I was s resident of Cumberland, full time for years. Retained rights agreement, till my husband died, it was for his life. This looks like little Cumberland Island ...the horse swam from big Cumberland, it appears. Any idea where you were. So neat to have the opportunity to capture that. They’d come up and peek in my windows and drink fresh water. So did turkeys, pigs, etc. they are very territorial. I’d alwsys recognize horses and their colts in different areas of the island.
Hi Sandra us this is in Christmas Creek in between the 2 islands. One bourse came over from The big island and the family from the little island wasn’t having it. They fought and eventually the stallion from little Cumberland won.
Where's Cumberland Island at?? I've been to Assateague Island Maryland many many times...with the wild ponies. Never heard of Cumberland Island tho. They're SERIOUS huh!?!!😳👊🏻❤🇺🇲lol Pretty cool Oh wow!! The terrain looks alot like Assateague Island. Damn!! They're really swimming at the end!! Anybody else take notice to the fish that jumped outta the water when the horses were heading towards the boat in the beginning of the clip??😁 I saw it!
beautiful bean footage, love horses, by the way just for future reference, always remember that horses deal with pressure and release, your presence alone creates pressures too that can interfere with horsey behavior. best to keep some distance, and remember that. many times people dont realize how much their presence and activities create some behaviors in horses without realizing it that can be negative. when that stallion circled around it was probably because he was thinking of crossing back over but he saw you there and decided to circle around, eventually the pressure from the other stallion pushed him past you. boy I could sit in a boat quietly and watch them all day while I read a book or birdwatch. looks like a lovly place.
I lived on Cumberland island for years. They’d drink out of fresh water and peel in my window and had NO problem with human damage presence. Unless, of course, you got in their face! Which, people (day visitors) did! One man was almost scalped when he thought he was the horse whisperer lol It’s okay, not criticizing ...you just don’t hsve firsthand knowledge. This is true for much of life
These horses have been here since the Spaniards. Like the wild hogs, they are actually s unique species ...they can drink the brackish water. They are on the ocean side in waves of the beach. I lived there 24/7/365 for many years. I’ve seen it. This is their normal.
Wow so cool to watch the stallions especially

@@angelad1737 they, most of them, can swim. Most people can swim too but people who can swim still drown. Same goes for horses
