Neymar reached his peak very early when Messi and Ronaldo were still dominating the game.
When they started to leave the stage, Neymar was already at PSG playing the French League and he could only be talked to a Ballon D'Or award if PSG won the UCL or Brazil the WC, which didn't happen. Now, going to Arabia with 31 years old and without Ronaldo or Messi's work ethic, I think his chances are gone. People will start looking at Mbappe or Haaland for future awards.

Injuries are not always due to bad luck, most of the time it’s precipitated by poor preparation and training. Unfortunately Neymar’s nature is too relaxed, lazy even. And laziness could be very crippling to some. Most of his injuries I think could’ve been prevented by more dedicated time in the gym. Another example is Hazard, retired at 32, multiple injuries but notoriously known for his laziness and minimal training between games. A player is not just prone to injures, you have to look sometimes for the reasons.

I think that Neymar is one of the best players of our current generation and he’s a player who excites many people when it comes to his flair skill dribbling goalscoring playmaking and superb talent. As a teenager playing in the Brazilian league he finished top 10 in Ballon Dor voting and at the time he was seen as a generational talent and was seen as the next Pele and would be even better than him and was a future Ballon Dor winner. When Neymar was playing for Barcelona he enjoyed the best period of his career there forming an incredible trio with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez combining incredibly well with both of them and he as well was on fire scoring goals producing a lot of brilliant plays he was one of the most entertaining players in the world. He was critical in that Barcelona team that won the treble in 2015 including the Champions League where he was joint top scorer in the competition that year and helped Barcelona win 2 more domestic league titles. He’s about to be the highest scorer of all time in the Brazilian national team. He’ll be seen as a player who didn’t live up to his potential and someone who could’ve achieved a lot more in his career and he has himself to blame in some sense as after he left Barcelona for PSG he won no Ballon dors no champions league no World Cup just some Ligue 1 titles.
I felt like Neymar’s move to PSG was just too premature as he wanted to have his own team and he wasn’t ready for that if he stayed with Barcelona for a little longer he and Messi would continue doing well domestically and then he’d be the face of the team after he left but was too impatient and joined PSG for his own reasons which was to win the Ballon dor which is an individual award but for his own career I get he wanted to win the Ballon dor but should’ve stayed with Barcelona and played at the highest level of football in his peak years but threw all that away because of his ego and diva attitude. He downgraded his career by going to PSG leaving a very good Barcelona side to join a team with no European history whatsoever.

I give my perspective about Neymar:
Neymar for me is the second best entertainer I’ve ever seen after Ronaldinho. His skills, goals, celebrations, games are just fun & impressive to watch. I remember the national game against Argentina in 2016 when he bodied just everybody from the Argentina squad. Even Messi couldn’t handle him. Like it wasn’t funny to me.
My perspective of why he leaved Barça is bcs he wanted to show the ppl that he can be the boss without Messi & Suarez. Bcs he doesn’t wanted to be the shadow of Messi. I feel like ppl are so much impulsive discrediting when ppl forget of what he archived.
He was a Top 10 player of the Ballon’dor as a Santos player.
He carried the whole Brazil to the 2013 Confed Cup & their first Olympia ever in 2016.
He putted PSG for the first in time in a CL Final in 2020.
He played in Copa America Final in 2021 & the Argentinas were so fucking dirty to him.
And I’m sure ppl wouldn’t say that his career failed if he won the CL with & the Copa while he won already for Brazil. Injuries were his reasons tho.
For all ppl saying „He should stay at Barça. He would def win a Ballon’dor“ i say maybe. But only bcs of Suarez & especially Messi. He would be shadowed just like Xavi & Iniesta. Bcs after 2015 Barça couldn’t get it done to win more CL trophies. In terms of „plays“ they’re the best trios but by „success“ no.
So in my perspective Neymar‘s career isn’t failed. He’s just discredited bcs he leaved Barça

He failed to live to YOUR EXPECTATIONS.
    And you know what?
Good for him, still one of the all time greats, he won almost everything that he actually had a chance to win and i bet he was happy af knowing he got to do what he wanted to do with his life plus more and you people that stand behind your keyboard stay judging him and never kicked a football a day in your lives.
You can't seriously say you know something about him when you don't even know him. I'm not even going to say for yall to leave him alone when the most important part is that you leave yourself behind whenever you find time to comment on someone's career so stfu.
"He should've done this, he should've done that" Blah, Blah, Blah.. you should've stfu.

Neymar was a big deal back in like 2009-2013 when he was in santos
1- first player to rank in top 10 in the ballon d'or who plays outside of europe
2- he did it while he was like 19, A TEENAGER who doesn't even play in europe for any big club.
3- he was the biggest star in his team
4- he was scoring solos and doing wild skills consistently in all the matches he played
the Neymar of santos or the Neymar of youtube as some called him isn't the same player who played for barcleona or psg in my opinion
that neymar of santos was levels above the other versions of neymar and had potential to rival messi and ronaldo if not surpass them
seemed like a clutch player, who was really skillfull and up and coming
he went to europe and then what happened?

It's pretty safe to say that Neymar 11 > Neymar 10 which also means his downfall began with leaving Barcelona where his true home was.
If you go to Ligue 1 and don't win the UCL eventually people will lose interest in you.
It happened to Neymar and it will happen to Mbappe if his ego and greed won't allow a transfer to another league.
If anyone seriously wants to tell me it's better for your career to leave a club like Real or Barca (especially in favor of a club like PSG) you are out of your mind and understand nothing about football.

I understand his frustration, by the time messi left Barcelona neymar was 29, like let's be real, what player becomes the hier at 29, when ronaldinho left messi was the hier and he was only like 21 or something
waiting for messi to finally leave to start your own chapter at 29 is really wild idea
he was right to leave, but he should have gone to the england not france
France created a comfort zone for him and a league that isn't strong enough to make psg ready to win the ucl
if he came to like maybe a city or chelsea even in 2017 i think it would have been much better for his career, given of course that he wants to actually work hard to become the best player in the world not go to paris and attend shows and do whatever with your hair every few months

Am i the only guy who think Neymar would have had the same downfall if he stayed at Barca ? Romain Molina a French journalist said in one of his last videos that Neymar didn't succeed his medical survey at Paris Saint-Germain as they spotted an alert on one of his ankles but qatar said that it doesn't mattered and they agreed on the transfert. Even in Al-hilal i don't think the medical survey was really promissing as he's already injured. Let's face it, Neymar jr's career didn't live up to our expectations because of his fragile body (i think his 2014 world cup injury really has been a turning point) his life hygiene (who worsened his ankles and metatarsials) and finally by the fact that he and his father really like money. I remembered him saying that he needed parties to decompress so i think he couldn't had another career. Ronaldinho was like him, ultra-talented but hedonistic at the very core.
