I used to play at Arsenal Soccer School in dubai with my brother. I have a picture from when Ozil visited. Also one time I almost knocked over the fa cup by running straight into it.
His career did decline but he was never forgotten .....and still a legend today

I would say Ozil was one of the Greatest Creators of all time
Playmaking is a different task. That's the task of a player who prefers to control the tempo of the game while being extremely positionally disciplined. Eg: Xavi, Pirlo, Kroos, Busquets(post 2016)
Ozil never was a great team player in the sense that in the arsenal team he would almost never track back and defend
