Hiller has his own style, not comparible with Chopin or Schumann in my vision. Again a remarkable work that's more than worth placing, thank you again for that.
Interesting music. His own style with good command of virtuosistic piano techniques but never superficial or vacuous. First movement is weak but rescued by a nice second and a brilliant third that looks hard to be played properly. In general I feel style is derived from the French school with very few but detectable influence of his friend Mendelssohn. Here I hear no legacy of his teacher Hummel. Not unforgettable piece but good and pleasant to listen. Even more interesting the 3 concertos. Second is widely available on RUclips & Spotify. First and Third shall be purchased (Howard Shelley premiered both in a CD of 2008 that can't yet be uploaded on free music platforms)
