I purchased a used E- Revo 2.0 last summer. one of the rear metal drive shafts were bent. It did not have the Limiter straps. Thanks to your video, I fixed the issues this car has. I watched several other videos saying you do not need the limiter straps. Mabe it was for an updated model or something that was new and everything was still tight and not broke in yet. I love the E- Revo 2.0 and it's Mini Me model. For the money, I think the E- Revo is a great basher!
I am going to probably DIY my own solution for this. I have been researching my first 6s RC car for a week or two and I keep coming back to this one. I am about to pull the trigger. My daughter wanted an RC car for her birthday and I wanted to keep it cheap, so we went with a Redcat Blackout XBE Pro which has been a lot of fun and very durable once I put a rear bumper on it. I hadn't driven an RC since before she was born and now she's 14! Now it's time for Dad to get his OWN TOY!!! The limiting strap idea seems to be the best solution I am seeing for this issue, which seems by far to be the main gripe about this vehicle. I have seen lot's of youtubers who are now quite happy with their ERevos after installing. I will go with the same idea, but I don't like the idea of wrapping straps around the brace like that. They may eventually get sliced. I am thinking I will make shorter straps and affix them directly to the rear brace with a screw and nut, just short of full extension...
Hey Mark! This video just popped up in my feed. I wanted to pop in and let you know that I was the original person to do this mod. Its actually how my RUclips channel got started. I put the straps on to prevent the E Revo from pulling its shocks apart. Mine kept ripping the shock ends off. The mod has been fantastic and I have had no issues with my shock ends coming off since I did this mod years ago. I hope its working well for you also. Just in case you are curious, here is the original video where I did the mod. Its one of my first videos and its so bad lol. ruclips.net/video/MJOgcxF_D4w/видео.html
Yea I was surprised you didn’t have these upgrades on it! Seen a ton of people say it completely resolved their issues and since it’s not transferring more energy into the car and instead into the straps I think it should be great for the car in general
Any common issues anymore? Most people say the only common problems are the shocks and the tie rods, and both of those issues have been almost completely fixed. Maybe a bent tie rod but better than pulled out rod ends
@@jarrettmaltry6305 exactly but sadly i have to report my E-REVO 2.0 transmission died on me both diffs are still fine but it makes a terrible grinding noise and just wont move sad 100$ replacement but for owning it 9 months and beating the shit out of it I think that's not too bad all things considered other than that just bent tirod's and tires blowing off the rim

With the 90mm, try putting a zip tie at the back end of the chassis brace on each side behind each strap, if that makes sense. That way the straps don’t slide as much
On my Mini e-revo, the left rear shaft kept popping out and two things seemed to fix it: I screwed the pillow balls further in on the ends of the suspension arms and I increased the oil weight in the shocks, preventing the suspension assembly from extending too quickly which was causing the suspension to over-extend and allowed the shaft to pop out of the drive cup. It used to happen within minutes, but last bash no issues since those two changes.
Revo gang. I just got standard revo 3.3 tires to swap the platinums because I drive on pavement a lot and that will destroy the tread on revo platinum response tires.
it’s not the downward droop that’s the issue. I find it’s upward travel of one corner on a bad landing that let the drive shaft pop out. I had to put washers on the rear shock shafts to stop the arms from over traveling up on compression. it’s fixed my issue on my erevo.
Hey Mark I did mine through the brace but I filed the edges of that hole bc mine seemed a little sharp. I didn't want the brace slicing the straps with continued jumping.
I got a Arrma Kraton EXB about 3 weeks ago and have drove it 15+ times and haven't broke anything yet. I also have a Slash that broke every time I drove it. Give the Arrma Kraton a try. You will be impressed.
The EXB is an over priced roller with weak rear diffs. Tons of RUclips vids showing EXB’s on the bench from frustrated new owners trying to figure out how to fix another poor diff design from Arma. Reminds me of the early version Kraton and Outcast that needed to have the diffs shimmed out of the box. My early version Outcast gave me so many headaches that I hardly drive it anymore. Plus, the chassis bent after about 4 months of driving and bashing. Aside from that, I’d rather do a simple bump stop mod or limiting straps than have to tear open diffs and figure what shim balance will work with the right diff oil. That’s another area where Arma drives me crazy. Why do their rigs come with low weight diff oil that have the viscosity of melted butter?
If you're truly breaking a slash every time, you're probably doing something wrong. Sounds like user error or just a made-up story. Where can we find your multiple videos of that for verification?
@@malcolmportelli9059 Thanks for the information. I am still looking for recommendation on whether to buy the 80mm or 85mm limiting straps. In addition, do you know if straps on front are recommended? Thanks again...
@@Nerf-Or-Nothing-z9o I have no idea if straps in front are worth it. I believe have 85mm straps. 80 are quite limiting and may reduce performance and increase the chance of rolling over.
Instead of bumpstops in shocks, put the smallest o-rings I could fit, because bump stops limit travel too much. Plus of o-rings vs straps is that the rubber damps the top out vs yank of straps. No issues with rod ends popping off or axles falling out.
