LAxD Panel 2022 with Claude Young, Alan Oldham, Dj Dex, Juliet Mendoza & Max Watts

On August 22nd of 2022 LAxD, a collective event organized by The Black Lodge, Elbow Grease, and Architects & Heroes, launched it's maiden voyage into highlighting the cultural exchange between two cities that have been pivotal in the evolution of underground electronic music. As a dedicated bridge between the roots of this music from Detroit and the contemporary nightlife landscapes of Los Angeles, this first event of the series highlighted some of deepest talents from both cities.
The following is from the “In Conversation” segment of the evening, an intimate discussion led by Stephen R with some of the artists of the night, including Detroit Techno legends CLAUDE YOUNG, ALAN OLDHAM aka DJ T-1000, Underground Resistance LA delegate DJ DEX aka NOMADICO, JULIET MENDOZA of Jackin Jill's LA fame, and Max Watts, a representative of the next generation of Detroit electronic musicians who also has roots in LA.
The musical portion of the night featured Claude Young, Alan Oldham, Dj Dex, Max Watts, Kosmik, Juliet Mendoza, Dave Aju, Rexgelle, Stephen R, Rodney, and visuals by Gay Felony - a beautiful night of sonics and visual distortions in LA unlike any other.
