- As I say in the video, I always match fragrances to my "look" and my vibe. The "Clean Girl" or "Chic & Polished Minimalism” aesthetic is one I have been embracing for years because I enjoy a more natural, fresh and polished look that doesn't require too much time or energy. Love queens and monsters! I purchased it after sampling the line and watching your review of the house. I’m so glad I have it! The cocoa notes in dry down is beautiful and unique. I also love the clean ingredients. I don’t get a headache wearing it. My focus right now is getting rid of fragrances that cause icky headaches and buying those that work for me...even if it’s just a few. This one is a keeper!

Fun choices. "The kids™" have dubbed this style "East Coast Grandma Chic". I should be insulted by that, but I'm not. 😂 These are all good choices. I'm partial to the fig scents. I also love date scents. Just gentle, Earthy, natural sweetness.🥰 I don't hate gourmands but sometimes they go overboard with the sugar.
Mini edit. Oh no, not smashed bottles! I've actually been discussing storage units over on Fragrantica. It's important to use shelves that allow you to pull stuff out with sliding units from the sides. It's what stores use. Not pooping on you or anything. This is a super common problem. I've also bee trying to drive home the importance of keeping light away from storage areas, which can be problematic because people want to show off their collections too, which I totally get too. You're not alone in knocked bottle city. I think it happens to all of us at some point.
Oh yes. Half of my perfumes are boxed up in a separate closet. The other 1/4 are on my dresser far away from light (direct and indirect) and the other 1/4 are scattered around in baskets I store under my bed. No. Direct. Light. Ever. 🥰I’m a good girl there…😉

I'm a fan of Claire's channel and I also love her sense of humor in addition to scientific information about fragrances. Glossier You is a fragrance I would like to experience one day for it's "your skin but better" quality. The closest I've come so far to a scent like that is Bare by Victoria's Secret.

Aah thank you! I love glossier you, this one is in my top 10 for life, it's one I never tire of. It's a signature and all-rounder. I think it's the one that most people have asked me what are you wearing too. I guess it's a bit different to most designer fragrances.
I really want to try some clean fragrances. They were in TKMaxx last year and I missed them...

Queens and Monsters is one of my favorites. Stunning sandalwood with a slight patchouli, vanilla dry down. Men love this fragrance. You’re the only person I follow who talks about this fragrance!!

Hiver is French for Winter. The H is silent, so in this case you pronounce the D as the first letter of the word and it's a contraction for "of winter". The fragrance name means Vetiver of Winter and is pronounced Vet ee ver (like in "very") Dee ver (like in "very") Vet ee ver Dee ver.

Clean Reserve Skin is one of my signature scents! So beautiful! Another one is Fleur de Peau, which I think also fits this aesthetic.
And a funny thing: the exact same thing happened to my little bottle of Another 13, before I got to really wear and understand it, so I’m unsure still if I will ever repurchase
Really! Skin is impossible to dislike (the scent at least) and you will see it again in my video I plan to film later this week. Wink wink! Yes Another 13 is so nice…but gosh…I have so many and it’s so expensive…..🤦♀️❤️

I choose my fragrance for the day the same way you do! The weather and my clothes and sometimes also colours. The clean aesthetic I call "crisp white shirt fragrance". My favourites for those are the original Y by Yves Saint Laurent; White Linen; and the amazing and hard to find Cerruti 1881 in the nude pink box, with its note of fresh linen

I’m glad you mentioned your brain 🧠 when it comes to the sense of smell. Lots of folks don’t know or understand that. My sense of smell is one of a blind animal 😂😂😂, it on a thousand. Sometimes I’m like is the heightened since smell stroke related 😆🤦🏾♀️

Definitely think a fragrance is part of the outfit… I usually pick my fragrance based on the mood I’m in or want to get in (like when I need a I’m so fab fragrance when I had to go interview for a job )… so often it’s fragrance first and outfit later

