Apart from a few nice days in October the last decent day in England was last June the 28th! That's over 9 months of crap weather. I'm 60 and cannot recall such a prolonged period of shite weather.
Same this side of the North Sea.
Wow! Terrible when you look at it like that. Better days MUST be coming! 🤞
I had plenty of nice riding days last summer without wearing my wet weather gear. The weather was a bit wetter than normal, I'll grant you that, but I had lots of trips around Wales and the Peak district without any concern regarding rain. I've been out this year on numerous occasions on dry days, today included. I've been out on wet days as well, but it's wrong to say the last decent day was June the 28th 2023! We've had plenty of sunny dry days since then.
"Days" being the operative word. The rain has been almost relentless since last June. July and August were complete washouts. We did have a couple of nice days in October. If you have been riding on dry days then clearly the rest of us have been imagining the rain. @@sproutandkidneysoup2296
Great series, good effort and thanks for producing 👍👍
Your trip was with an adventure bike. Given the tracks you rode, you needed one. Two questions:
1. Would you recommend Morocco as a destination without an adventure bike? 2. Some adventure bikes are (too) heavy so perhaps only suited for some gravel roads instead of “real” off-road riding. All depends on your definition of “real”, I should think, but would you recommend a light weight bike for that purpose?
So if you are taking a group out, as you mentioned, will have requirements on the type of bike they bring along. That’s more like three questions. Cheers!
Your Morocco trip was amazing for me personally. My daughter was there on a school trip as your series aired and it was fantastic to see through you what she was experiencing. Thank you.
Hello Richy, hope you’re well. Thanks for all the videos, not just the latest trip to Morocco. I think the extra dimension to all your travel and vlog content is the sense of wonder as you explore. Please don’t ever stop!
Q&A
1. What resources did you use to plan/check for any admin like confirming recommended/mandatory inoculations, paperwork (visas, insurance, temporary import docs etc.) and local customs and laws (days of rest when everything is closed, speed limits & traffic laws)
2. As a road rider it’s obvious Morocco has a whole new dimension to offer when riding off road but I was wondering if exploring purely on road would be worthwhile too?
3. As you travelled with a mixture of secure luggage and loosely attached items, how did you find security when leaving the bike?
Thanks again for the videos,
Andy
Nice to have you back 😉👍
A random street in Bramhall 😁I've missed loads of the Moroccan episodes, I must get back to watching them all, thank you.
great to hear you got home safe and sound, great series I really did look forward to each and every episode. can you do a video on the kit you wear on a day to day basis, clothing etc
Fantastic series Richy ! absolutely loved it ! What I wondered is do you think the immense kindness that you experienced from the people in Morocco, will have an effect on how you treat strangers in UK ?
Just doesn't sound the same without you being on the AT.
Your Moroccan adventure and video series was brilliant, from the production quality and the fact you rode the fantastic Honda Africa Twin (a big soft spot for the AT). I almost wished I hadn't watched it in real time so I could binge watch it, as waiting for each episode got frustrating 😊. Very enjoyable, huge thanks for your continued work and great content. Take care and keep safe.
Richy,IMHO the Morocco series has been your best yet,oh and the bike in this video swallows fuel faster than my H2 SX.
Bike looks good. And the recent series was spot on
welcome back Richy 👍
Enjoy the tracer 9gt+ it’s just the fuel gauge only shows full then half full. On the non plus version it’s the same. I ride to a distance or have the dash show the consumption in litres as this is accurate just reset at full.. gotta love that engine. Thanks for the Morocco vids they are the reason I am planning a similar trip next year.
"And not before time mate"lol
Nice vid,and great weather too,the bike was a touch thirsty tho ;-)
Ride Safe Mr B \m/
Hi Richy, your Moroccan series was fantastic. The best viewing I have seen on YT for a while. I came across your channel, (and this series specifically), because I am researching my own road trip to Morocco. I had not come across your content before, but subscribed now 😀👍
I live on the Algarve, Portugal, so it’s only about a 4 hour ride for me to get to either Tarifa or Algeciras and you have definitely inspired me to follow your footsteps and route.
