They will finally have WiFi support when WiFi has been replaced by some new thing. By the time WiFi is completely supported, we'll probably all be using some kind of system based on quantum entanglement that has extremely low latency anywhere in the solar system. Software drivers in BSD for that should be available by 2135. 🤣
I want to use GhostBSD but I cannot find a supported and up to date Web Browser from the app store that will play Amazon Music which is a deal breaker for me. Of course, manually updating Firefox from the settings page does not work under BSD. Does anyone know of a solution that will play Amazon Music?
Yes, I’m in a similar situation. Easy solution is to install chrome or something like that in the Linuxulator. There is a script called linux-browser-installer which does the entire process automatically, and you’re left with a web browser that can play Widevine DRM content.
@@RoboNuggie It want to install Centos 7 files. Can we install it on top of our existing linux env - rl9? -- Maybe we could install entire linux chrome.rpm?
Does GhostBSD support WIFI 5/6? I'm stuck with 12Mb/s internet speeds on FreeBSD - Would love to have version of that system, that I can preload my configuration + better Wi-Fi and intel GPU drm-kmod-s... I'm stuck with 'drm-51-kmod', newer version installs and I don't have TTYs (ctrl+alt+F1 - nothing - .. may be lenovo acpi??)
No.... GhostBSD is dependent on FreeBSD Stable, and if it's not there, then it isn't here... but you know, the FreeBSD Foundation is funding work on that, so you may be in luck soon...
@tendosingh5682 Because I gave up on Linux since Linux seemed to make wrong decisions one after another... also, Linux is infested with Zealots that are counter productive. actually, BSD has so much potential and is less divided than Linux.
BSD WiFi @2.4GHz only; WiFi 7 support coming... 2030? 😜
:-)

@kovacsdavid4362 : widevine works on Chrome on FreeBSD without using the Linuxulator.....maybe the packages needed are offered by GhostBSD...
@kovacsdavid4362 what if I don't want it to install other linux env, but instead install chrome in mine rhel9.5 env?
You need to install foreign-cdm as well as Chromium and then your DRM will play.

Great review Robo , thanks :)
Thank you!

Does Ghostbsd use sandboxing for its apps? Does it collect telemetry?
If you care about that use a Linux dist like Tails etc.
I don't think it does - for both it's a no....
funny thing to me, I can't seem to get the installer to run. I click on the install icon on the DT and nothing takes place
Awesome. Wish i could use it on my integrated graphics GPU laptop, but it didnt install. Escape from systemd, hasnt fared well for me, yet.
Is it possible to install the Software Station on ordinary FreeBSD?
It is call station tweak because my French got in the way when I named it.😂
C'est la vie 😁
Heaven knows what it would be called if I attempted to say it in French.... probably "cabbage souffle " (I can't speak French) :-)
@@RoboNuggie I will probably rename soon.

did you get the scanner to work
I got a laptop recently...
I intend to install GhostBSD.
Why BSD and not a mature Linux Dist with lots more software options?

Best regards😀
But outdated DE
. .. we want kde gnome
I use GhostBSD XFCE community edition. Don't care for KDE/Gnome, but LXQT can be made to work.
Yeah I totally agree. If it was available in Plasma or Gnome the likelihood of more people tried it would have increase in my opinion.
OpenBSD have good plasma6 ;-)
Wayland is probably coming in a decade. Kde and Gnome are trying their best to drop X.
@@keyboard_g Yet Wayland doesn't help us much with security, so no server usage - longer waiting for desktop...
I love GhostBSD! I've been a user since the beginning 😊. Unfortunately, I'm completely broke. Otherwise, I would support
You have supported by leaving a comment! It's that easy...... :-)
Ok why not try again.
BSD instead of Limux, no way.
