Genos shut down before he got to see Saitama finish off DSK. But you can see he is smiling. He knew that DSK reached the end of the road and that he was not ready for his master. Genos had so much confidence Saitama would end the crisis right there he shut off with a damn smile! This guy can literally be on his deathbed against God level threats and be confident enough that Saitama will wipe the floor with them. Sensei deserves Genos' respect.

I love the detail of the Sea Kings punch stopping the rain from falling for a bit, but then it starts back up, but when Saitama punches the entire sky clears and it becomes sunny.
The fact he left a little mark on Saitama's head is something.

I think it's supposed to show the heat coming from the force of the blow. The kinetic energy goes next to nowhere with that punch, so there was probably a decent amount of heat transfer.

I've thought about this scene plenty of times I read it in the manga first but don’t really remember what it looked like visually. He punched him so hard both the rain cleared up for a few moments and his fist was smoking, so I guess that means it didn’t actually happen, because there's no way any of them saw those 2 clues and figured it just means the rest of the heroes above him at the time where weak.

What I love is that Saitama is giving a middle finger to all the things that should be humbling mankind. the first episode is a being created by nature to wipe out humanity so the planet can heal itself, and Saitama kills it instantly. then the King of the Sea rises up, threatening to destroy all those who live on land, much like Atlantis in DC Comics, and Saitama also kills him instantly.
Honestly, I'm getting a little tired of stories where mankind is humbled. it's time for the rest of the universe to share in it.

The Deep Sea King is hands down the best story ark in One Punch man. It really cements that the show is really about the supporting characters with Saitama as an incarnation of Deus ex machina.

I wish they would try and bring Saitama into the movies but with someone that actually cares about making it good. Like I'd love to see the first film have the Sea King as the villain. Just so we could focus on Saitama and Genos and others. Then the second movie could be about the fight with Boros. The third movie is still up in the air for me but still. It would be amazing to see in a movie that is done right.