So my question is would you list the hotels you stayed at please?
Thanks Richy
Regards
Rick.
I have a Tracer 9 and the guage will show full even though the tank isn't.
Starting with an actual full tank, the guage will constantly show full until almost half a tank of fuel is used, then will drop in smaller increments, strange design.
Hi Richy.
Gillianthepillion and I loved this series.
We were both sweating along with you as you were trying to get the Big Lad out of the techncal section of trail.
Please tell us you won't be including that section when you take a group tour there.
Keep up the great content.
Guessed the bike straight away. I've just bought one. Love it so far.
You will love it!
Nice to see you in my neck of the woods Richy, (Cheshire)
Toured Morocco twice, absolutely stunning place, every biker ought to visit may be the last bastian for bikes.
Rich, epic series in Morocco mate 🙏 of the bike mounted cameras it appears you used the gopro footage the most, I am considering buying an insta360 hence the question
Welcome back.
Question for the Morocco q&a.
So, when you got stuck in the middle of nowhere, what was the darkest thought that crossed your mind about survival and having to walk back to civilization? 😁
I could hear the concern in your voice.
Glad you got out of that situation.
Thanks Richy for the Morocco Video, good to see you back on home soil and out on the Yamaha with the Sun shining for a change! That Moroccan tea seemed to be the main drink served, I bet you miss that? What was the cost of the ferry and how long did it take? Over to you Sir. 🙂👍
Nice to see a decent bike on the channel at long last - your dad's GS, lovely.....
Have a word with yourself.
aup mate good to have you back on your own soil only kidding good series that was like i said to you in a previous message it shit how the news and social media make other country's and people not what they are you have meet them for yourself and all were very good nice people and the country cheers
Long time Patron here, thanks for another great series! I look forward to your winter solo trip every year. My questions are:
If you had configured your nav system to stay on the main roads, could you have avoided the late night loop through the French countryside? and
What did you do for food while on the road in Morocco? I don’t recall your including in the edits any stops for midday meals, did you partake of any of the roadside offerings?
Thanks'
Hi Rich the fuel gauge on the Yamaha MT10 is the same, it drops from full to half then drops to a quarter then when its low it drops into F mode which then counts up the miles, i imagine the GT PRO is the same.
Your Morocco trip was fantastic enjoyed every minute.
What were the fuel prices like, roughly how much in fuel did it cost?. Enjoy all your filming & great editing 👍
Amazing series Richy - have loved watching all of your solo trips the most.
I was just wondering if you could share a little about your planning process. I’d love to get more trips arranged but it’s such a daunting task to start. I sit down for hours and make no progress on a specific trip but the list of places I want to see just gets bigger! I wondered if you had any advice about how you choose?
Sorry only just seen this.
Once you’ve settled on a destination in mind d, start writing down POI’s that you’d like to see whilst on your way. Stick em all into Google Maps so you can see where they are, and then make a route that makes geographical sense for your choices..
That’s how I do it anyway 👍
@@RichyVida no problem - thanks for the reply! That sounds like a good idea to set up a sort of framework. I’ll definitely bear that in mind. Great job then turning this into such awesome series.
Glad to have you back home.
My questions are
Will you be doing the camp in the Sahara desert again? And if your doing a guided tour will you be taking everyone up and over that dirt road that you got stuck on or would you miss it out?
Mate, absolutely loved the Morocco series! Just started your latest video.
When you do these long tours, how do you store your content? Do you have an SD card per day so you know what's what when it comes to editing or do you just fill a card up and move to the next one?
The Mrs and I are doing 3 weeks around Europe in July and I'm going to film it all, hopefully multiple videos of 10 min each.
