Portable USB Fan with Battery

- Опубликовано: 3 окт 2024
- This USB fan has an 18650 battery inside that can provide 4+ hours on the low setting and over an hour and a half on high setting.
UPDATE: After I posted this video, Ace doubled the price of the Handyfan to P399.
The fan includes a micro USB charge cable which you can plug into your existing phone charger or even your computer. The fan can run from a USB power supply even with the battery removed.
At the highest setting, the fan consumes just 2.5 watts.
Interestingly the front plastic grill really makes a big difference to the fan. Removing the grill results in a much softer feeling stream of air.
The type of battery used inside this rechargeable fan is the 18650 which is commonly used in powerbanks and torches.

cool! I was waiting for you to review this product. It's a great solution for power outages.
I do have one of these fans and It really works well for me in some situations. Definitely well-spent
that's an impressive usb fan...im interested
I have exactly the same fan except the LEDs. Red is for charging and Green for full charge. And the Low-Medium-High indicators are also red. I have 6 spare batteries which are 2250mAh (Panasonic- made in Japan). They works well in this fan. Runs for About 3 hours in low mode. But the fan stops when the White LED is turned on.
Eric Ramos that's what i have too, i think they are the lower quality one.
Quick note, when you remove the battery and put it back in, just press off then on it will turn on instantly. :)
ace hardware does test products before they put them on sale. i hope the18650 battery has a protect circuit.
I bought one myself in Farmers Plaza. I measured the capacity of the included battery and it was only 977mAh but the fan lasted for about 3hrs (forgot at what speed).
So, if I used some decent 18650 cells I have laying around I could double or even triple the runtime?
that is nice if its brown out to I dident hear where you got it ? its good you could run it with your computer running to
After reading so many of the comments, it would seem there are many people with problems with this piece of kit. Thanks but no thanks for me on this model I think.
They swapped to selling a lower quality fan :(
I have one, bought from Muslim store for P200. I think mine is the cheap one but it's one month old now and I don't see any problem. The battery inside is Li-ion 18650 and 1000mA.
wow same!
Nice But I have two Black Fans But Sorry the snowflake black fan port got broken but I have the battery charger
good review!
i'd stick with the 18650 rather than using a power bank whenever possible. [most] power banks use 18650, which converts 3.7v to 5v. the process eats up energy (some being converted to heat).
unless the fan's board does the same converstion in voltage to run the dc motor.
share your thoughts on this please.
There are numerous variations available for this product, i have three (FB95B/CDRKing - 180 pesos & The one with USB output)
Guess what? The FB95B consumes almost 5 watts at full power (18650) but it will do 6 watts when its plugged. While the CDRKING version (in which i am so impressed) puts out 7W even at 18650 and plugging it will not change anything. The most disappointing product is the one with USB output in which will only do 3~4 watts at full power (seems the same power consumption as this). Well this made me curious so i opened up the three and the difference Im seeing is that theres a capacitor paralleled in the fan output (25V 47uf) + an inductor in which both not present in the other versions. Overall im very satisfied with the CDRking version (180 pesos) also take note, i have tested the battery capacity of the CDrking version and its in the satisfying 963mah compared to ~500ish of the two.
How to turn on the LED light? Sometimes turns on. And when on can't turn off.
Does it has any charge indicator to say how much charge is left and when does it gets fully charged?
THIS FAN AS BRUSHLESS MOTOR OR BRUSHED ???
Does it come with that battery? Wow! That's a good deal! Most rechargeable AA batteries are around that price. So, it's like e fan is free. Haha.
Yep, it includes the 18650 battery! :) It really is a good deal!
RamTheGamerTv Yep, it's also P200 :) Looks the same but I don't know about the circuitry and battery.
I have same fan but battery is not working Properly 😞
I have portable fan like that but its color mint green. How to know if it's already full charge?
Please launch. Batterybox. With any chemical mixture. For. Charging battery with usb
Hello, I was wondering if you can make a comparison video versus the version of CDR king.
how do i know if it's fully charged?
+renee irwin the red charge light turns off :)
+Gadget Addict hey there! How long does it take for it to turn off automatically? It's been more than 3 hours since I plugged it in and the light still doesn't turn off.
Your video is nice but somewhat difficult to understand. Because, you speak so fast.
When I unplug the USB it doesn't work
How to identify if fan is full charge??
How can you charge the fan?
+Mini Maine lovers connect the supplied micro USB cable to whatever USB charger you use for your phone or tablet :)
my mini fan doesn't work it is the li-ion 18650-3.7
having a hard time finding this one. ebay.com only has those cdrking ones, and even those i can't tell which is the brushless motor
My sister got that but the battery is color blue
Please where can I buy the Fan in Kaduna Nigeria and what is the price?
