When the Boeing actually goes boeing
K, so, I looked up the different layers of Earth's atmosphere (and the relevant heights) and converted them from the standard miles/kilometers measurements to flight levels. Here they are:
Troposhpere (where we are): 0-12 km / 0-7 miles / FL0-360
Stratosphere: 12-50 km / 7-31 miles / FL360-1630 (yeah, that flight level doesn't really 'exist')
Mesosphere: 50-80 km / 31-50 miles / FL1630-2640
Thermosphere: 80-700 km / 50-440 miles / FL2640-... um... Yeah, there's an 'e+6' in the calculator's output. I'll let that speak for itself.
Exosphere: 700-10,000 km / 440-6,200 miles /FL IDGAF-Insanity
