      I use to watch you every day many months ago (Deal Busters is my ID) and just got frustrated that I couldn't make it work. I realized that trying to sell my unwanted ebay items was not going to work. You have once again opened my eyes to wanting to try WhatNot again. Just hope my local bins ( haven't been to in a year because i source at the Flea)is not been over run by others sourcing for others like yourself.

    The Whatnot live selling of items at very discount prices will be great, for a while- till the inevitable over saturation takes its monkey grip on the market. I on the other hand have a special niche on eBay that wouldn’t work on whatnot. Its interesting and tempting but I’ve never seen or heard of bin sales in my area.

    I think whatnot is fantastic for sellers who have access to the bins. But sellers like myself who don’t? We would not be profitable.
    More power to those who can do it and have the margins to do so.

      Yes and no. Beau is paying the average prices that a reasonable Goodwill would charge. It's a volume game. He loses money on many specific items, but gets into the black with items that sell with margins high enough to offset those losses. Thus a profit.

    Nike live selling last season clothing in mass is the same as heavily discounting meat that expires tomorrow at a grocery store. It means you won't sell the new stuff as fast as you should. The profits have already been made on the old stuff. Some places just throw it away because that means less people buying at full price. The full price stuff needs to be sold at that point. Nike has no incentive to live sell the last season directly to the public.

      And meat makes for a nasty shoe.

    Great content! Quick question did you just start selling on your first show really good items for a dollar start? Or what was your strategy on your first show and did you sell any items , starting our first show at the end of this month but not sure how it’s going to go

    • @BeauJohnson1
      @BeauJohnson1  9 дней назад +1

      I started with items I was liquidating out of my eBay store. I stared at my cost of goods so I would not lose any money if items sold.

    how do you share your live sale on Facebook?

      You can multi stream your whatnot to other platforms. Which is why it is important to grow your social media in addition to doing whatnot.

    When figuring out profit do people also add in the cost throughout the year on inventory that didn't sell and not just the cost of items that sold. Essential that's money out. When i see certain RUclipsrs they tell us cost of goods only on the what sold stuff im curious how much they have into the stuff that didn't sell yet. I just feel if a RUclipsr is going to share how much they made weekly they should also share how much they spent that week whether it sold yet or just not listed yet. Its a more accurate number. Maybe im just crazy but the numbers they share with the IRS should be the same numbers they share here. I understand everyone has different expenses but its important to be transparent when trying to influence others. Whether the unlisted or unsold is an expense or looked at as an investment it should be disclosed.

      we sell out of inventory daily, so we have no carry over. we also share our buy cost, taxes, fees. hope that helps. we spent $72,000 at GW in 2023

    1. It takes less than 4 minutes to list an item on ebay if you use Sell Similar. That includes taking the pictures.
    2. A ton of ebayers source their goods from Whatnot and selling it at a mark up.
    I'm incline to believe this guy is talking out of his ass

      Most of our buyers on whatnot are ebay resellers. We sell stuff cheaper than the thrift store.

    Beau love your content as always! Unfortunately this interview only strengthened my decision to stay away from live selling. I can see myself being put in a morally questionable position if I was incentivized to get people to make snap judgement purchases without proper time to make good financial decisions.
