There are options to set cursor to memory so your menu will stay on the same battle command when you open it again. There's also an option to turn off the controller speaker.
You also don't have to play every mini-game at Gold Saucer. Technically only the one Chocobo race after everyone is captured in Corel Prison. The Queen's Blood tournament can be opted out of if you talk to the woman at the registration desk (the guy who registers you tells you this when you register as well, but I've seen a few people complain about not being able to skip it). The mini-games at Costa Del Sol are required, but you only need to get the minimum required score for one of them to get one beach outfit for Cloud, and one each for Aerith and Tifa to get each of their beach outfits. It's not as bad as some people make it out to be.
One thing I will complain about is why they felt the need to have so many different "Combat Arena" stuff. I can understand Chadley's simulator, and Gold Saucer was going to have to have one as well. But Corel Prison has one, Shinra Mansion basement as one, Gongaga protorelic quest has one. THAT feels super repetitive and not that interesting after a while. I wish the Gold Saucer arena was closer to the original. Have a gauntlet of random battles, with a slot that determines your handicap after each fight. The greater the handicap, the more GP or other points you accrue (but only if you win the fight), with a big payout if you get through all battles.

YOu could skip every single one of these side quests to finish the story.
The queens blood tournament was completely skippable
and nobody has you to play the golden saucer minigames. You can skip all of that content

I have this ff7 comic book idea where Cloud gets to tell Chadley to shut up every time he starts to talk too much for hisnown good, and Chadley knows to keep quiet. Haven't finished the game yet, kinda of slowly getting there but if there's one thing they can do to fix this is gettting rid of them, maybe not completely, but maybe get an option under settings to make them quiet. I hate it when I'm getting my butt kicked and the ai can't stfu, aggravating me further.

Im right at Cosmo Canyon and i gotta say . I don't like this game . Repetitive side side quests. The world was getting boring really quickly. Bearly texures / low textures quality. The newer they want to really drags out the game too much in my opinion. And this is my biggest problem .They keep showing. sephiroth way to much and this an issue in remake . Do we really need every chapter to remind you Sephiroth is thr big bad guy . And the ending with Aerith death . She dead but she alive . That took away the original. meaning of the OG version. And i am one of does people prefer they did and one to one remake instead . Than again they did got someone who work on Kingdom hearts

Repetitive side quests? Almost every side quest has it's own unique mechanic that it teaches you just for that quest alone or it's own unique mini game exclusive to that quest, that's the complete opposite of repetitive not only that but every side quest has it's own story linked to a party member and has some of the most personality based character moments in the game.

@@BlazeAlien He's probably talking about the world intel stuff. Where with the Lifestream thing it's press Triangle three times with the correct timing. The same exact correct time for every single Lifestream. And the Summon shrines are only a little bit more complex in their input requirements. Lots of stronger fiend battles with mostly the same battle objectives (pressure, stagger, defeat within time limit. Sometimes avoid a unique attack or status effect they cause). Moogle catch game that's boringly easy into the last couple of iterations (to me, at least). Even the proto-relic quests repeat themselves four times.

I love this game. The combat felt great and the cool combat options were amazing. I do however hate and I mean hate, Chadley and the other AI person. So annoying. I do agree some of the side quest were slow and not needed but you don't have to do them. They open world is great and looks amazing. But like everything, people will love, like, feel it's OK or just hate it. I easily understand if you didn't enjoy it as much as I did.
