Miku decided that her vocals weren't strong enough and they auditioned Saiki (lead vocals). In fact, their first video, Thrill, Miku is faking playing the guitar and Kanami (lead guitar) played the Rhythm and lead guitar. Later on, Kanami became Miku's guitar teacher and because of this, Misa was started off doing much more lead work on the bass to lighten the load off of Kanami, until they could get Miku up to speed on the guitar. That was one of the ways that Band-Maid had to find their "sound" and style. Pretty cool if you ask me...
It's hard to fathom how good Band-Maid are. Song after song, they are brilliant. They don't have a bad song in their 100+ catalogue. And they have to be seen live. I'll get my chance in Tokyo at the end of November. I've got a feeling they'll be the best two shows I'll ever see. And that's saying something, because I saw the AC/DC RIP Bon Scott show in Perth (my hometown) in 1981 and no other show has come close to it yet. Peace out, brothers in rock!

Rock starts with drums and bass. Add a killer guitar and you are set. For the latest Band Maid example of this idea, there is a clip from their recent gig at Lollapalooza 2023 floating around the net. Two songs back to back, Dice segue into Hate. Hard rock all the way.
Oh, Misa🎸 She's the best, heaviest and grooviest bass player on the planet, right now. I really love it when she and Mincho play solo back to back or even at the same time!
She did mention there were a few times she had to deal with 'over friendly' customers. And some aggressive one too if I remember right. She seemed to enjoy working at the @HomeCafe, she praised them during her leaving speech. (She left when she won an idol competition which went on to form Lil Cumin).
Wait until you have a chance to see them live- I'm 71 have seen them all- Zep, Bowie, Allman Bros, Springsteen, Deep Purple, etc etc. No one is better no one has scripted 100+ songs without ONE clinker, impossible. But LIVE it is truly a religious experience.
