One of the best pieces of kit we have over here. Like you say, very quick to get the cuffs out and on, especially once the holder is broken in. They take up a lot of space on the belt though! Wouldn’t be without them though.

I've had the KMP cuff pouch (the third UK one you showed) for about 3 months now after waiting for a 4 month pre order to arrive and it's an absolutely brilliant cuff holder, easily the best molle cuff only pouch you can get.
I used to have one that also had a second smaller pouch on it to keep gloves etc in which was good but took up more room on my vest.
If you want a low profile, fast and easy to use cuff only holder for your vest, the KMP pouch is the perfect one.
They're designed by people with policing experience and they've updated each batch based on feedback from police officers using them in the real world and it really shows.

TCH 840 Rigids - Timeless and very practical

PWL is Price Western Leather, they are a UK company that make a lot of different police equipment, mostly for belt kits. Rigid cuffs are good, I've had TCH and Hiatts, and currently have an older pair of Hiatts issued by my current force. Only issue I ever had with them was working plain clothes, because due to their size they'd normally stick out of jeans pockets or look very obvious in coat or jacket pockets, and the plain clothes harnesses you can get to accommodate them are more tricky to use when trying to deploy them. But generally speaking, and as someone who has never really used chain cuffs as they aren't issued in many UK police forces, I find rigid cuffs really well suited to our work, especially front and rear stacking of prisoners to limit mobility. Can't daisy chain though, that doesn't work very well!

I have the exact same handcuffs issued to me, and they are a decent piece of kit.
They’re are of course pros to chained handcuffs but I’d personally prefer rigid all day every day.
Really easy to get on with a struggle and manipulative the subjects arm/wrist if they’re fighting.
My exact pouch isn’t in the video, but it’s basically the leather belt one but without the bit covering one of the sides. Really quick to get out and the second the are in my hand they are in the position to put on the suspect
They also give the suspect a lot less ability with moving hands and fighting when cuffed.

in he UK. handcuffed prisoners travel in the back of a caged van to custody. 85% of the time they are cuffed in a Rear Stack, much like a strait jacket, to the rear. restricts hand movement and very difficult to lash out at officers.
if the prisoner is suitable for transport in a car. two constables will control the arms and unlock one wrist and bring both arms around to the front and re-apply to a Front Stack so the prisoner can sit behind the passenger seat, with one constable sitting behind the driver.
We do not have a metal cage separating the rear from the front. this allows the prisoner to wear a seatbelt in the rear as required by law. the wearing of the seat belt also has the advantage of restricting the prisoners movement, should they lurch forward intentionally if there happens to be a constable sitting in the front passenger seat. on the way to custody.

For me the biggest thing I like about the rigid handcuffs is the security they provide against someone trying to tamper with them as you are not able to bring your hands together to try and pry them apart of pic the key of racket mech. Down side is not as flexable when trying to cuff someone who is resisting or someone who can't bring thier arms together behind them. I see these being more usefull for a correctional or court setting. I do have a question though was anyone else every taught with a compliant person how changing the hand position can increase security/decrease chance of cuffs being picked? (palm to palm, one plan inwards one outwards, both plams facing outwards applies to cuffing in front or back)

You can escape any hancuff nomatter how it is placed with a bar key. You know, the long kind with a clip. Hide it in the back of your compression boxers. Once cuffed...
Step 1: take out the key and clip it to your belt pointed towards your feet.
Step 2: pull your pants up as high as they can go.
Step 3: trial and error until you find the keyhole on the right cuff.
Step 4: twist right to disengage double lock and then twist left to free the cuffs.
Before any of this you'll need to JB weld the clip to the bar key in the correct direction, with the flange of the key facing your right hand when attached to your belt. Just remember, some handcuffs have the keyholes inverted, in such case youll have to aim for your left cuff (refer to step 3) and twist in opposing directions (refer to step 4). Good luck!

Is the hang up in American policy that they want to be using what they have and have had, Vs. it's something new that we don't have any experience with/about? Seems like the deployment and leverage benefits alone are a giant step up for helping to effectively take people into custody.

Do you know more about these? I am in the UK and have a couple of these but I recently bought an ex-police pair (british police) which are US made HIATT with the nice new style of branding etched into the double strands, but they have TCH-style grips BUT they are actually marked as HIATT not TCH. I have never ever seen an American hiatt speedcuff with a properly HIATT branded TCH style grip. I did a demo video yesterday on them. If you happen to know anything about this, whether the US HIATT is selling cuffs now with the new TCH style grip? Did UK TCH do a limited run of their grips with HIATT stamping on for some reason? It's boggled my brain.
