, didn't try to kill him etc etc. Humans can be worth less than an animal to some.
@@a.h.504 It was a good movie overall but I thought the ending was awful, (*Spoiler alert*) after all that it was just a dead animal which he could have easily replaced when he visited the doctor since she had a supply of dogs. The half-wit saved his life and helped him escape but he didn't bury him just cremated him so there was also that lack of logical consistency. Instead he has to go to all that trouble just to give some strange ritualistic burial to a pet in the middle of nowhere. One of the most anti-climactic endings ever and really let down an otherwise good movie. Just made me think that the story must be written by a dog owner who is over-sentimental about his pets.
@@Gorguruga Well the easy answer is humans fucked him over his entire life, dog was probably loyal. I know to you it was just a dog and could be easily replaced, but to him, that dog was the last companion that was his friend throughout everything that happened. The "half wit" was just a means to an end. Cremating him was purposeful, it's meant to show that he thinks less of human beings because of what they've done to eachother.
I’ve seen the colony, a for Zachariah, the domestics and the rover - all great movies and highly recommend Will definitely check out the other ones mentioned
Thanks a lot for sifting through all the non-mainstream, smaller movies on one subject in your various genre collections), so that we can enjoy your summaries and decide which one we might like. You’re doing a great job here, and I appreciate it very much! ❤
Your first two recommendations were spot on! I'll check out The Colony. The Domestics - if violence is your thing, or you're a Wisconsinite, like myself. Hidden, never heard of. The Rover is very good but will leave you asking, "why"? Your #1 pick, Hell, is equally excellent. I might throw in A Boy And His Dog for #8. Just make viewers aware that it's not totally a downer view of the post-apocalyptic world. Gotta say, good job guys & girls!! You know your films.
I like these kind of films because most lists on RUclips inlicude the classics. Which sure, can be better most of the time, but I've also seen them all haha so it's hard to find new material

I'm still waiting for the 'I Am Legend' sequel based on the alternate ending where Will Smith's character somehow survives the explosion with an intact vial of the vaccine. Good luck trying to inject the infected ;)

Some of these are really good. The problem that i have with these list is that there are actual great movies written in the 70s and 80s that they tend to forget. Movies like logans run, mad max road warrior, original Red Dawn......etc. They need to add both newer movies with older movies.
Great list, I only watched hidden from the list. Already watched almost every dystopian movie out there, but not movies on this list. I subbed, you seem to know about movies.
You should add "Aftermath" to the list. It's about a group of survivors who made it to a cellar after nuclear war to try to survive the fallout. It was really good.

Have you seen "Aftermath"? I watched it last night and it was really good especially how the beginning and the end of the movie collide.
My favorite the Colony