Most of the Yamaha bikes I’ve owned or have ridden have been the same in reference to the display blocks on the fuel gauge. My Tenere it will display a full tank via the gauge blocks then half then just to a few. It’s just the way they are on the display but not very helpful when trying to gauge a more accurate volume in the tank.
Definitely needed to stay in Morocco to avoid the rain! Can’t remember ever having such a sustained period of rain, it’s been pretty much continuous since late September it seems…. Re your fantastic trip to Morocco, it would be interesting to know what your overall costs were for the trip, fuel, ferries, hotels food etc.
Hai Richy just finished the last Morocco video, absolutely magical what a country, how many “moments” did you have that’s what Morocco does for you it gets under the skin. Two questions mate what the hell do I watch now and secondly if you hear of any panniers going secondhand for my 2021 Africa Twin Adventure please let me know don’t do any socials apart from Facebook so if you wouldn’t mind you putting the word out please would greatly appreciate it. Really serious about joining you in Morocco so please keep me posted. Cheers mate 😊
Enjoyed the Morocco series. The fuel gage on the Tacer 9 gt ls weird. I got caught off guard myself.
Hi Rich. I loved the Morocco series. Best you’ve done since the USA tour way back when! If you were to do it again (on your own) and armed with your new knowledge of the first trip, what would you do different?
That a Yamaha CP3 triple in Tracer livery all day long. Yes, the fuel gauge is funky. We get used to it. 🙂
Thanks for the recent series… inspiring! Keith is a great bike but were there any routes you would have attempted on a lighter bike?
Hi Richy, cracking series in Morocco,my question is how worried were you when you got stuck on that track,I must admit I would have gone into panic mode, when the bike got jammed between the boulders and miles from anywhere, great job getting it out though, cheers Ian
Could you please outline the pros and cons of your Morocco trip! And what a lovely CP3 sound btw.
Hi Richy, was another great series to watch. Just a quick question on gloves 🧤. What gloves did you have on in Morocco can’t seem to find a good pair with touchscreen capabilities but the ones you had looked like their worked a treat.
Thanks
Brad
I believe they are Endura Humvee Plus II
Hi Richy ... Question inspired by your Morocco trip. You did the trip on an Africa Twin. Would you say that Morocco was a destination that requires Adventure bikes. There were sections of your journey that certainly looked like anything but would struggle ?
Great videos richy Morocco was amazing to watch . When will you be taking tours there if you are will it be 24 or 2025 . ? Hopefully meet you 13th at yondermans
Hi and a belated welcome back.
Q how will you judge who to take with you when/if you return to Morocco 🇲🇦. Some of the roads you rode , I'm not sure some of your Wildbad regulars will manage them ??
Can you get breakdown cover for Morocco , and if not were you not worried about being stranded out there with no cover 😁 Brian
See you at the ABR! 😁👍
Hi Richy, would it be possible for you to share the morrocan back roads route in details and the places you stayed at ? That will be great. Thanks mate.
As always great videos. On Morocco, if there was one thing you would change or do different on the trip what would it be next time?
Loved the Morocco series. How did you plan and load up the Garmin? I have a Zumo and I know I'm only using a fraction of the features.
best trip yet Rich loved every minute, Question 1 can you get or did you have recovery in Morocco or are you totally on your own, Question 2 Morocco Wildbad tour ?
Richi when you were stuck in the wilderness between all those rocks how long did it take you to get free and how did you cope, reminded me how tense the snowy Scottish tour made me ,by the way l really enjoyed your Moroccan trip thanks mate 👍👍👍
Hi Richy
I knew straight away you was on a tracer9gt not only because I have one but the engine is a peach. Sounds and goes so well.
The you should get about 180miles out of a full tank so no couldn't of been full but it does show full for about 100miles then goes down quick
Aah cheers. Great bike!
Brilliant Richy! But just like others I always wonder where you get all your Money from to go on these epic adventures 🤷🏻 is it through your work or RUclips or sponsorship? Unfortunately I’ve had to sell my Multistrada so my dreams are shot at the moment 😢
Great video as usual.