1) Do you enjoy Musk Therapy or Parisian Musk better (scent profile and projection/longevity)? And why?
2) Have you smelled Musc Moschus? If so, do you feel that one or Matier Premier Parisian Musc better? And how do they differ?
Also, I’ve owned Musk Therapy, have sampled Parisian Musk and never smelled Musc Moschus - so I’m trying to compare, contrast and see how you rank these 3.
3) How do you rank all 3 and why? Any thoughts would be super helpful!
Oh I think I definitely need to sample Musc Moschus now!!! MT and PM are really two very different perfumes. I love them both so much. Gosh I guess I would choose Musk Therapy if I had to; it’s an easy reach , smells great and a big compliment getter. I don’t wear perfumes for compliments but I like that ppl love the way I smell when I wear it. 💕

I don't know that i could get past the shish kebab to reach the wet dirty rose! Cumin is such a weird note in perfumery. I think I have it in a couple scents, although I don't think it gets listed as often as it gets used. Interestingly enough, I couldn't remember the name of the fragrance I have that has cumin in it as a listed note until you mentioned that Rose 33 is your rainy day fragrance - the one I couldn't remember is an Atelier Cologne called Mandarin Glacial, and I only EVER wore it on...wait for it...rainy days!!! That's just TOO WILD!
Ha ha! Gypsy Water! Ryan doesn't like musk, so he doesn't like that one. I have the Oil Perfumery version of that one, and I use it in the vacuum cleaner. Our house smells nice and clean and chic! xo
I need to get the oil perfumery for Gypsy Water. I have the perfume but it needs help. And I have about 4 other oils in my shopping cart! They are awesome! ❤️

I was just looking at the Henry Rose discovery sets this morning. Queens and Monsters sounds so pretty. I didn’t know it resembled Vanilla Woods. (Unfortunately that one had a pickle juice aspect to my nose🤷🏻♀️) Have you tried any other fragrances from this house? Windows Down looks so refreshing. 💛🍋💛

Oh yes I did a house review on HR a year ago and was utterly impressed. Many in the line I enjoyed. They have since come out with a few new ones. Highly recommend getting their discovery set. ❤️

Another super helpful video Chris! Now that we live in the subtropics I could use a "clean aesthetic scent", and that category doesn't come naturally to me (amber-florals and amber-vanillas are my wheelhouse).
When did you get your Glossier You bottle? I've tried it a few times recently at Sephora and I swear I can't smell a thing. I read that a reformulation due to regulatory changes might be the culprit?

Great look and video Chris! Have you Smelled Bo from Liis? I really like Fleur de Peau from Dyptique within whis vibe, surprisingly I can smell it on my skin the next day of wearing it but the projection is ultra intimate (some people say "You" is very similar but I haven't tried it). Also Nest's Indigo is lovely. From your list Musk Therapy is my favourite!

Musk Therapy is pretty but unfortunately something about it triggers nausea and a headache. Its very strong! I'm interested in the leather and cedar perfume from Texas. Sounds interesting 🤔

I adore Parisian Musc! Though, to be fair, I love most Matière Première fragrances and am gradually buying the whole line. You mentioned Italian brands that aren’t available in the US. Have you tried Tuttotondo? It’s an indie brand with a gorgeous Tiramisu and a delectable chestnut scent (Castagna).
I love the line also (unfortunately). 😂and I too am slowly acquiring them (PM is my third). The struggle is real.
Oh and no Tuttotondo I’ve never heard of but you bet your bippy I will now…you had me at tiramisu. 🙌❤️

I have two on my wish list, but with an ever growing wish list it's so difficult to figure out which to buy first. 😅 Then the seasons change and so do the fragrance preferences. I don't have a vetiver fragrance yet and am curious about the Armani Prive. - Jenn

I love Rose 31 also. I will say my polished chic perfume would have to be Hermes Galop. I had to have this due to the bottle as I am a rider, (horse woman). I blind bought it and it's pretty darn chic and I am rarely, if ever chic hahaha! I am a jeans and Frye boots sort unless I am in my riding breeches and tall boots along with my horse manure scent. Actually the smell of my horses skin is ambrosia to me anyway so there ya go! oxJulia

Oh gosh it depends on what I’m going for. After a shower hanging out at my house maybe 6-8? If I’m going out for several hours I always moisturize , spray maybe 10-12 times and include spraying on clothes.

Tient de Neige is about as clean and powdery as it gets. I interpret baby powder as being sweeter but the aforementioned is the OG clean and powdery. Try tracking down a sample and see if that’s what you’re looking for. 😉❤️
