Hi Gemi, I’m not worried about Doc. I’m pretty sure he is busy back at work this time of year in Virginia. He said once he liked this time-slot for the stories, and the people, but it makes it hard for him to get up so early for work because of answering everyone afterwards. I don’t think he meant anything intentional - he’s too gentlemanly!! Besides, I always thought Valentines Day was for lovers and spouses. All these 40 years only my husband has ever wished me a Happy Valentines Day ! I don’t worry about making friends on the internet, but rather I just keep myself open to those who do reply to me. Just keep on being who you are ! I will always be your friend and will always try to respond to you, but I’m not usually on the computer until evenings. John Beal, the star of tonight's story, was heard in 33 episodes of CBS Radio Mystery Theater. He played Judge Vail on 9 episodes of the Gothic soap opera, Dark Shadows. John Beal died in Santa Cruz, California in 1997 at age 87.
I remember seeing John Beal in a movie with William Powell, “Double Wedding”. It was very funny. I think my mother used to watch “ Dark Shadows”. I really liked him !
