The EMP charge can do a number of things:
1) Can electrocute puddles
2) Lure NPCs and they will pick it up which can act like a walking electricity source
3)Used to destroy electronics like cameras and surveillance recorders and the device used to control the virus in Sapienza
Erasing evidence with the EMP charge is particularly useful in situation when you don't want the bullet impact to be noticed or when you have objectives which restrict you from using firearms.
Overall, it is a very versatile item which is severely underrated .

Destroying the surveillance box is particularly useful for Silent Assassin - No Firearms as well as the fact that it will destroy it without suspicion which means you don't have to clear the security room of guards or risk 'bullet impact noticed'.

You do get an extra bonus for completing all the objectives. You get a 'perfect run bonus' which gives you xp, you see it when its counting up the xp after finishing a mission.
Yeah, it's a pretty big bonus too.
the best part was that he started mentioning the need for a bonus the same time he got that bonus.

I have to admit, I worked through all 3 games again and started Freelancer to see what it was about.
The beginning is just beyond stupid hard. With so little tools to work with, you're stuck mostly getting the key missions done and slowly learning how to spot assassins and lookouts, which can instantly ruin your run before you start. It's a goddamn crawl where you head into a mission with nothing for a while, because you're scared of losing the minimal amount of what you collected. People who push through that are just on another level.
47: "You get a concussion. You get a concussion. Everyone gets a concussion!"
Also lasting brain damage from being unconscious for so long.
Just a heads up, the pacify guards with concussive explosions can be completed with fire extinguishers. You don't have to bring explosive with you. Also, the remote emetic device is a rare melee weapon when thrown.
Tip for the concussive explosive objective- You can complete it by blowing up fire extinguishers to knock out guards which keeps SA as it is an accident KO. But it requires you shoot it so it fails perfect shooter and SA no firearms.
Berlin actually is a free final mission
almost all possible targets walk around the public areas so you can take your time while looking for clues
you can easily get in if you've unlocked that shortcut to bypass the main entrance that frisks you
most of the possible targets have at least one spot where you can safely shoot them from cover without getting spotted, and even if you can't you can just run to the exit because the security doesn't get to you in time
In Berlin I finally narrowed down all the targets and then discovered she started to walk outside the map, she literally just wandered into the hills.
Curious to see a freelancer kill everyone challenge, be interesting for the final level of a campaign...
It’d be pretty much the same as a regular kill everyone challenges except it would waste a lot of merces
I've almost done it on Dartmoor before when I was a hardcore campaign. Ended up killing all of the guards and because I was then impatient, I killed pretty much everyone else I came across while trying to set up an collateral accident kill 😅
Great to see you back on this... after playing this since it first came out I've failed to finish one campaign. I've completed so many missions but always failing at the last hurdle which is really depressing I've SASO everything other element in the flipping game. It is utterly depressing, so I'm going to live vicariously through you.
It's a tough game mode. You'll get the hang of it.
Then you'll go to Hardcore Mode, and regret ever being born.
I hear ya, man. I haven't completed even one campaign yet. I'm just going to give up playing it properly and just blast anyone who gets in my way.

I know you mentioned wanting to move away from Freelancer content for now but I want to say that your Freelancer campaigns are some of your best videos yet. Your enjoyment really shines through and your sense of humor and editing are at their best. Thanks for all the laughs and quality videos.
You still get paid out for the perfect run and it still says you got perfect run which is fine in normal mode. But for whatever reason sometimes it doesn't count for Hardcore mode and fails your campaign even though it says you passed the challenge.
Finally Mooney, 38:38 i was about to ask you if the freelancer mode will be permanently scheduled or just temporary, because i notice that the last 4 months.
Anyway i really enjoy watching you play hitman every single time and couldn't tell you how excited i am when i heard that you'll play different than freelancer mode.
I just have the suggestion if you want to plan to play escalations, they are both in Mendoza:
1- The gauchito antiquity.
2- The Pasquel consortium; this escalation has a new idea, 100% you will love it, just don't want to spoil it. :)
6:21 I don't remember having trouble with that camera; I'm pretty sure you can get an easy shot of it from the bottom of the stairs (maybe you have to aim to look that far up).
Great to see you back on this Mooney. This damn mode is so frustrating. Been playing for months and still can't complete one of those 5 set campaigns. Arg.
Fun fact: you don't fail Headshots Only if you get a melee kill, I think it only fails you if you specifically kill someone by shooting them in the body.

yeah i had that same frustration. If you want to put a battery down in a puddle. You have to drop it in the puddle . Then shoot it to activate it etc
the remote emp can also be used to detonate propane tanks. It can be used in full view of guards without suspicion.
Hi BigMooney, great vid as always. You do get a perfect run bonus for completing all objectives and the prestige. At the end of mission, on the levelling up screen, go to details and you will see it in the breakdown of all your scores, its usually 4000 xp or merces, cant remember which.
emp charge lets you just put it on the security box without anyone getting upset and then you can blow it up to knock cameras offline without a firearm or a headache. then again a breaching charge can do it too so take away what you will from it
Emp charge is one of my fav items.
Targets pick it up and carry it, then you can use it to trigger shock, fire and explosive traps.
It can be reused as a coin after.
It can open doors and disable cameras through walls.
It's super underrated imo.

