I did this for 3-6 month with a 4mm hook and medium yarn (which called for 4mm hook on label) and I just did an extra row of increase and followed the increase pattern so I did 5 dc and 6 with two dc and then I added an extra 2 rows if dc all around to make it reach down to my son's ears! Just an idea if you don't have a bigger hook on hand
I gotta say, I don't know what everyone is complaining about. I found it very easy to understand. I will say you do need to know your stitches before hand. However, I do wish she added a written pattern that included other sizes, for other children as many kids from many age groups would appreciate this video.
Any questions on changing sizes, i may be able to help. I am currently making one for a 7 year old, 10 year old and a 12 month old. to adapt the hat, look up making a basic beanie then come back for the head. For the 12 month old i did all the same stitches just increased my hook size up to a 6.0 mm.
Just made this for my son that will due March. I am excited! Thank you for sharing this awesome pattern. It turns out pretty good. I can't wait to take lots of baby pictures! We do appreciate your work! Keep the videos coming. ☺️ Stay safe.
For bigger sizes just go up a hook size! 3-6 months I used a 5mm hook and for 12 months a 6mm hook with DK yarn. Bigger the head bigger the hook and use Arran weight yarn for hooks 7mm and up! Experiment!
Hi (: I’m newer to crocheting and I’m more comfortable with a magic ring so If I wanted to start this with a magic instead how would I do it ? Would I crotchet 6 into the first round and increase in my second or just double crochet 12 into my magic ring just the same instead of doing it in the slipknot?
Great video and I love the written instructions that you included!! I sometimes wish I could hit the fast forward button on a large project LOL Thanks for posting
Would you please print a size gauge after the first three rows, perhaps? I used the indicated weight yarn and hook, finished the beanie, only to have it be 3” too short, both width and height, It would help us to adjust the hook size at the beginning!!!
Excellent video. Very easy to follow. Even with the sound off and subtitles on! If you are a beginner at crochet figure out the stitches before trying the pattern and use the pause button! Best Yoda Beanie pattern on RUclips.
When you went to make the ears (right after you chain 12, 11hdc, then loop, turn work,) when you started next row to hdc, were you only going in the top stitch or both? It looked as if you were only going into first/too part of the stitch and I didn’t hear you clarify.. Also, thanks for your wonderful videos. You have no idea how much they help me!! Im 40 years old, had a broken back and failed surgery. Now i have an enormous growth in my upper spine. Severe pain, and limited use of arms. My first grandchild arrived in August, and I couldn’t be there to hold my daughters hand while she delivered because of covid. My other daughter is due in May, and i wont get to be there to hold hers either. 😭 It tears me up inside and because of my disability, i may not get to hold either of my grandchildren.... i can, however, crochet them little presents to let them know l always loved them and i am there in spirit. Thank you again for all the things you have taught me through your videos. I am actually not half bad at this now, thanks to you 🤣🙏🏼😇
Hi Jamie, I pray and hope that you will feel much better soon. I know it’s hard for not being there to hold your grandchildren and hopefully this pandemic will soon be over and we all can visit family and friends again. Crochet the Yoda ear in both stitch, sorry for the confusion.❤️
I want to make this beanie for my daughter who has a head size of 17”. I seen below that I could use DK yarn and a 6mm hook, but I want the stitches to be tight like this beanie. Would they still be tight?
Wow something isn’t adding up for me. I used the recommended size hook and yarn. Have the right amount of stitches thru row 9 and the hat is really small. Not hitting the dimensions lusted. I can’t figure out what I did wrong. Any suggestions. Going to half to frog it and use a much bigger hook.
I got confused with this too. Because it would a hdc from hook then 9 hdc after that them chain 1 and go from there. It was I got from it, but reading what she said does not make seen.
I followed the pattern for the ears since i already knew how to crochet the hat part, this is perfect for my son's monthly outfit, he's turning 5months btw.
I know this video is old, but I was hoping someone may have a written pattern I could send to my grandmother. She can't do it with a RUclips video and I can only find patterns for 6 months which is way too big.
Just saying, if you’re going to do a tutorial for people to follow, perhaps you need to slow it down and be more clear about what you’re actually doing. Just a bit of constructive feedback for future posts. I totally got nothing from this and that’s a shame, because I liked what you were doing, until you totally lost me after the chains.
Sorry about that, this is one the video I made when I just started making tutorial video. I improved a lot since then. You can actually set this video to slow mode just by slicking on the setting on the screen.
It isn't a beginner's pattern! Learn the stitches first then pause the video at each stage. I am an intermediate crocheted and found thus very easy to follow.

My wife watched the Mandalorian, loved baby Yoda, and decided she must make one of these hats! Thanks for the instructions.
Yes, the baby yoda 's show

Amanda, Could you help with sizing for a 4 year old?
Your Yoda ears were perfect for the plush I was making! Thanks!
Very easy to follow, really cute design, thanks for sharing!
Easy to follow instructions and a clear video of what you're doing! Thank you, the hat came out great!!

