    This is my favourite wooden puzzle that you've shown by far. It's incredible

    You’re just used to modern day puzzles. You have to remember how old this puzzle is. When it was made. There wasn’t modern day tools. It’s like talking how bad NES games to PS4 games. But not how amazing they were at that time.
    Plus it’s probably ding up because the puzzle is so old and probably exchanged owners many times.
    I had to wait many many years before I got my hands on one. This is definitely one of my top favorite wooden puzzles. And I have 100s of burr puzzles.

    Have this one, too. But my one was made by Maurice Vigouroux. It's a beast of a puzzle. Once taken apart (if you manage to do so) I would say it's almost impossible to reassamble it again just by trying to memorize the steps. And if you only have the pieces without knowing anything I would say it's absolutely impossible to assamble it at all...

      +ActionHeinz Yeah I used burrtools to get it back together lol

      +CrazyBadCuber
      After I removed the shell it was pretty clear that I won't be able to put it back together once I've taken it apart completely. So I started to take a picture of every part and every step to make a nice illustrated manual :D

    as if this puzzle is not crazy enough to disassemble and put back together, it blows my mind how someone could design and build such a puzzle by hand....crazy.

    Is there any way to buy one of these? Perhaps I'm a moron and blind, but I've been looking everywhere.

    • @crazybadcuber
      @crazybadcuber  10 лет назад

      You can't buy them right now. These are very rare puzzle, and are only made every decade or so from what I can tell. Eric Fuller was given permission to make a batch of them, and I jumped on it right away because I knew that value of the puzzle. These puzzles go for a lot of money in Auction, and the value continues to get greater from what I'm told. It would likely be years and years before another one goes for sale. Sorry.

    Wait a second... it's not a Burr puzzle, it's an "interlocking puzzle" and it's got a combination of sorts... that's all Burr puzzle descriptions as far as I know.

    • @crazybadcuber
      @crazybadcuber  10 лет назад

      No, a burr puzzle and an interlocking puzzle are completely different. This is an interlocking puzzle shell that surrounds a burr puzzle.

    Imagine doing this underwater.

    • @CarstenSvendsen
      @CarstenSvendsen 10 лет назад

      Then that wold mean that the pieces wouldn't fit together and the puzzle wouldn't be able to disassemble since wood expands when it "consumes" water.

    • @prestocuber6499
      @prestocuber6499 10 лет назад

      Carsten Svendsen I meant assembling it, not dissembling.

    • @CarstenSvendsen
      @CarstenSvendsen 10 лет назад

      Still wouldn't be possible since wood expands under water. Not to mention you'd need scuba gear if you're going all in.

    • @prestocuber6499
      @prestocuber6499 10 лет назад

      Carsten Svendsen what if all the pieces were soaked in water beforehand? Then wouldn't they all be pre-expaned and it would still fit together?

    • @CarstenSvendsen
      @CarstenSvendsen 10 лет назад

      Not necessarily since the inner part of the puzzle wouldn't get as much water as the outer layer.

    • @Brobiks
      @Brobiks 10 лет назад +2

      kasettys1 because over 90% of the people that participate in it don't even know why they're doing it. donating money is just as effective, without ice water.

    • @ShawnBoucke
      @ShawnBoucke 10 лет назад +2

      kasettys1 Donating is one thing but the "challenge" has taken away from the original purpose.

    • @kasettys1
      @kasettys1 10 лет назад

      Brobiks That's true, but the people who do it to spread awareness are at least letting more people know about. It really annoys me when someone does it without knowing why.
