I never imagined that Astrology would interest me this much, but I feel like I need it in my life right now. Plus it's a fun hobby, learning about something without feeling the need to perfect it. I kinda just learn what I want to know and i think it's good for my mental health to have something like that. Especially since I'm the "do it perfectly or don't do it at all" type of perfectionist and I usually end up not doing anything all day despite my need for productivity. A vicious cycle of self destruction.
"The quality of knowledge you can get from books is higher than what you'll find online." This statement is profoundly true. I just came to this realization lately in devising my strategy for learning. How much time do people spend consuming videos every day and how much actual knowledge do you gain from the time? Key: If you are not learning enough from a source to take notes, then the density of knowledge you are getting is not enough to warrant the time spent. This is my though for people in active learning stages as I am. Replace video-watching and blog-reading time with book-reading time. The quality and density of knowledge is vastly superior. And take notes! If you're learning on your own, treat it seriously.
I agree in terms of dedicated study time, but I mostly listen/ watch videos while I'm doing other things, which allows me to learn without dedicating any time specifically to learning.
Not true some people are visual learner some are listening learner some are hands on some are mental learner Depends on what type of learner you are there isn’t no specific and for everyone everyone is different
because its a symbolic language I first created flash cards for each sign, planet, house, aspect, etc. Took my time getting the associations down but by the time i did i was ready to tackle my chart.
Same I always thought it was bollocks but now I'm almost obsessing about it lol Sure it's not science, not proven etc etc but it's interesting anyways to use for introspection and to understand loved ones better

I would love to find a deck of flash cards that help guide beginners. They should have house significations, a legend for symbols, planets, zodiac characteristics, etc. Cards bound in spiral would be better still.

I have been following many astrologers who spoke about 2020 and how it could play out and low and behold here we are now.. I just find it fascinating that Pluto who is perceived as a "dwarf" planet now could have such a huge impact. I know where to begin now. Thank you!
LOL it does have a huge impact because it rules our psyche so, if you consider the damage to our psyche because of everything that is happening with health issues (Saturn) the combination of those two has generated a huge impact on everyone's mind. And it is going to continue! I laugh when people say it is not even a planet... not fun of course!

I have basically started step 4 - Although I definitely need to be doing more in step 3, and suppose I will be doing step 3 for many years. I recently watched your video on secondary progressions and now I feel like I've have dropped down the rabbit hole. I have a few questions... 1. When interpreting the chart to predict upcoming events do you focus first on your natal placements aspecting current placements OR do you start with major aspects in current planet placement astrology and work backward, essentially using your own placements as a secondary source i.e. Focusing on the full Moon eclipse that is coming up, checking any aspects in your chart for that day say over aspects moving through your chart on other days of the month. 2. Because I have already learned how to use secondary progressions ( not in practice but by following along your video and taking notes) Should I use my progressed chart instead of my natal chart to make predictions? Thank you so much for your content, looking forward to purchasing your book soon and maybe some courses from you in the future!
The natal chart is always primary, so always stick with the natal chart primarily for making predictions. With transits, start with the natal placements and configurations in the birth chart, and then look at the transits as activating those. Timing techniques in astrology are just activating the natal placements and potential that was indicated in the birth chart, and making placements that were dormant come alive. Honestly if you are still somewhat new then I wouldn't focus on secondary progressions as much at this stage, but instead start with annual profections and develop a good understanding of how that technique works first. I've been slowly studying astrology for years and still have more to learn, i love it, I remember most stuff but I need to start writing stuff down for memory...but iam getting so good to where I can guess your zodiac sign but if iam wrong on the actual sign I get the element right...iam slowly studying the moon sign which is just as important as your sun sign
I am wondering and hope you can answer: If our birth chart goes in a direction, like lets say, it shows no real relationship commitment for many years, maybe not at all. that the plants show I am in the opposite of relationship and in a long period of self updating. Where does free will come in? What if I am able to achieve this inner growth way sooner than my chart showed. I am just wondering how definite a birth chart is. Are we able to defy the chart? Very much a beginner and really enjoying tuning in to your podcast. Thank you!
Astrology is a language that uses symbolism, and it is hard to make definite statements like "this person will have no relationships for x number of years". While it may indicate some challenges, I don't think anything should be taken as definite or absolute, and therein lies the ability to use something like free will in order to override an indication that you don't like, if you really think that is what is best. Sometimes a surmountable difficulty and need to exert yourself to overcome it is all that was indicated in the first place.

It is a nice thing to do at some point if a person has the time and inclination, although it isn't a necessity at this point. It certainly helps in terms of understanding the astronomy behind charts a bit more though.
Chris, please share the info re: Astrological Software(s) that you use daily and the one (or couple?) which you highly recommend for advanced astro-students? thank you.

I'm also quite new to astrology, and I'm curious about these questions as well. You can probably look them up and get answers, but when it comes to spiritual things it can be hard to find an answer at times. Learning astrology to the point of being really good at it may take decades and you will work at it only if your chart says that you will be an astrologer, so the question is: do you want to invest years studying this and money buying books? It requires sacrifice and dedication :)

What if your friends, family members don't know the exact time of their birth? Everybody knows the date, but no one seems to know the time.

The American Ephemeris works fine in the UK. You could also get Raphael's Ephemeris, which I think is set for London time.