Thanks for sharing your idea Ria.
Hi!! Is worsted weight same as aran weight?
@@tifani54 Hi! Arran is slightly heavier (thicker) than worsted so maybe go up a hook size if you are using arran. Hope this helps
@@riasheridan9327 Thanks for the tip!!
@@riasheridan9327 sorry to be a pain!! In the end I only found DK. Maybe I need to add some extra stiches to the beanie?
Thank you for the tutorial it’s lovely. How would I make one for 9-12 months child
Thank you! Excellent instructions for the ears (that's the part I needed so I can attach to a headband for my dog). :-)
Thank you so much. Made the set (diaper cover and hat) for my great-granddaughter. I know her mom will love it!
Love your tutorial you explain very well , I did the hat and the diaper for my grandson. Thank you for sharing.
Fantastic tutorial. I had no problem understanding or hearing it. I did wear headphones which might help others.
I just made this for a friend's Grandson this afternoon. Thank you so much for the easy to follow instructions!! 💚
Beautiful beanie. Could you please advise what ply wool you use. Is 8 ply suitable or should it be thicker?
Looking forward to making one.
No tuve dificultad para entender las instrucciones, está muy bien explicado, gracias.
Thank you for this tutorial! I will be making this for my newborn nephew for Christmas. :)

Easy to follow and turned out perfectly
I hadn’t crocheted for some years. This was a wonderful pattern. Fantastic instructions, nice finish, will look for more!!
Great video and I love the written instructions that you included!! I sometimes
wish I could hit the fast forward button on a large project LOL
Thanks for posting
Thank you 🙂
Very good guidelines for the hat like the pattern is in white print exac
Exactly what you need to do

Hi i love it 💕but i need to Know how to make gloves of yoda for the baby to 9- 12 month

I love your tutorials! Thank you so very much for creating and sharing 🖤❤ How can I make this for an adult?
Wonderful! Thank you 😊
That´s amesing !! Congratulaions on your video and thank you so much

Crochet the Yoda ear in both stitch, sorry for the confusion.❤️
i guess Im kinda randomly asking but does anybody know of a good website to watch new series online?
@Gavin Crew i use Flixzone. You can find it on google =)
@Pierce Fox Yup, I have been watching on flixzone for years myself =)
@Pierce Fox thanks, signed up and it seems like a nice service :D Appreciate it !
Thank you for this! Great teaching for us beginners
Your whole count is off for the ears. If you chain 12, and go from the 3rd chain, your gonna get 9hdc
I got so confused with this
Very cute, thanks

Gracias por este tutorial, muy bien explicado y hasta yo lo entiendo, un saludo desde Arizona
8:02 Ohren.
Thank You 👍🏼💚
Can this be make for a 12 year old ?? What would be the difference in stitches?
Carmen Padilla I was just wondering about a size for a 6 year old. 😃
there are various other patterns out there that would have a chart to follow----ravelry??
Nice how many rows after top for the ears
Thank you! This was so easy and cute.
Your math is little bit off I making the ears. Chain 12 start half double crochet 3rd from hook. Confusing. New at this. Thanks
I got confused with this too. Because it would a hdc from hook then 9 hdc after that them chain 1 and go from there. It was I got from it, but reading what she said does not make seen.
Me too, I don’t know what to do now, I already made the hat part😢
What do you mean by increase?
What colour green is this please?
the ear is very nice . I like it very much .
❤❤❤
Consulta , quisiera hacer uno igual pero mi bebé ya tiene 1 año y medio, podría decirme el.patron x favor, con cuantos puntos comienzo ???
Thank you for this tutorial!😊
I followed the pattern for the ears since i already knew how to crochet the hat part, this is perfect for my son's monthly outfit, he's turning 5months btw.
Good job! Thank you!
I Like it, even i can't hear the voice clearly. But how you explaint the tutorial with the text is good
Thank you i liked it a lot. For me it was easy to follow.
Hi! How can i do it bigger with this yarn and hook! 12 months boy. Thank you
I would increase 1 or 2 more rows!
Thank you for the tutorial I just had one problem, I had a hard time to hear you and my volume was up to the max.
Hi Stitch'n Nicole. You could try turning on the Closed Captions by clicking on the CC icon. I find that helps.
Stitch'n Nicole .The text on screen I find that easy to follow.
very new at this , what does increase mean exactly ?
It means that you make 2 stitches into the same stitch, for example, you make 2 double crochets in the same stitch, you do it twice
I know this is a few years old but does anyone have advice for making this for a 12-16 month old?
Is there a printable instruction pattern?
Hi, I do not have printable pattern at this moment
Love it
Guys, do you know what size is the yarn she used?
I know this video is old, but I was hoping someone may have a written pattern I could send to my grandmother. She can't do it with a RUclips video and I can only find patterns for 6 months which is way too big.
Great video. Thank you
Volume all the way up and cannot hear/understand. Is there a written pattern.
Can someone tell me what the stich difference would be if I wanted to make this hat for an adult male!? Head circumstance of 24in.
Wo finde ich die Anleitung auf Deutsch?
Written pattern?
Did I miss how to attach the ears?
💚💚💚💚😍

I can not hear you, please be a little louder Please!!
How about for a teenager?
What size hook should I be using??
azucena sanchez size 4.00mm . Recommended hook at yarn showed 5.00mm. I used 4mm because I want tighter stitches.
azucena sanchez 4mm
If you want new born size 4mm with DK yarn or go up a hook size for each increase in months (e.g. 5mm 3-6 months, 6mm 6-12 months)
I wish you would have slowed down and showed the stitches more. Overall thanks
For me it came out so small...
How would I make it for a premie?
Use a smaller sized yarn and needle
headband.
Very unclear, and too fast for a (somewhat) beginner!
Why not use the captions and pause the video so that you can follow each row? This might be easier for you.
Please I can hear nothing I'm almost deaf.
You go way too fast. You don't even show how to do the stitches. You need to slow down for everyone.
It isn't a beginner's pattern! Learn the stitches first then pause the video at each stage. I am an intermediate crocheted and found thus very easy to follow.
YOU GO WAY TO FAST !!!!!!!!
The video is not so clear.....
J.D Diaz great videos! Gonna make this! Can you do a tutorial on the wee newborn crop tops you see in newborn photos?
M
Y
Way too fast.
Use the pause button!
there is a pause button.
