I remember when this song first came out, my mum brought it for me on cd to go in my portable cd player and head phones, she got it as a Xmas present and when I opened it in the morning I was so chuffed, I remember saying "this is the best Xmas ever". Sadly my mum is no longer with us anymore, so whenever I hear this, it takes me back to that day. 😔

To those that are saying “I never knew Kate was a singer”, don’t get too excited, sadly she’s not. This was the only song she actually ever recorded, and it was only a hit in Europe, particularly Kate’s home country, the UK. Kate only agreed to do it on the understanding it was only for promotion of the film “A Christmas Carol” and on the understanding that all royalties earned from the record sales went to charities that she supported, which they did. Kate was offered record deals following this, but she turned them all down. She was born to act, not to sing, and she cringes whenever someone even so much as mentions this song in an interview, because she hates her own singing voice, which to be fair, most of us hate listening to ourselves back on video or record. It’s a shame though, she’s got a beautiful voice.

This song is seriously underrated
Well, it's not the bottom in 2001-2002 and has been in the No.1 position in several countries, this song also received a lot of good criticism. And Kate even donated the income for sargent cancer care for children and national society for The prevention of cruelty to children. so you'd better find out the truth before commenting.
It's part of the soundtrack of christmas carol move number 100 and not even the main soundtrack. It's a miracle it got to 18 Million views, it wasn't even on the radio and Kate Winslet isn't famous as a singer so people wouldn't go looking for her songs, she's an actress with a minor (though important) role in this movie.
So: how would you even find it if you hadn't either checked the soundtrack of the movie (hardly anyone does this), heard about it from friends (who did check) or stumbled over it, possibly while looking for christmas carol movies to watch on youtube.
I fell in love with the song while watching the movie on TV years ago and cried when the video was disabled in my countr due to copyright, but I just found out that it's available again, soo....yay!
