As a short disclaimer:
This video was made with the info we had when Rundown 6 and its extension were released. Meaning that some of the points I make in the timeline *could* have been changed slightly or fleshed out later on. I tried to keep it rather general so most of it should still hold up in the future.

@@sobrietyliiving I think I watched a general overview for the whole timeline but didn't get to the actual books yet.
@@declicitous1763 Our best guess is that NAM-V originated from the planet that we visit whenever we are teleported outside of Garganta.
Sadly we don't really know exactly what is going on with the rest of the world while our main characters are active. But we have various logs talking about an underground vault as well as humans just surviving even after the collapse of most governments. But those logs are still a few years before the game takes place so we don't know how many people can actually survive lonnger time frames.
If I had a dollar for everytime a body horror centric video game started with the chixalub crater I would have two dollars

By far the best lore video on GTFO. Watched two far less informative, yet much more popular videos before yours finally showed up in the recommended list. And now I finally know what the game is about. Good job.

So... What this might imply is that world outside of Garganta is probably dead and KSO are sent into the complex by AI that hasn't realised that continiued search is pointless

Thinking about getting into GTFO but have always been a bit put off with how some people presented the backstory in a rather convoluted manner. This video does a great job of clearing that info up and making the setting a whole lot more approachable! Thanks so much!

Bro I just came from watching the gameplay and it's probably the most jarring thing. It was loud, quiet, loud ,quiet, over and over. And then this man starts up with his calm voice and it just jarrs me into a non-anxiety filled state.

I definitely plan to make a complete summary when R8 is released and wraps up the story. In the meantime I was thinking about a smaller update video about certain topics that got more info in recent Rundowns.

How do earthquakes cause diseases?
Normally they don't directly cause diseases but rather leave people more vulnerable to them; being exposed to cold weather after losing their homes or polluting previously clean water supplies for example.
For GTFO, some people think it's implied that the earthquakes released the NAM-V Virus to the surface.

I've been told the volume is a bit low but there is definitely audio.

He speaks English better then half the Americans I know. Granted I grew up speaking a dialect of German because of being from PA, but he speaks clearly and it’s easy to understand. You just gotta clear out your ear canals bro