Are the one sold in lazada the same?
They look the same, but I can't say if the quality of the electronics and battery are the same.
I have one it work without usb thing and it don't take battery is it good
Ps:it's rechargeable
need advice, i bought 2 of those. 1 can be power by USB and the other can't. I have tried switching cables, battery still no work. is the other fan faulty? I can power 1 of them via USB power 5.1V/2A. The other one don't work at all via USB power. Thanks bro.
Do i need to remove the battery to charge my fan??
No. without the battery the electricity cant be stored unless you are using a custom 3.7 18650 battery charger
Brushless motor?
I have that mini fan
yes there is in lazada
Time to make one that is 5watt!
I have the problem which the fan is not functioning with the battery. Same just like u show in the video. The battery is in the fan for long time not in use. So how can i solve this problem if i choose not to buy new battery
Hi, if you left the battery in the fan for a long time, then it would have discharged to less than 2.5 volts and it would no longer be able to power the fan.
Since the battery is overdischarged and not functional, the only option is to either purchase a new battery or run the fan with a power bank.
I got a koopower fan just the exact same but It doesn't let me use speed 1 or 3 unless I charge it
While charging I kept the battery in their and it's been charging for three hours
Still doesn't work and the only way the fan works is if it's plugged into USB
Any solution to this ?
Some of these rechargeable fans won't charge the internal battery if you use the fan while it's plugged in. You might have to leave it charging with the fan turned off. Then when it's fully charged, all the settings should work.
i removed the battery from my aunt's fan and put it in my battery replaceable powerbank 😂 i hope she doesnt notice i swapped the battery 😂
haha let's hope she doesn't notice :P Is her battery larger?
the same size but i can't figure out if it's the same model. but hey it works haha :D
how mah and ampere battery power congenital fan?
where is i brought this item in which price
hey i took off the battery of that fan and it stoped working ... any solution
+Sujal Sapkota put the battery back into the fan. Press the off button a few times. Then press on the on button.
hello again :) between the iwata and ace fan which of the two is the most powerful. sorry i had to ask i am looking for a good fan to buy. thank you in advance :)
Shortly after this video, Ace swapped to a lower quality fan which is comparable with those being sold by CDRKING.
Gadget Addict i think i should go for the iwata then. thank you for your help :)
Gadget Addict the one i got is the lower quality.
I have that too the same color and the same color of the battery
How is there to buy speed?
can I use vtc4 batteries on this?
Can I use the wall charger to it directly if the battery is removed?
Yes :) I showed that in the video :)
+Gadget Addict have you tried the cdrking version of this rechargable fan?
Nope. I've seen it in store but I haven't tried it. I wasn't going to get one of these fans at all. But then I saw the staff messing around with it in Ace and It convinced me to get one. And I'm happy I did, cos I've been using it every day since!
where in the philippines.... can i buy some 18650 battery?
+Hari Bayabao OLX , greenhills, recover from old laptop batteries and powerbanks. Maybe e-gizmo and I haven't checked lazada.
can i use vape batteries in this? it is also 18650
I have a question? I just bought it for 200+ Pesos right know but it doesn't have a USB cable on it? Is that normal? And also can I safely use it directly to an AC source without the battery?
Ace have swapped suppliers more than once already. So their current offering isn't the same as what you saw in this video. Does the box say it's meant to come with a cable? And yes, pretty much every USB fan can be operated by an AC USB adapter without any battery installed.
How will i know if its charging, mine shows red color and then later turns to blue. I do not know what it means, i thought it would stay in red until its charged. Any idea?
+Joshua Vizag (Joe) when it turns blue, it's fully charged :)
First one who've seen this vide
i tried charging it, but the light keeps on blinking. is that bad?
Some fans blink the LED when charging. It could be normal for your fan.
oh, thank you!
hey, actually..I buy this fan for the first time..and I charged it, but how can I know this fan its full?
*is
mine can turn red light into green which mean its fully charged up.
I have that exact kind of fan and I bought it from ACE Hardware too. But the light on the setting is red, even though I just charged it. And when I try to turn on the LED light, the light turns on but fans stops. Do you know what could be the problem?
Most likely you have a similar but different fan. Some fans are designed with the LED as a forth independent setting and won't run the fan and LED at the same time. I'm not sure why your charge light would be red while running, maybe that's just the way your one is designed?
how can I fix my port because it's broken and the usb port went off
It should be easy to solder back on, if you have a soldering iron. Otherwise you can take it to a repair shop. It should take just seconds.
ohh ok thank you
which do you prefer the iwata fan or the snowflake brand? I'm afraid it will overcharged and explode
+Herminilo Singcol for airflow and run-time, the iwata. But it doesn't charge and operate at the same time which is annoying.
