I remember those Jazz FM days, year 2004. And I agree this is better than the original (which I thought it was until I saw a clip of the video). It's a shame he's never really broken through. The UK was not very receptive to 'blue-eyed'' soul back then and is not that much more now. His stuff with the Town seemed more like a manoeuvre to garner some fame but I don't think they have taken off as much as expected. Plus going by past interviews I think he's more of a soul boy anyway.
Always loved this mix, but never had it, as I don't have a record deck these days! Thanks for uploading. I also remember the 'Jazz FM' days. I won the last place in the competition they had to raise money for charity (The Jazz Cafe). He was faultless! Met him after the gig and played him one of my very rough demo's on my phone and he was bobbing his head and he said he liked it, which was nice! He's now in Graffiti6, so I'm thinking he is not going to give up until he is a house hold name.
I prefer this remix but I agree it's weird Jamie didn't enjoy the success of others. I think as with everything it's a timing issue. He preceded the resurgence of UK soul in the mainstream. A couple of years later he might have done big things. He definitely had some good tunes and was clearly a true music fan. I preferred his soul incarnation too. Looking @ his Graffiti6 stuff it seems he's had a nose job.
