It's a time saver for sure, but I just prefer to earn my gear. It's more rewarding this way. Plus, golden rod without all the angler gear and potions is still bad pre-hardmode. I wouldn't waste much time, just get the basic mobility like boots, tsunami, pufferfish and rush to WoF. You can catch up on fishing post Plantera. With sonar and crate potions getting those titanium crates is much easier.

Day 7: Guys i did a bit offscreen farming. Now i have All Accessories needed for defeating moonlord.
What do you mean? Day 7-8 you get basic mobility (puffer fish, tsunami in a bottle, sailfish boots, frog leg). This is about 2 hours of fishing, without the golden rod, btw.

@VÕ THÀNH KHANG Well, in skyblock worlds, fishing is bad at the beginning, but there's no alternative. In normal worlds, fishing is OP if done right. Get the angler asap, get fishing gear, potions, luck buffs and you can gear up in no time. Plus, some items can only be obtained through fishing, such as demon conch, which teleports you to the underworld, or wet bombs which allow you to craft lava and honey bombs and then have infinite supply of liquids. Amphibian boots is another great example.

>Me taking this personally, with about 20-25 golden crates, hours upon hours upon hours of soul draining fishing with constantly breaking reels, ZERO damnable hearts (apart from the guaranteed one from the lava island) and an anticipation of exponentially more hours of fishing to get 200 health and enchanted sword (cellphone and zenith are the victory requirements in the last version of the map)
I know the feeling man. That 2/2 heart crystals was probably the luckiest moment in all my thousands of hours playing terraria. I'd just skip and rush to plantera asap, it's a lot easier to get those titanium crates later one once you have full fishing gear and potions. Night and day difference.
@@moxusgaming6404 ye, I did basically everything available pre-hardmode apart from bloodmoon and goblins, so I have a ton of fishing gear (not the reel tho, damn angler). I decided it's best to move on without goblin tinkerer
Update: I finally got a fishing line to increase the speed of heartfarming. It took me just about 50 angler quests (my SHM achievement progress was at 90-something, now it's 147), over 5 water sponges, over 5 endless buckets, about 5 fish hooks, and numerous multiples of other MORE RARE rewardsto get this sheety fookin fish line. This skyblock playthrough has the worst fishing luck I've ever had on *any* of previous normal playthroughs. At least now I can fish indefinitely with all those potions and master baits

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. At least a few blocks of sand and sections of background biome walls should exist. This would allow a complete world reconstruction if desired. But most importantly, having the angler early on and bottles for potions would make the run so much easier. I'd probably flip it to Master mode then.
I still don't get how to read the other islands' location, does it follow the depth meter and compass? Or is does it starts counting on the surface like the middle of the world? I'm totally confused. I know that the jungle/temple/dungeon with the chests is on the left side on the surface level it is just that I really can't find the other islands.
I feel your pain. Same happened to me during this run. Tried going by the depth meter/compass and it didn't work. It's by the actual block distance from the spawn. However, those numbers are still off. And the second island is so tiny it's insanely difficult to locate. Try going down to 0 depth surface and then just placing platforms all the way to the left. You will come across the dungeon island eventually. The second island, just allocate the exact number of rope blocks for the Y coordinate (vertical), then just place platforms to the right and hopefully will see it eventually.
@@moxusgaming6404 Thank you, I even tried to go back to see the comments in the actual steam workshop everyone is just posting coordinates that differ from each other so asking someone who actually did the playthrough is the easiest way. I'm in an urge to finish this run and go play the drunk world seed because I never did it before.
you can get angler pre-plantera by making an artificial ocean me and my friend fish way too much and have 2 cellphones and you got super lucky on both life crystals
Nice! Which version of the map are you playing? Mine is 1.4, no sand pre-plantera, so can't make a true ocean without it and the angler doesn't spawn.

While this video is impressive, I do have to point out, This took longer than 99 Days.
You can tell because you said at 29:37 day 99 started confirmed by clock.
At 29:50 You can see the clock skips 12 hours taking us to Noon Day 99.
You start the Fight at Vortex at 30:33 Clock Reads 9.26PM
You start the Final Pillar at 31:07 at 3.08PM (Aka Day 100) not day 99.
Either way you beat Moonlord on Day 100

Yeah, I messed up the count at the end for sure. There was another chunk which was lost during editing. Reviewing my raw recordings, it looks like the run actually took 96-97 days. It took just under 30 hours of real world play time with some days forwarded while sleeping in bed. Thanks for pointing out! Cheers!

day 98 occultist starts at 6pm. 29:38 "we are day 99 now" nebula down at 10pm. so just 2 hours left for moon lord + 1 pillar still to kill, but oh wait magically now its 3pm for last pillar ????????????????????????
The last few days were a mess, sorry. I had to take breaks and check gear, craft more potions, etc. I thought those moments would be boring to watch, so they were omitted. But thank you for your feedback, I need to pay more attention to chronology.

the fact this man did it in 100 days I just got crystal serpent at day 278
You probably spent a lot more time fishing pre hardmode. I was lucky to get 2 heart crystals from 2 crates and most of the mobility accessories in minutes. Also, mine was a classic world so possible to advance with no Hp.

Yeah, the coordinates are not accurate. Took me a while. The easiest is to climb down a rope to the border between the caverns and underworld, then place platforms 200-300 tiles right and left of the estimated location.

