She was bubbly and so full of life and the most important. She loved animals ,and a full house of beautiful animals , love you beautiful human being, amen.
There are No More "Doris Days" or Any Like Her. Those Days Are long gone. It's Sad how Humanity has turned to Hatred, Cruelty, Selfishness, Greed and to Violence. Those Wonderful Days are Over. But we have Great Memories and Videos of when Doris was alive. RIP Sweet Lady!!
Doris Day was and still is one of the best. Her former house is gorgeous, I love all the airiness that is afforded by all the large windows. If I had 5 million I would have definitely loved to make an offer on this place. Thanks for sharing this video.
Beautiful voice with a beautiful smile to match her beautiful music 🎶! Her love for animals is a special gift 🎁 to the World 🌎. Thank you, Miss Day for all of the joy 🤩 you gave us. ♥️♥️♥️
! Carmel by the Sea is beautiful. I was there back in the late 80's when Clint Eastwood was the Mayor. The town of Carmel is so quaint and walked the streets & shopped the stores. Also had lunch while visiting Carmel. Did not see Clint while there. A fan of his movies. Loved Carmel & wished I could live there. ❤❤😊😊
I grew up watching all her wonderful films in the 1950s and 60s, her sunny home reminds me of her sunny disposition! Many stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood had lovely homes, some very modern, some like Doris's full of charm and warmth, not like some of the homes of today's stars with 24 bathrooms, and humongous like the size of a hotel! May she rest in peace with her beloved pets ~ 💗💗🌞🌻🐶
! Loved Doris Day movies. Watch her movies when I can find them on RUclips. She was great with Cary Grant ... love the movie "That Touch Of Mink". Also ... "With Six You Get Egg Roll" with Brian Keith. She was an activist for animals & created the Doris Day Foundation for caring and protection of dogs, cats, horses, birds. She was a caring human being. R.I.P. Doris ... great actress & person and surely missed. ❤❤😢😢
"Carmel-by-the-sea" is actually the one square mile inside Carmel's city limits. The former home of Doris Day is several miles outside that square mile, in the unincorporated area on Carmel Valley Road, less than 2 miles from where I grew up. In fact I rode the school bus past her driveway every day for about 8 years and never noticed there was a driveway there. Google Maps is incorrect as it gives the street address, followed by "Carmel-by-the-sea" for the city. The actual "city" in the address would be simply "Carmel." The very presence of a street address means it is not inside the city limits as the village has no street addresses. (Residents get their mail at the post office.) Some of the images in the video show an ocean view. I hate to break it to you, but the ocean is in no way visible from this address. The ocean is at least 4 miles away, and the hill the house sits on simply is not high enough to see over all the intervening geographical features. It should also be mentioned that Doris and her son founded a hotel in town called the Cypress Inn, where pets were welcome. Dogs could always be seen wandering around the lobby and the cocktail lounge.
You're 100 percent correct, @CrankyBeach. DD's home, which I've toured, overlooks Quail Lodge in Carmel Valley. Where are they getting these ridiculous "ocean view" photos? And no, it is not in Carmel-by-the-Sea ....
We visited Carmel By The Sea several times. I love it there. Small and the shops are great. Love the art galleries and the beach. We had hoped to run into Clint Eastwood at his bar but missed him. My husband lived his movies. I heard that Doris Day would roam around all the time and was very friendly but we never saw her. Beautiful place to visit.
There’s a video of Ms Day not too long before she died waving and greeting fans from her patio. Fans came to wave to her every day at a certain time. She was gorgeous, talented, empathetic, and classy. Loved her!
❤ She is so kind, wish more people can take in more straw animals. That's called unconditional love. House is amazing and shiny not only due to design, but the feelings were those to keep it warm.
There seems to be two different homes shown here: one a modern home with an ocean view and the other a traditional cottage design with a golf course view. I am pretty sure the traditional one was her actual home. After she died, Julien’s Auctions dispersed her belongings. I registered to bid so I could view the stuff. My favorite item was a little kitchen magnet that said “Fuck Home Cooking”! I’m not kidding!
The otiginal yellow house is Doris Day's. Her home was above on a bluff, overlooking a golf coarse. The home with views of ocean, is not hers! Her home didn't have ocean views. Doris also owned a Spanish Inn in downtown area of Carmel. Animals were welcome! Bar showed her films. I visited and stayed there a few times....very charming!
She was smart to retire to a peaceful, beautiful area, and buy a simple home to enjoy, instead of wasting her money on a vulgar Beverly Hills monstrosity.
The surroundings of her home is just INCREDIBLE!!!! The home itself is just a BIT TOO MUCH YELLOW for my taste, and one of the FIRST THINGS I'D DO IS GET RID OF THOSE AWNINGS AND REPLACE THEM WITH GREEN AWNINGS!!!! Thanks for your GREAT MOVIES DORIS!!!! My FAVORITE IS PROBABLY "SEND ME NO FLOWERS".
Very nice video and appreciate the Doris Day Animal Foundation mention--her heart's passion and legacy, but some of the images are NOT of Doris Day's home. As one of the commenters states, she did not live in Carmel-by-the-Sea, but rather in Carmel--three miles out toward Carmel Valley. While the home's valley views were beautiful, it was not near the ocean and there were no ocean views. All of the ocean view images are of someone else's home.
Your video includes indoor spaces that were not part of her house in Carmel Valley. Her house in Carmel Valley was a number of miles inland from the ocean.
Please read Doris’ biography. It does not paint a happy picture of her. The opposite I would say. I was fairly stunned to read about her difficulties with her husbands and son. The emphasis on animals in this video is a bit absurd; as though no human beings were involved in her life. Silly to continue this illusion of this perfect sunny actress. The hardships which she experienced are somewhat heart breaking. Read her biography please for a realistic picture of her and feel her pain.
In San Fran, one must be careful when walking to avoid stepping in homeless 💩. In Carmel, does one need to be careful when walking to avoid stepping in dog 💩?
Never saw anything like that. The people there were great and they maintain their properties. It was very clean and beautiful. We walked a,l around and went to the walk the beach….all very clean. That was a while ago so considering the changes I have no idea what it’s like today. I don’t think it’s like the cities and tourists hangouts. There is also pebble beach where the rich and famous hang out for the golf tournaments. I spent time in San Francisco and all up and down the coast. It was gorgeous and I hate what has happened to that state . It is no longer a place I would ever visit again. I spent time on a lot of business trips there when it was the place everyone wanted to visit. No more.
She was bubbly and so full of life and the most important. She loved animals ,and a full house of beautiful animals , love you beautiful human being, amen.
What a beautiful home with that soft warm yellow. Today all we see is dull grey in homes and this is so refreshing, inviting, clean....love it!!!
What a beautiful person Doris was! We need more humans like her!!

