As a fulltime RVer, I just want to thank you, Max, for helping us to be weather aware! Just know you are saving lives, young man. May God continue to bless you.
I’m going to echo this - it’s difficult to find travel weather information that’s reliable and detailed wrt severe risks. We skirted the big outbreak in AR/AL/TN in April thanks to Max.
Same here last year my husband was in Michigan for work while I was back home having surgery and our fifth wheel went on two wheels according to my tough husband and he swears it almost flipped over because of the strong winds with him in it late at night. He barely missed being in the strong tornado that tore through the town. We won’t stay in our fifth wheel any longer during a chance of bad weather and rely mostly now on his channel to plan accordingly. Tonight we will be in a hotel just to be safe.
For some reason I am getting your notifications 6 days after the fact. I’m not tech savvy. Is there something I can do to get them when they are uploaded?
Very concerned about Northern IL later..we have had lots of flooding from the storms this weekend..alot of people having to clean up flooding with damage in their homes. Praying for all in the path of these storms
I like Max because he covers smaller severe weather days, not just the big outbreak days. I don't even remember the last time I saw Ryan Hall. Grats on 332K+ subs. I was here with you when you were
I heard Ryan Hall is taking some personal time. I never watched him but I think he’s been at this quite a while longer. It’s great to have different reliable sources on the same topic!
Live on the IL, WI border in the very NE corner, and those storms last night were insane. It was like being in a hurricane. The rain was blowing so hard my bedroom window in my apartment leaked water, which has never happened in 3 years since I’ve been here. Yikes.
Those potential high wind speeds of up to 80mph, if they manifest in my area of NW Kankakee County, IL, are certain to severely damage or possibly destroy my mobile home. I appreciate the heads up though, Max! Night time storms are terrifying. Thank you so much for your dedication to keeping us informed!
Max was born for meteorology! Starting this young, I bet he discovers something about weather that no one else has. I'm old so I probably won't be around to witness it.
Rockford,IL has been getting pounded by rain fall, there is tons of flooding going on last night and had over 110 water rescues. People's basement and retaining walls are collapsing in and flooding
I'm so sorry that you couldn't go back to sleep I pray for everyone that is being affected by all this whether it doesn't matter tornadoes wins floods whatever I am so grateful that there's more information out there for us and I pray for all of you I love all of you the chats and the weather people and the Chasers❤❤❤❤😂😂
I wasn’t really sure what a derecho is, so I looked it up. Here’s what I found from the Nat Weather Service: “A derecho (pronounced similar to "deh-REY-cho") is a widespread, long-lived wind storm that is associated with a band of rapidly moving showers or thunderstorms.”
Northwest Indiana here. I drove through a derecho in the summer of '21 or '22. Winds were 70+mph. The windows of my car looked as if they were painted white. I couldn't see anything at all. Wanted to pull over, but I couldn't see where the street, or curb, or any buildings were at. It was like being suspended in mid air in a planet of nothing but white atmosphere!
Everyone be safe I love you and and I'll pray for all of you I hope that the wind damage won't be too bad or the bad storms or any of the tornadoes I'll pray for everyone love you❤❤😂😂
Max-you rock. I drive big rigs and worked 4 to 4 yesterday. As I was leaving the dock I saw an incredible (for central Ohio) wall cloud. I managed to pick up my dinner order from Sonic and was halfway home when the wind out front of that bow-echo-looking line hit and MAN was I glad I wasn’t on the road! Thanks for all you do. Semper Fi (and keep your powder dry pilgrim) 🫡
we appreciate your diligence, its been a rough summer so far. Not much lightning last night here. Heavy rain so far this morning, no floods in here, Thank God. Will stay in.
I have lived here for all my life in the northeast never seen weather like this. The temperatures seems to get hotter and more storms hit early in the season
It will take a few more years to say for sure whether it’s a temporary fluctuation or the permanent widespread conditions predicted by climate change models. But meanwhile it’s quite concerning. It doesn’t feel as if areas are prepared to respond to the constant new challenges and disasters.
There is definitely a change. When I watched The Weather Channel in the early 80s, I always wished I lived in Washington State or Maine during the summer, because the map showed that their temps were always between 65-70. Now they say the normal Summer temps for those areas is 84°! There is definitely a change in the climate.
Here North of Illinois there was lot of thunder 2 days ago and also last night and a small earthquake around 3 am, today is really hot and humid, even if you step outside for seconds and come back inside, you get all sweaty because of the humidity
This is getting very concerning, and a derecho is possible, significant severe weather is possible, the threats are damaging winds to 80-90, hail, and a few tornadoes
100 F here in NC for the next three days, as well. And extremely humid. These widespread heatwave events are creeping up on wet bulb territory and I don’t think most folks understand what that means. If humans can’t cool via sweat evaporation, they will overheat regardless of whether they’re in the shade or sitting still or even drinking water.
Here in aurora illinois there was insane storms last night and I also got a tornado warning I'm thankful nothing happend to us but I think today would be worse so thanks for reminding me.
We've had so many severe storm warnings in far northern Wisconsin lately that don't pan out. Plenty of rain, and a lot of thunder too. It seems like the storms fizzle out by the time they reach us.
I had a friend who was in an RV during that. It was a huge fifth wheel RV but that storm flipped it, then lifted it - and their truck - and dropped it in a pile of snapped trees 150 meters away. Fortunately they were able to bail when it flipped. They lost everything though, including a couple pets. :( I’d seen the home damage and ruined crops from derechos before, but I never took the danger seriously until then.
We had a lightning storm roll through last night in NW Kansas. No rain out of it, but it caused a good-sized fire in some fields south of us Not the kind of orange horizon I like to see. Hopefully, we get some rain out of any storms that roll through today. Appreciate the forecast Max
Thank you for the update/different possibilities for Eastern Iowa today! My 7 year old is inpatient at U of Iowa so being away from home is hard not knowing what may happen so Ill be wartching for updates all day. Thank you!!!
Tornado warning in my area, I am quite worried, as this is the 3rd tornado warning i've seen so far, with the 1st being the feb 27 tornado outbreak, and the 2nd and the 3rd being this outbreak

Same. Hall focuses on prime time hours. Seem him bail when there were multiple tornado warnings because he was tired. 😴
Remember, Ryan is not a meteorologist. Max will be one in another year.
Ryan Hall tries to cover the worst weather so that people know how dangerous it is. He also stayed up all night recently to cover Beryl
I’ve never been more happy to not have trees in my yard

A block away from me a tree split in two from last nights storms. Half the tree was down on backyard, fence and shed. Big tree.

There was a faint earthquake last night in Illinois near DeKalb and Schaumburg at 2:30am
“Here’s a little threat over Iowa. How cute!” This is what I signed up for. 😂
Haha, I had to replay that part to make sure that that was what I heard him say, lol!
The "how cute" was about Arizona not Iowa.
Not Iowa! It’s Arizona! Arizona is by California
