I don't think people really understand how significant these scene actually is. The amount of hidden information in this scene is extraordinarily important: How we never saw Dean actually give Cas that tape, why it says "Dean's top 13" not just "The top 13", why is says traxx instead of tracks. Hell, why is it 13 songs, not the usually 5, 10 or 15. 1.) I believe that there are plenty of things we don't get to see the Winchesters and Cas do together. Nothing weirdly sexual, just like the casual sit down and talk about a hunt they went on before Cas was around. Playing some sort of games. Sitting in silence, researching, amd so many other little things the audience would love to see. 2.) I believe that the writers wanted to make the mixtape on a more personal level, adding Deans name in front of it, implying that these are Dean's favorite songs, not Zepp's most popular ones. Dean wanted to give Cas a gift on a more personal level. Possibly giving it to Cas after the whole "I love you. I love all of you," scene. Maybe he was trying to say something to Cas that he isn't able to say to him face to face. 3.) Now, why 13 instead of the usually number of tracks thats are easily divided by 5? I think it's implying something very important is going to happen in season 13. Something that could change something about these two characters. I have a very strong feeling that there's going to be a very large amount of Destiel scenes, radiating off of Dean, seeing the man he loves alive again, after seeing the light leave his eyes. If you don't ship Destiel, I completely respect your opinion, and I wish I could see how you possibly couldn't out of everything they have done to/with each other on a more friendship level. Dean obviously bought that tape brand new, or had one still in the packaging seeing as the label is fresh, and the cassette tape in perfect condition. It wasn't just a tape he made years ago that was in the bottom the box of cassette tapes in the Impala. He created that tape specifically for Cas. Weather he was simply trying to have Cas be influenced by good music, (but I'm sure Cas known what good music is by the amount of times he has been in the car with the Winchesters, blasting 'Ramblin' On' in the speakers of the car) or if this was a hint that Dean was trying to pass onto an angel who likely didn't understand the gesture right away. If this was a hint to future events, hence the title of the episode, or just a friendly gift, there is a deeper meaning in this exchange. (Also, there was a tweet made by one of the many amazing members on the visual effect team on set of Supernatural, the day the episode was first aired. it went along the lines of this: "Take some time today to show the one you love how much they mean to you. Pick a flower, make a meal, fill the bath, record them a mixtape.." If that isn't foreshadowing, I don't know what is. :) Oh, Dean definitely had to know how romantic this act is, even if he thought it was okay to do so even on a friendship level, but he still said, "eh, it's fine to give my driend a mixtape I made specifically for him". But the thing is, Cas came into Dean's room to steal the colt, not to return the mixtape to dean, so he had to make something up. But of course, even if he tried to steal something from Dean, he did it to save the Winchesters. He didn't want to go against them, he had to, to save them from killing Kelley. People are trying to use that against this scene, saying Castiel only made it all up. But little do they know, that Cas didn't make this up. I've over analyzed almost ever scene in this show, and he has felt usuless to the Winchesters, and always wanted to save them. Take season 6 and the leviathans. Season 11 when he said Lucifer can take his vessel to defeat Amara. He's always wanted to make things less difficult for the Winchesters. He just had to say it to make Dean less suspicious. Then they had this whole scene that Dean did himself did. He returned the Cassette tape to Cas, saying he made it specifically for him and it was a gift for him to keep. Even after Dean being mad at Cas for trying to help them, he still managed to give it to Cas. But then Dean has to chicken out and say he needs a beer, letting Cas have the opportunity to steal the colt. But the scene of exchanging looks, glances, and barley any words during the 20 second transaction of these two, is enough. 13 words and 20 seconds changed the way so many people looked at these too. Also, they purposely did a close up shot at Cas setting the Mix tape down on Deans desk and then Dean handing it back. They don't do close up shots for no reason, the do it to tell the audience that this scene is important and you should take notice. Anyway, that's what I got from the shot xD
That cassette tattoo seems like an amazing Idea, if only I actually had any pain tolerance! I'm really excited, but also nervous for what S13 has to offer, and I'm hoping they show something more then the classic queerbating they have been doing. They keep amping up the Destiel in each season, so maybe they're trying to build it up for something xD
Hey there, a friend told me to watch this and wow. Okay. You have some interesting points however. Castiel didn't whole heartedly go to Dean's room to make amends and to fix the situation. He actually went there to get the colt. But when discovering that Dean was there, he knew he had to do something else which brought on the 'mix tape' montage.Dean opened a little by stating 'We were worried.' Not 'I was worried.' When he left it took Cas maybe two seconds to find the colt and then disappear without even a proper goodbye. His motivation in stealing the colt was to do a selfless act because he couldn't hurt Sam or Dean and he wanted to protect them. But as for Cas knowing that the colt was under the pillow was just a random set of events. He went looking for it and found it in a place where Dean often hid his weapons. Under his pillow. Anybody who knows Dean knows his hiding spots. It's not as if Cas had spent a great amount of time in Dean's room or on his bed as most fans like yourself seem to think. "Cas came into my room and played me." AKA "Dean got scammed!" And that's the truth even if it stings a bit. But great video btw! :)
That's true, he didn't go to the room to fix everything, he was probably trying to avoid running into Dean at all because it would make him feel worse about what he thought he had to do. And if he wasn't planning on giving him back the mixtape then that would mean he had it in his pocket which is pretty cute anyway. As for 'we were worried' not 'I was worried' Dean constantly says 'we' so he doesn't have to face his own feelings. While it's true that Sam was worried, he wasn't nearly as stressed out as Dean was. Not only that but I think Dean thinks of he and Sam as I unit a lot of times. And the under the pillow thing, It was all off camera so of course we don't really know if he went looking or if he already knew where it was. It's something we can take liberty with in our own minds :)
The thing with the impala makes me so sad because he trusts him with his most prized possession even after cas betrayed him earlier that day and then kelly goes off with the car and it looks like cas stole the impala I cry and then dean still goes to his rescue even after he probably thinks cas stole baby

Yes! So far Dean has always forgiven him in under 24 hours but i'm worried that it won't happen this time? If they did that though, there would be hell to pay. The fans tend to get very vocal when it comes to beloved characters and Castiel is very beloved.
I think dean will forgive him again based on the promo trailer where (spoiler) team free will faces lucifer and dean screams "CAS!" when this one takes a step forward to fight the beast. Dean cannot stay mad at cas because basically he hates losing people he cares about. However, cas keeps leaving and lying to the boys. There is nothing i want more than my babies to talk about their feelings and ofc I want cas in the bunker for good.
their biggest problem is lack of communication. Also, when they are about to have a deep talk, someone usually interrupts them. My dream is to have one episode where they hang out and talk about everything for 43 minutes. xD
Yes! They like to use Sam to interrupt their deep conversations and it always makes me sad. As specially since Sam wouldn't want to do it, he always encourages Dean to talk about feelings. It will be a massive breakthrough if they let them continue a talk, and I think they should. Maybe next season they will...