Gadget Addict thanks.
Gadget Addict wait. one more thing does the snowflake brand overcharges?
+Herminilo Singcol not in my experience
Im using the same fan. Bought it from ace hardware. But whenever i try to remove the battery while charging it automatically turns off. And whenever i try to connect it to a charger without the battery it doesn't turn on. I don't know why. Can you help me with this?
Are you sure it's the same? Since this video, Ace started selling a lower quality version of this fan. You can tell the difference between the original one shown in this video and their new lower quality version by looking at the plastic. If it's shiny thin plastic, it's the new lower quality version. Anyway, putting that aside, have you tried using a different USB cable than the one which came with the fan?
during the time of charging what this fan running ???
You can run the fan at the same time as charging it.
I bought one and at the back of its box, on important safeguards, it says "Remove battery when using direct current (DC)". I'm kinda confused, does that mean that it is not recommended to keep the battery intact while charging the fan? Will doing so damage the fan? Thanks.
Isn't it that a battery is an example of DC? It's really confusing for me. Huhu :(
Some fan manufacturers recommend to remove the battery when running the fan from USB power. They're worried that charging the battery and operating the fan at the same time might draw too much power and cause overheating or other issues. It really depends on the quality of the fan.
Thanks! :)
i saw some of mutual friends in fb post that kind fan explode after that i dont want to buy that fan. i dont know what brand though
i think the fan explode is from a divisoria fan. The fan this reviewer is using is from ace hardware
+Les M I guess the problem is there's many different versions of the fan and some are likely made much cheaper than others and without any protection circuitry for the battery. It's like the super cheap low quality hover boards that caught on fire. It doesn't inherently mean all hover boards are dangerous and are gonna catch on fire :)
+Gadget Addict I agree. It's the cheap 18650s without protection circuit that cause fire.
Hopefully that 18650 is circuit protected :).
+Gadget Addict i dont know the specific model but i think itd a cheap one because the color is neon green. . its the battery that exploded. what are the reason why battery will explode one is quality yes . but how can we prevent that from happening?
what about laptob how its work ??
You mean charging it from a laptop USB port?
can it use without battery
Yes, remove the battery and run it directly from a USB cable.
Thank you.Is it good fan for buy.
stella dias Yes, it's well made and has good battery life :)
THANK YOU VERY MUCH YOUR SERVICE
if you buy that is bangketa there not safe to use and charge
I have one!
Where can i buy the usb volt meter ?
Amazon, eBay and the official Portapow website :)
Gadget Addict thanks man.
where did you buy?
+xhappy _ ace hardware :) they had them under the counter rather than on the shelves. At least that's how it was at the store I went to.
+Gadget Addict I checked the cdrking and they have the same thing idk if the battery is 18650
+xhappy _ it's probably the same battery cos it's so common in these types of gadgets. How much was it at Cdrking ? Although they all look the same, there may be a difference with the electronics inside and the battery quality. Could be the same, better or worse.
+Gadget Addict I will buy tomorrow but that changes my mind.. oh I bought the mini usb fan not in cdrkin but in daiso japan..
+Gadget Addict i bought one from cdr king its only 160 pesos
Where'd you get this one?
+Aoife Ackerman ace hardware :)
Cool! Didn't know ace hardware also sells this. Thanks!
in terms of air output, this or iWata?
Is there a pocket wifi than can turn on using an external power supply and the battery removed? Like this one? Haha
Unfortunately not :( I even tried a few things to try trick the pocket wifi into thinking a battery was installed but so far I've had no luck.
I did that too. I ended up buying a globe prepaid home wifi and I found out that globe's home wifi's SSID cannot be hidden. That is a big problem for me :( and I also bought a 12v to 5v USB cable in case I want to plug it in my powerbank and also for power outage.
Mara kedai ustaz
ye hame cheye
I RECOMMEND BUYING IT AT SM AND
Ace hardware ba yung sa kanya?
+Shisui Uchiha oo
But I got it when it first come out it cost me 1000 pesos
i also have 1 :D
Sathyaraj

I own the Holmes small fans better $8bucks
Mines goessssssss 6hour that's bull shit I have nooooooo window no around air this fan works greatttttttttt Holmes is better
i bought mine in lazada for my kids to use it at school but so disapointed they gave me a broken batteries.....what a waste..
Lazada offers you buyer protection. You can return it for free by LBC and get a refund or replacement. Make sure you put the battery in the right way around.
can i use vtc4 in this?
how can i know if the fan is full charged?
It varies between different fans but usually the charge LED will either change color or turn off once the battery is fully charged.
