  • First, I want to thank ‪@LadyDecade‬ for the inspiration for this video. After watching her video (link below), I decided to make a video addressing the issue too. Modern gaming has problems... a LOT of problems. Here is my take and why I feel the way I feel. Let's talk about it.

Nice. I'm thinking or ordering the 3-mode soon.

If you play Saints Row The Third, Max Payne 3, Sleeping Dogs, basically everything from 2008 to 2018. It's nearly impossible to play current games afterwards. They put in a diverse character like it's the entire plot and character development. Like skin color or gender and we slap a we done it tag on it. Storytelling has just gotten so lazy, and of course the story never ends because you have endless dlcs, season passes, whatever. Modern gaming is over, besides indie games. If GTA 6 isn't a home run, gaming is finished.

I hated Uncharted for the tutorial/ story sections that could have easily been a skippable cutscene. I fell asleep playing Uncharted 4. I wasn't allowed to do things on my own till two hours in. Then people tell me, "you gotta enjoy the story. The story is so good. The story..." if I wanted story over gameplay I would be watching TV.

I think the politics and the "ladies" is subjective, I don't disagree, but I also agree, depends who you talk to, not everyone cares for looks. Or the manual part, like you said "old man screaming at cloud" I'm fine with those tutorials, credit where credit is due, you could've skip the tutorial in Pokemon legends, and I think you could with Scarlet and violet.
But definitely the biggest issue is not being able to play a game, when you open the package. I remember opening toys in the car and that's how I lost some pieces, or opening a game, putting it in my DS. Updates are fine, but ship them ready to play, and not wait 30-60 minutes to play, stop with the Internet required 100% of the time, pokemon doesn't need Internet all the time, and that's good.
But I'm also one of your younger viewers, so I don't have nostalgia for manuals, or none tutorials

I use the currend Situation to move from xbox to steam.
Figured if I play older games anyway I might as well do it on a new system with new achivements that doesnt charge me for online play 😊

I just wishlist games and go through my backlog till I see a sale be it AAA or not this way I can continue to enjoy gaming and not follow where the industry wants me to go.

Awesome topic I agree the biggest problem is the update for example halo or forza you want to play it and wait there an update an hour I don’t have time for that that why I prefer retro games any game just play no updates required man I miss the old days this issue started when these consoles got connected to the internet was mid 2000

Playing new AAA games on a console that only cost $500 is a great deal.
Try and play Alan Wake 2 or BDG3 on a $500 PC.
Also 155 ps4 games have the free 4k/60 fps patch for the ps5 .

@@Crashed131963 The "new AAA games" are the problem. Not playing that woke shite.

I only play single player games so none of this problems affect me .
I enjoyed playing Alan Wake 2 on my Ps5 much better than GTA5.
I also like that 155 ps4 games have the free 4k/60 fps patch for ps5 .
Mass Effect and witcher 3 at 2160p/60 is much better than 1080p/30 on a Ps4 .

I bought Halo infinite in 24 and cant play it on the latest xbox as my modem has a gb limit so bought a game and new console already rendered useless. Also bc games is like 80% of xbox I own doesn't start as not supported. Not buying xbox again.

Depends what you like. For example, I dislike Mario games. I find them boring, I find all platformers boring if I'm being honest the games I've enjoyed:
2019: Fire Emblem Three houses, Control, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, Disco Elysium, Astral Chain
2020: Doom Eternal, Last of Us Part II, FF& remake, Ghost of Tsuushima, Cyberpunk 2077, Half-Life Alyx, Spiderman Miles Morales, Tell Me Why, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Asscreed Valhalla, Persona 5 Strikers
2021: Psychonauts 2, Forza Horizon 5, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, Inscryption, Life is Strange True Colors, Tales of Arise, Lost Judgement, Biomutant
2022: Horizon Forbidden West, Splatoon 3, Dying Light 2, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin
2023: Legend of Zelda TotK, Octopath Traveler 2, Alan Wake 2, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, Armored Core VI, Fire Emblem Engage, Disgaea 7
2024: FF7 Rebirth, Dragon's Dogma 2, Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, Sand Land, Rise of the Ronin
Sure many games have gone down the live service route, but there are still a handful of games that I consider bangers each year. There has yet to be a year where there weren't at least 7 new games I bought. I am 36 going on 37 so its not like I'm new to gaming or anything. I simply know my tastes and am not stuck in a doom and gloom ecosystem.

I can't agree in the slightest. Most of those games were derivative or just not good. 7 of them were good to decent. Almost everyone you chose proved my points. Thank you for that. You made a list to support what I was saying. Thank you for that. 👍🏻