Yes. The only way around it is using Halloween/Xmas season for presents/goodie bags which drop blocks that can be used to craft houses.

Cavern crimson biome. Drops from ichor stickers. Just make sure to place enough stone/dirt on both sides of the world to have Hallow and Crimson/Corruption generated upon defeating the Wall of Flesh.

There’s enough silt to get at least a few gems. Don’t think there’s any other way. If this was modded, calamity would allow you to fish in caverns to catch gem fish.
As for streams, it’s definitely happening in the near future.
Sadly I didn’t get any gems (god dam RNG how lucky I am)

Sorry, forgot to clarify. Snow gives us the biome key to unlock the biome’s chest, which contains some secret loot. And, more importantly for me, shiverthorn, to have infinite crate potions:)
@@moxusgaming6404 Crate potions are very important if you're going to be fishing; that makes a lot of sense.

The map is designed this way, it gives you solidifier at the start. But if there wasn't one, you just set your PC date to Christmas time and get solid blocks from presents that drop from mobs.

Yep, that's why you don't really have to worry about getting full HP. You can, however, bump it up to master/expert via Tedit if you want. But then may need to spend a lot more time fishing for hearts at the beginning.

Making a calamity map compatible map that allows for the abyss, sunken sea, dungeon, and many more fishable biomes to be accessed. Its still minimalist, but I like more fishing biomes to farm
I wonder if Skyblock mastermode is doable
Pretty sure it is doable, you just have to fish a lot more to make it easier. If the angler was available pre-hardmode the entire process of gearing up would be so much faster. Sleep in bed, do quests, get full fishing gear and potions, target crates during optimal weather and time of day and you could get full hp eventually, even pre-boss.
Dude has the terraprisma one of the top three weapons in the game and says it's not a summoner run
Guilty as charged, lol. Hey, in my defence, there was no gear to augment the summoner part, no extra minion accessories, no whips, etc.
your level of luck infuriates me. It took me hours and hours and hours of fishing to get my first life crystal, i think i opened like 20-30 gold crates before i got one ;-; you are the reverse of my luck sir
Yeah, that was extremely lucky, don't think I ever got that lucky before in thousands of hours of playing this game. The average should be 1 in 15 or 16 crates per heart crystal. The new Skyblock map I'm currently working on has a way to access the angler early on as well as all herbs and gems, which makes this process much easier and faster, as you can have infinite crate/fishing/sonar potions, get your high test fishing line and other gear.
@@moxusgaming6404 yeah honestly the biggest barrier for skyterra for me is lack of heart crystals, i dont like missing out on content so having to forgo certain events and such until much much later due to lack of heart crystals really bums me out, honestly one thing i was thinking about doing was modifying some of the traders for skyterra, like working the average money output of fishing per hour and the average amount of hours per life crystal and then putting that as purchasable for the dryad for roughly that price, maybe a slight markup so that if you end up getting really unlucky you can still just straight up pay for the life crystals at a slight disadvantage as you're losing all that money you earned in the process but it would probably stop me from going insane after 30 hours of fishing with no life crystals. Also i was thinking dryad since then you'd at least need to suffer a little til you got passed at least one boss. Access to the angler was another thing i was contemplating, gonna have to test both to see what works out better.

@@moxusgaming6404 in general and is there a difference between an empty world like skyblock and normal world that affects the spawn of enemies ??
@@maniacplayzyt6531 The only difference is that in an empty world, you have less leeway to make mistakes in terms of distances. So, have to be precise or the mobs won't spawn. My rule of thumb when making farms is that mobs only spawn 36-49 blocks away from you vertically (up/down) and 64-85 horizontally (right/left).

In the version I played, sand was inside one of the locked chests. Nowadays you can get it early on, just find the last island.

him entering hardmode in thirty days and it took me with 2 other friends around 26 tries; i suck at terriaria
To be fair, coop runs with friends are more fun and take a lot longer. You also face bosses that have more HP. Skyblock is challenging in a sense of figuring out where to get resources, but other than that it's fairly easy and quick, as the world is empty and you can build all your arenas and farms on the fly.
How to get trees growing also grass dirt block? :0
Dirt is renewable using dirt bombs. Grass can be forced to grow using the Staff of Regrowth, which can be obtained from Jungle crates. Trees are tricky. If the EoC hasn't been defeated yet and you have no Dryad to buy acorns from, you only option is to make a surface jungle biome and let jungle trees randomly spawn, then you replace jungle grass blocks with forest grass blocks right below the branches of the trees and then chop those branches off. Rarely, but these branches can produce an acorn.

how do you get more stone?
You get infinite stone from gem trees. Gems from silt. Silt from the second island. Furnace from the merchant when in jungle. Jungle from jungle seeds, jungle seeds from jungle walls, jungle walls from the chest in the second island.

This is weird but ok
What would you use as starting material in a world where you have no grass and no acorns to grow and build anything? This is skyblock - you get 23 dirt blocks and solidifier - that's it. Your ONLY alternative is to switch your PC's time to Christmas and farm mobs for presents which sometimes drop Xmas themed solid blocks.

@@shazthegamer2583 That map is not well designed. It has no way of obtaining many items and NPCs. If that single tree doesn't drop an acorn - you are stuck. He was forced to change time on his PC to make it Xmas. And he couldn't get heart crystals without cheating in the end. The SkyTerra map has access to sand, angler, most gems, many other things. It just offers more content.