The home is warm and very beautiful, just like Doris was.

May God bless Doris Day, and may He bless her for the love and care she gave to fellow animals. Thanks for sharing this video.
She was my favorite actress growing up, great actress! Animal lover , I love her!!’

DORIS PROVIDED MANY HAPPY HOURS WATCHING HER MOVIES......SHE WAS THE BEST !!!!
Doris Day I my favorite actress. I love her movies. She was a class act. A very good and decent humanbeing.
I love that Carmel-by-the-sea bans ridiculously high heels, and chain restaurants!
Bans very high heels? LOL. WHY?

@@Moosetta THANK YOU!!! I knew those ocean view shots with the wrong decor were not right.
Dear Crankybeach, Thank you!!!!!
I stayed at the Cypress Inn when I moved here to SF
And she owned the land where the 18th hole is at Quail Lodge. This is Carmel Valley. Ugh this is so obvious if you are a Carmelite
This is exactly how I thought her house would look. That ocean view!
Oh I loved her ❤ she was my absolutely favorite actress ❤❤❤and still is ❤️❤️❤️

Such a very warm home. I could live here forever.
Loved Doris Day love Carmel by the Sea
Exactly what one would expect. Beautiful, bright and happy. Just like she was ! 🤍💛🤍💛🤍💛🤍💛
Yes indeed...

