I think a better DAC like Denafrips , the S3 stands with IsoAccoustic Gaia , perhaps a class A tube set amp like Willsenton R8i wld do this spkr more justice.
Would you agree that in this setup you are bypassing Rotel’s DAC and Dragonfly Red takes over? Yet at the same time you are using amplification power of the Rotel as Dragonfly Red simply would not be able to drive R3 Metas on it’s own?
If all that is true, then I will soon be running R3 Metas with Chord Mojo 2 connected to analog in Yamaha 800a.
What do you think has been the best amplifier match for the kef r3 meta?
I connected these speakers to several amplifiers, and their performance with the Rotel S14 amplifier was very special.

Audioquest Dragonfly is not the DAC to pair with these speakers. Dragonfly might be good for entry or low-mid category headphones but even an "old" Cambridge Audio Dac Magic was making a far better sound with my system myryad amp and dynaudio speakers.... The price difference? Not necessarily much.
and even from the video you can hear the typical dragonfly sound, a narrowed, lacking in real detail sound. Dragonfly is a nice DAC compared to its size but don't expect real hifi sound from it imho and according to my experiences.
what about bass- is there enough ?
When I turned on this system for the first time, I played the song “Natural Mystic” by Bob Marley For a moment I thought I had connected the subwoofer by mistake….The bass in Kef r3 is very deep and very detailed .. All customers are surprised by the Kef r3 speaker's performance

Would meta 3 work well with just mojo 2 without additional amp?

@@marwanga1124 thanks. Mojo 2 meant to be DAC and amp in one. So why this would not work? Is it because Mojo 2 would not be able to deliver enough power for these speakers? I would really love to integrate Mojo 2 with R3 Meta somehow.
What MOJO port will u use to connect a passive speaker?

There's alot of delicate instruments that you can't hear on this recording, I hope they're coming through for you - the harp is prominent throughtout the track and sounds non existent here.

LOL why does it take 3 different connections to connect ur ipad... I hate that company so much, why can they only ever look inwards? Bluetooth has to be the biggest bane of an "upgrade" we've ever been sold in regards to headphones accessories

Haven’t heard those JBL’s but you are right , KEF speakers aren’t too natural sounding, of course the fanboys will disagree and get angry 😂
They think the R3 is some kind of endgame speaker, most of them have only heard very mainstream speakers