You can use propane tanks as concussive also in a pinch, they have to be at the edge of it’s explosive radius though, a little tricky.

It's hard to put this game down at times. I just wish they'd shake up Freelancer a bit add more flair to it like some of the Elusive Contracts we get from time to time.

Mooney you said you were going to stock up on all the guns.
It can be worth not buying some of them. Guns that you already own are removed from the pool of options the supplier has for you. You can use this to your advantage by not buying the cheapest suppressed gun of each type. That way if you don't have the gear capacity to bring everything you need you can just leave a gun out of your loadout and pick it up from the supplier.
Since you would have to leave that gun behind to make this strategy repeatable it can waste mercers but there isn't really anything to do with them once your gear collection is complete anyway.
37:50 yes it is possible for the safe objective to be an option when a map has no safes. It's dumb.

You can get a better shot on that camera from the bottom of the stairs, and it can't see you from there either. The tower in Sapienza.
EMP charge can ignite propane explosions without raising any suspicion. Also nice for the Bangkok surveillance camera.
Just rewatched this as I'm waiting for the August update, had to come back after reading the patch notes and can confirm IO officially referred to it as the 'Hitmansion'! Amazing XD
There is a bonus for completing all the objectives. And it's funny that you started saying that right as the "Perfect Run Bonus +2,500XP" was rolling across the screen.
When you have “headshots only” it just means that every kill with a gun has to be a headshot, you can still shoot people in the foot and knock them out or not use guns at all

Great content Mooney. I only use the EMP charge in Bangkok mission to disable the security cameras in that awkward room which helps but don’t use it elsewhere
Things I was not expecting to randomly happen in this video: "Take On Me" by Aha.
That sometimes the Prestige objectives that you can choose from are not useful for the maps are a real pain in the rear.
I solved it once by doing one without prestige. And the next map gave me different ones, and then I could do it.
But in Hardcore you have to do the Prestige all the time. Didn't see that fuck up happen there as well. But then I haven't played enough on Hardcore yet.
I still get f'd by people able to see trough walls. When they shouldn't be able to do so.
EMP is usefull for knocking out camera servers where there is too many guards around it (Bangkok) or can be used to electrocute people in puddles as it creates a small spark. I belive you can also set off propane tanks or other explosives or start oil fires
Fire extinguisher is a free concussive explosive that counts as an accident so you don’t lose silent assassin
As long as you don’t get spotted shooting it.

Agreed re the targets on Freelancer. It's not "anyone on the level", it's "one of these ten people". Gets a bit samey. Also glad to see you've neither done the crazy Hardcore mode (cheese central) or upped your prestige which resets the whole game for the benefit of another 100 XP per mission. Whoop.

EMP device is kinda cool. it can destroy camera evidence through the walls. You don't need to shoot it (for example if you have complication "all bullets must hit the target" - you can't shoot it) and you don't need to be in the room and risk of getting cought.

I use the EMP charge to destroy the surveillance system in Bangkok on hardcore mode because you can't deactivate it manually due to the 2 additional security cameras

You can use the EMP to cause a leaking cylinder or propane tank to explode. It will be an accident kill.
I have a ceiling fan its ok for hot weather for about 20 mins then all it does is fling the hot air around 👌👍.

There are challenges for doing ten of each syndicate. I pick the syndicate I've defeated the least number of times, so that I have equal progress for all challenges. IIRC I'm on around 8 for all types

I feel like it’s worth going for the Perfect Run objective whenever you can, after all you’re probably going to try and do that anyway
10:08 Headshot kills only dosnt mean kill all targets with headshots it means that is you shoot the target it has to be a headshot so if you dont shot your targets with a gun at all and kill them in other ways you will still compete the objective

You could of done the silent assasin, no firearms as the headshot kills only is with a firearm, so you can kill them with axe etc and it still count

Personally, regarding the part where you failed the silent assassin objective by going for the three concussive grenade KOs on guards, I think you should try out ALL objectives even if they might be detrimental to your overall objectives, EXCEPT if it's too frustrating to complete. It would make for a very interesting video, IMO.