How beautiful her estate is😊
No that’s a beautiful and inviting property!

What a truly amazing lady
Love her home being able to lay in bed and look out at the ocean. Being able to set in the living room and look at the ocean.
I really love this woman a passionate animal rights activist
I wish I had this home.
The otiginal yellow house is Doris Day's. Her home was above on a bluff, overlooking a golf coarse. The home with views of ocean, is not hers! Her home didn't have ocean views. Beautiful woman’s in side and out very talented 😊❤
Someone said this was not her home but anyway I loved the beautiful pastel and bright bedspreads and cushions in the bedrooms
She was smart to retire to a peaceful, beautiful area, and buy a simple home to enjoy, instead of wasting her money on a vulgar Beverly Hills monstrosity.
Gorgeous❤
She loved animals❤

I love animals so much more than people.
Wow..location, location !❤
But it’s not Carmel by the Sea. It’s Carmel Valley. Near Quail Lodge Golf..
Very nice video and appreciate the Doris Day Animal Foundation mention--her heart's passion and legacy, but some of the images are NOT of Doris Day's home. Doris said in her as-told-to memoir that she always thought of having an ocean view, but didn't have one.
She is my most beloved star. She got to kiss all the great men too! I miss she and Debbie Reynolds. The 2 classiest women God ever put in a movie.
That house looks exactly like her but not by the ocean at all. About 4 miles away and not inCarmel by the Sea, just Carmel.
I heard this was not her home. But it's beautiful.
Midnightl Lwas real thriller. Pillow Talk was a great romantic comedy ❤
Your video includes indoor spaces that were not part of her house in Carmel Valley. Her house in Carmel Valley was a number of miles inland from the ocean.
She lived in Carmel Valley, a stone’s throw from Carmel by the Sea. I know, I lived there.
Lovely with Panache. May she RIP🙏🙏🙏🌹🌹🌹❤️
This house has been staged. Would rather have seen it as it looked when Doris still lived in the home.
Beauty no Botox❤
Doris Day's home in Carmel Valley is no where near the ocean and hos no ocean views so some of these pictures are certainly not her home!!!
Typical YT video.
Yep, I think it's near Carmel Valley Ranch
Her hotel in downtown Carmel is on the corner, a block from Ocean Ave, and allows pets.
Had anyone purchased her home?
Still for sale?
I wonder how much the property taxes would be a year on a $5.7 million home in prime location in Cali?
$57,000 based on the 1% property tax rate in California.
@@DarrylGreen-y9y Thanks!
Interesting!
My husband had a crush on her when he was a young man. I don’t blame him.
Those wood shingles are the worst idea in a fire prone California 😳
Does anyone know what architectural style that home is called (???)
I’d have bought it in a second, if I had the big money
You can not see the ocean from Doris Day's house in Carmel.
Vanilla!
Absolutely just beautiful. Hope to visit one day but, sadly under the Biden & Harris administration I can't afford to go anywhere anymore. 😢
Some of it was her home but yes its true the ocean views were not from her home
dori

I heard she had a kitchen just for making food for her dogs!
In San Fran, one must be careful when walking to avoid stepping in homeless 💩. In Carmel, does one need to be careful when walking to avoid stepping in dog 💩?
No, it's charming and clean, despite being very dog friendly in town.
true, very true...I live in SF

Doris Day was rumored to be gay. That is the truth. I just found this out the other day.
Guess I won't be visiting. Dogs in restaurants - egad!!!!!!!!!
Doris Day > Terry Melcher > Charles Manson
So?
The dogs would be peeing on all those bushes. Sort of puts me off.
Get a life!
