Bin sehr beeindruckt, kenne op. 10 von vielen Pianisten. Unprätentiös, keine Show-Verrenkungen, vielen Dank. Sehr tiefgründiger Chopin, bin begeistert. Freue mich schon auf op. 25!
Frau Schirmer is simply magnificent.
1:55 If you hear nothing else this year this passage will more than make up: this is the most beautiful transition of this passage I have ever heard and that includes Pollini, Ashkenazy, Lisita and two dozen others. Absolutely breathtaking. Hell, the whole Etude No 1 was magnificent but that transition just blew me away. It'll blow you away too. Why isn't Ragna performing this in the Musikverein, in Vienna rather than a drawing room??? Video made in 2010 and only 68K hits. Scandalous!!

@Mazzel Tov , Ragna sounds similar to Chochieva, phrasing and dynamics. though I do agree with Perahia being in a different league, it's Perahia. I don't know Chochieva's playing well enough yet, but she is amazing no doubt.
absolutely brilliant performance of no.1. Thanks. Really genuine emotive playing; never overplayed. Ashkenazy was my favourite before but i think i prefer this, but the style and touch is very similar :) the pedal work is notably precise.
The style of Ashkensi and touch are totaly different...He makes absolutly no rubato and tone is more defined than by her...She leavs her hand rest in order to achive the power for next passage in the manner of very very tempo rubato and that is in performing an etude not allowed...Etude is the practice work with precision in tone and rhythm...Ashkenasi,Kissin,Idil Biret,Richter,Argerich they all make no tempo rubato...Their hand rests between two periods or at the high melody points where one phrase ends up and they make no tempo changes like she or bang bang...

Ich stimme dir zu, weil zumindest chopin's etüden sehr ausdrucksvoll sind wie die Nummer 3 er hat ziehmlich viele Gedanken hereingebracht (no.4) paar übungstechnicken in schöne ausdrucksweise zu bringen und eine melodie daraus zu machen RICHTIG SCHWER!!!!!!!

Konzertetüden (wie diese es sind) sind sowieso keine Übungsstücke mehr. Die Frage ist ob der Anspruch etwas "Neues" in diese Etüden zu bringen nicht etwas zu hoch gesetzt ist. Vielmehr ist deren wunderbarer Erhalt, ihre Emotionalität und ihre klangliche Begeisterung ein Träger ihres Daseins.
Version bien élaborée et structurée mais aussi très stérile selon moi. Il me manque toute magie.
Wirklich sehr schöne, liebevolle Interpretationen und eine großartige Technik, aber ich muss sagen, dass ich nicht wirklich etwas Neues höre in den Etüden, damit meine ich einen neuen, intelligenten, kreativen Gedanken, den ich vorher noch nicht gehört habe. Etwas mehr Farbe, Imagination durch Freiraum, Raffinesse, Charakter hätte ich mir gewünscht. Die Etüden sind doch viel mehr als nur Übungsstücke.

Too much authority... "les études" by Chopin are so hard, you have to be very good technically (euphemism), but it's still chopin: It's mean that you have to play smoothly...
But some pieces are fast, and others are relaxing, and others are slow, Chopin's song types are mostly fast, and I think that he likes pieces that are *Allegro* and *Vivaicci*.
Ordentlich, aber viele Fehler und Unsicherheiten, die sie mit einem Rubato kaschiert.
Ganz genau...Sie erholt die Hand mit dem tempo rubato und nicht zwischen 2 Perioden oder auf den höchsten Melodiepunkten bei Umkehr in die Gegenrichtung was technischen Sinn macht...Tempo rubato by etüden ist nicht so sehr stilistisch erlaubt...Deshalb ist etude No 1. auch meiner Meinung nach nicht richtig gespielt.Ton ist sehr oberflächlich...
beim Anblick dieser Pianistin bestätigt sich mein Bild immer wieder: Frauen am Klavier sind einfach die besseren Pianisten. danke!
Dann muß Pollini eine Frau sein. Wieder was gelernt.
