American Film Noir is a genre known for its explicit aesthetic, gritty atmosphere, and political contexts, but what is the relationship between the three? Today, I seek to answer that question by analyzing the cinematic representation of city spaces in film noir to perform a capitalist critique I argue is key to understanding the movement.
