  • Thought this was another fascinating example of the types of issues and personalities our courts deal with day in & day out as well as why it’s ALWAYS a good idea to prepare for court seriously…ya NEVER know what’s gonna happen…
This remix is intended to provide better insight into how our courts and the folks who run them administer justice to the public they serve. Remember they have to deal with folks who are often having their worst day on a daily basis.
This commentary remix work constitutes a fair use of any copyrighted materials under section 107 of the US copyright law. Video was edited only to add relevant commentary and to reduce time in the hopes it will be more convenient to be viewed by more folks thereby raising public interest. All defendants are innocent until they aren’t…officially.

Squish I LOVE IT. You are the only channel I am actually a member of and its because of gems 💎 like this. I can't IMAGINE how much boring bullshit you have to wade through to find this stuff. I hope LTWM and ALL the other creators who use your content appreciate just how much work goes into finding these. That judge just gets some crazy ads people, but whats up with that relationship between the judge and his court assistant(?). He's the boss in court right? I feel like if I were a judge, I would never let a subordinate talk to me like that in front of all the people in attendance. This is the second video I've heard her off camera sorta bitching at the judge. The 1st video I saw she was arguing with him in front of the plaintiff/defendant. I get it. Its small claims court, but I don't think judge Whopner would let that shit slide. The judge do kinda seem like he could get on your nerves. Whats with him and really shitty food examples to compare real world situations? He does that shit everytime he's trying to explain something to a dumbass

its funny...beyond the shock factor of the defendant, each and every reason you called out were why i put this up...LOTS of observations/issues/personalities that make this VERY thought provoking..i think a lot of it is the lawyer less nature of teh small claims process and MOSt of the folks in this court are in NO way prepared to plead their cases the first time around and likely the first time ever having to prepare any type of true documentation...

They also have an associate who sits there also, and is a law graduate, and works for a specific amount of time in chambers. I was also frequently in chambers, collecting paperwork necessary for the next hearing, and any other item that a Justice would require. If I, or the Justice’s associate interrupted ANY hearing in the way that this woman did, we would have been out of a job. How dare she, it is not her place, and she shows no respect for the Judge. @@karenglenn6707 I wonder if this woman is an example of the employment fallout the States is having that’s a result of Covid? So many people lost their jobs by being laid off or the business literally closing during the initial months and year of the outbreak. The dumbfounding thing is that, instead of people resuming work (or finding new work) once restrictions were lifted, people instead chose not to return to ANY type of work at all! Unemployment benefits and savings stretch only so far, with most people having long ago run out. So, I’m genuinely perplexed at what they’re paying their bills with. Whatever it is, I certainly missed the memo!
Anyway, from what I understand, there’s been a total “flip” of power on the employment scene. I watched this skit by Drew Talbert (hilarious Canadian comedian and career-long restaurant waiter) where his character is interviewing for a waiter job. The “employer” asks the traditional questions and then Drew’s waiter character flips the dialogue, basically telling the employer he’s aware they can’t find qualified people, and then tells the employer what the last few businesses had offered him in a “top THAT” kind of scenario you’d expect in a Fortune 500-type of employment negotiation. It’s quite funny, but it’s also quite the commentary on the times! (Check out his RUclips channel if you want a good giggle. He plays all the parts, with wigs and everything, and is almost genius in his comedy!)

It is amazing how many people are misunderstanding the Judge's actions here as a loss of control. First of all, judges who deal with the public have to operate differently than judges who deal with lawyers. He deals with people who have Googled something and filed a case instead of people trained for years on how to conduct themselves. If judges like him held everyone in contempt that spoke to him like that, the jails would be full and no cases would get heard. He has to balance between getting things done and chaos. Don't misunderstand his actions as a lack of a backbone either. He gives civilians a wide berth, but isn't afraid to drop his hammer either. However, he wants people to understand why they lost instead of just ruling against them. Someone who loses but doesn't understand why will lose any trust they had in the justice system. Sometimes the people don't get it regardless, but by taking the time to explain things to them, he is not only helping those who listen, but everyone else who is listening too. Nothing the judge did was wrong or out of the ordinary for a low level court who hears self-represented cases.

Indeed. Though they shouldn’t put up with absolutely anything, they give a fair degree of leeway for a multitude of reasons. Primarily they want/need to get as many smaller matters through and out the door to prevent am already clogged system any more bunged up with delays. Throwing contempt charges left, right and centre is going to do the exact opposite. It also means that when they do have to land someone with a contempt, the person can’t have any complaints.

The clerk is a disrespectful Karen who shouldn't be working in that position. I don't even think I'd trust her bagging my groceries.

I wondered who kept interrupting. You don’t hear other court admins interrupt so many times so rudely.

Lady Wilson has nothing to stand on…she pled guilty to a lesser charge. Case closed!

Is that the court clerk who is catching an attitude with everyone and interrupting the judge?

I used to work in a garnishment dept. I had to take people’s money due to court orders or liens or back child support. The customers who called were very irate. I would try to get them to understand. Most would calm down. But some said, YOU HAVE A BLESSED DAY. I didn’t realize they might have been kinda swearing at me. No sure.
