    I've been getting LG phone since the G4, no problems at all. People have to remember that at the end of the day, it's a phone damnit. I don't expect it to perform like a computer, high end camera or television...I need it to be not bulky, decent battery life, takes good pics and videos, decent price and work.... We keep putting too many requirements for "great phones" when it's main purpose involve making calls and basic level of storing information.... I'll wait for more reviews

    Might have to get one. This looks like such a homerun to me. LG does have some great devices. My only thing is 6.8 inch is massive... 6.4 is a sweet spot to me as far as screens go.
    I've always been a Samsung guy, but lately got a bit bored with them. Lg has a similar feel, but fresher looking to me.
    I'm still rocking the Stylo 5. Still liking it too! But this work of art might be next...
    I feel like everyone is really appreciating LG phones more now, since they announced they are done. 😥

    One thing is absolutely clear with the LG Velvet phone is that one does not need to burn massive holes in their pockets to be able to afford a 5G smartphone. Partially we of course have MediaTek and its Dimensity 1000C chip to thank for that. Along with that the waterdrop camera setup is very impressive and the 4000mAh battery ofcourse. It is very decently priced which is amazing

    It is a excellent phone, I should know I own one myself, it's very beautiful, very thin, capable, and have a very beautiful screen, it can also record 60fps which is also great, plus with that second screen case makes multitasking a breeze, can you imagine on a video call, while communicating on another app and watching a RUclips video all at once? Yeah that's what lg has done, plus the speakers sounds great, and the phone will age well it's good to get away from the Samsung, iPhone popularity contest.

    Good luck getting the dual screen with T-Mobile, they don't offer it.
    They have the Velvet for $600 ($588) and then if you want the dual screen, that works with the T-Mobile phone, you have to pick up it from LG for 200 bucks.
    On top of that at the two T-Mobile stores I stopped in at here in Orange County, CA, one with 5 employees in on the conversation, they didn't know that the Velvet had a dual screen option.

    Wonderful device, I like LG for offering robust features without going down hype lane . 90hz screen?! Useless, physical headphone jack, great feature! Double screen attachment without breakable foldable screen that will break, great feature, long battery life, great feature, less bloatware (I'm looking at you Samsung), great! I think all in all, LG make phones for real people, and as such they tend to get hammered in reviews that are made by people who only look at highest numbers..
    Thank you Lynn for bringing in some nuance..;)

    • @rdflo6739
      @rdflo6739 4 года назад +2

      @@phonkequinox2602 for your average user anything above 60hz is not noticeable by the human eye. Maybe that some hard core Android gamer might notice it, but for the increased battery use and more powerful hardware required to produce that many frames, is say, for a mobile device it's useless.

    • @phonkequinox2602
      @phonkequinox2602 4 года назад +1

      @@rdflo6739 most people can see the difference between 60 90 and 120 hertz. It adds a lot to the user experience and makes the phone feel much smoother. You don't have to be a "hardcore android gamer" it's a literally just a much smoother more responsive phone.

      @Nick_in_the_6ix 4 года назад +7

      @@machtschnell7452 90Hz screens doesn't make a screen great but the color accuracy and vividness does. LG screens are one of the best in the industry for a long time. I don't want a 90Hz screen to suck up my battery and that speed is definitely a cherry on top but not a crucial feature on a phone. It's just trendy. Other reviewers have pointed out how beautiful the 1080p LG screens are on V60 as well as Velvet. Plus it saves a whole lot of battery.

      @xplode1818 But does that under 300 dollar phone has the same power that a higher mid range phone has? I doubt it will play Pubg and COD on high settings, doubt it will charge faster, forget about the looks too. LG's hardware and built quality is unmatched. Plus will it have the best in class mics that LG offers? LG has been making the best audio in the game. Will that 300 dollar phone have wireless charging? Stabilization better than LG? And most important feature the Quad Dacs built in LG phones and Manual camera modes? Samsung can't compete when it comes to features bro. LG is on another league.

    I have an LG v40. Works fine. I like the V60, but I think it is too big. If the v60 was between its current size and the size of the v40 I would have had it already.
    Well, the Velvet is only very slightly smaller than the v60, but still "smaller". And for that reason and interest me. So here's the question for those that may know.
    Would the Velvet actually be an improvement over the v40?
    I mainly use it to stream videos such as RUclips or Netflix. And routine internet connections and searches and so forth and for taking videos and pictures. No gaming

    Loved your review. Especially the shot that included a cat. I was wondering if this phone is dual sim capable. Would you be able to say? Thank you.

    Assuming an identical price, would you recommend the LG Velvet 5G or the Google Pixel 4a (NON-5G)?

    Never ever I have understood why watching two different apps same time until I graduated psychiatric few years ago. It (dual screen) is perfect for example people with ADHD. Yet I have my Nokia 3110i and DSLR for pictures. And other stuff on computer. I see life easier this way.

    In the end its a phone . Not a computer .
    I have had LG since the LG 4 and I'm rocking the 7 still.
    The Velvet is only $360 now and $0 dollars down.
    Should be a good up grade from the 7 can't wait.

    I just acquired this phone, and to me it's way better than the Motorola with the same chipset. Price wise I saved over $100 plus having wireless charging over the edge lol.

    I'll buy a new LG phone when they put a QHD+ OLED display back in it like my current one. If you see this LG 😏 you know.

    LG has always been my go to for the past 5 years. I hope they don't get crazy like the other companies. Never had a problem with their products. I can complain about a few things like battery power, but other than that. Charge ports don't break.I don't live on my phone, so I want to have a good device to connect with family and friends that's it without breaking the bank. Just stick with LG. They won't let you down. You don't really need the extra fluff other phones have.
