When you’ve done meat birds in the past did you keep track on how much it cost to rear them?? From buying the birds and the feed. I feel like mine are costing quite a bit!
@@doingoutdoors875 I did yes it worked out at about £7 a bird. It definitely made me appreciate the price of a free range chicken from a farm shop in that you then get why they’re much more expensive than a standard supermarket bird. I’m doing a few turkeys this year so I’ll be interested to see the cost of rearing those and whether it’s financially worth it.
I had the exact same problem with my parsnips, carrots and turnips, came up strong and then overnight all 10 rows were eaten!! I’ve re-sown so fingers crossed 🤞 this time they won’t be eaten 🙏🌱
Happy late birthday benji!!!!!!
Treat yourself 😎👍👍
Great use of space veg plots looking great! I’ve still not got round to getting my next batch of meat birds… need to get on with that!

What are you paying for you birds if you don’t mind me asking
@@doingoutdoors875 £1.50 each that was last year and for Sasso cobs.. what did you pay this year for the Ross cobs?
@@oursmallholdinglife5243 the birds are £2 each but the postage was a killer at £30. Although I could of had 100 birds at the same postage cost.

Yes 🤞🏻. Very frustrating when you see a decent row of seedlings one day and then there all gone the next. Good luck 🤞🏻
i move my ross cobs out at 4 weeks old
