Hello, just wanted to thank you for posting this videos, it helps me to improve my Tai Chi Yang form that I learned online. I see you know exactly and show all the details of moovements. I wish I could take a class with you. ❤
"empty emptiness & Angie&Keith Wellbeings-feelbetter" - Ya'll knock it off now. If you have practiced our Grand Ultimate Art for as long as indicated, then we are brothers & sisters in a small group that has learned that locking horns is for the youngsters, and the grandest aspect of our lives is the inner peace and excellent health Tai Chi has brought us. Not to mention living pain-free as a geezer. Keeping the old jalopy going smooth is where it is at, and one can always do the vicarious battle via electronics. If you live in a precarious area, carry a pistol, or move. But for heaven's sake salute your fellow Taiji / Tai Chi practitioners. If you are a young-un, and want to get after it, study Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, wrasslin, Judo, Aiki-jitsu, Tae Kwon Do, and then private study with Chen Zhonghua and you should be good to go.
All very nice but how about showing some Yang style free boxing showing the priciples and fajin applied in actual combat not compliance drills, real yang taijiquan boxing like your great great uncle Yang Pan Hao. Yang family boxing has such a fantastic history and a real Yang Taiji boxing master should be able to take on and defeat any boxing chalenge including modern mma.
@@healthyandhappy5307 i would agree with that in the official Yang linage today, by that i mean the linage holders that are decendents of Yang Cheng Fu. I have seen nothing but form, simple "applications" on compliant partners and simple push hands, no boxing which is understandable as Cheng Fu did not fight although his jin was powerful and could fa great distance. I see no footage of Yang Jun with this ability. However many on the Yang Shao Hao side still have complete martial transmision of martial taijiquan and its skills....and video of them is out there.
Ha ha I love Tai Chi and have practiced it for nearly 40 years but its a fantasy to think that Tai Chi is a match for MMA, as many Tai Chi masters have found out to their embarressment
@@keithgraham9345 then you have never met a real taijiquan boxer. Do not confuse the ability to fajin and manifest the principles of taijiquan with the slow armwaving of tai chi practiced by most today. If you have practiced taijiquan for 40 years and can not stand up to any other fighter you have either learned nothing, had an incomplete or fake transmission or you teacher is rubish. The "masters" that you speak of were not real taiji masters, their linage was broken or fake, they had no jin, peng or song thus no real taijiquan. There are those with real taijiquan today that have this skill, if you look you will find them. Kids today are impressed by mma because they have never felt fajin.
@@keithgraham9345 if after 40yrs you do not have sticking ability(causing your opponent to stick to you NOT the other way around),if you have no fajin, if your, peng is not there, if your song is not deep and constant, if you dont understand the 5 punches and 3 kicks, if you have no root, if you cannot manifest these atributes that are the basics of taijiquan and cultivated in form, standing practice and push hands before you learn to spar and ultimately box then it is not taijiquan. Slow armwaving and shifting weight from one leg to the other is not taijiquan.

So true. Well said ! But the biggest problem is the real fighting art is lost !

I just cannot follow any of his instructions. Unsubscribed.
This is a challenging form. If one doesn't have patience and willingness to work at learning the move you aren't likely to go very far in tai chi.