Brilliant to see your Morroco trip.
Q. What paperwork and insurance documentation did you have to put in place before you set off ?
Absolutely brilliant trip. im planning a similar one to Morocco in Sep 25.
How would you recommend I go about planning such a trip? And the type of equipment I ned to take?
Can i also ask. I see you were wearing the Arai tour X5. What chin mount did you use?
I have one, and i can't find one that fits this helmet.
All the best....
Totally amazing your Morocco adventure Rich , thanks for sharing , question when you got your tyres changed by the guy who went off in a taxi were you genuinely concerned he may not come back ?
The.Morocco trip was awesome, I even sent an email to Moroccan Embassy extolling its amazing content. Thinking of your off-road element I thought jeez hope he doesn't break a bone, so did you have a back-up plan if you'd become incapacitated or was it a case of waiting for passing local?
Glad you’re back safe Rich. My question is, was the Africa Twin just about the perfect bike to do the Moroccan trip on, and why? Thank you👍
How much did it all cost richy ....a yorkshireman likes to know these things ....brilliant series by the way ...and when are you organising trips there
Hi Rich, your Morocco trip was one of, if not the best tour series of late on RUclips. My question is where next? Thanks, Dave.
Scenic roads but not so sure about meet up destination!
Why? Was lovely 👍
@@RichyVida just going by where you both parked, didn’t see inside the cafe
Mountains of Derbyshire, Nice
Q&A :
When route planning how did you know majority of those roads would lead where you wanted?
Its something that worries me on wanting to ride roads like that but not knowing where lead or safe ?
What went well, what didn’t go well and what would you do differently the next time Richy
Quick question, How have you found the richa armada gear. Currently looking for a good goretex suit for a up coming 4month touring. But not many long term reviews out there on the gear
Hi Rich, Morocco trip was exceptional and I'm inspired. I'm in South Africa and planning a Southern Africa trip. Trying to choose a bike, I have never ridden before and bikes are expensive out here , I suppose everywhere else. Any advice on preparations and choosing a bike for a beginner.
Any tips on riding in the wind? I hate getting blown from side to side?
Q: Your solo winter trips are inspiring. What contingency do you have in place when travelling solo, especially abroad in case things don't go to plan. For example, when you were almost quite stuck in episode 9.
Seen a few people say the fuel gauge jumps alot on the new tracers
Respect for your crazy journey down to the ferry. But on another occasion would you prefer direct to Santander/Bilbao or a meander through France & then through Spain (if you had the available time at your disposal)?
Hi Richy great great series loved every minute of it. My question is - the cost of travelling via santandar with cabin is around 800 . I have never ridden in France or Spain what’s your opinion of a 3 week tour via the tunnel out and back to Morocco . The cost of the tunnel and the cost of travelling through France and Spain would be similar but I would I think get to see more. Also what were the dates you went. Is there anything you have heard of that you wish you had done. I have heard of some mines that you may be able to ride your bikes through and if true would do this.
Thanks for this insight and I have my wife’s blessing to go , looking forward to finding out more. Kindest regards Paul
I was wondering how much of a nuisance were the people we often saw in towns trying to stop you to offer their services. Just a mild inconvenience, or a real pain?
Great series by the way👍
Has anyone asked about your maintenance packing for the bike ?
Chain adjunsting socket n wrench etc etc chain oil
Hi Richy, I really enjoyed the Morocco. What was the tyre inflator you used on the trip mate, I have scanned through the full series but can’t find it. I am doing a short tour abroad for the first time at the end of May and want to be prepared.

It must be a tracer thing mine use to go for miles about 100ish and still say full then wush half a tank goes in one then the rest seem to go quite quickly too.
What maps did you put on your Garmin for Morocco Rich and did you find a free version.
What settings do you have on your gopro please
Watching now 😅
Couple of questions …
How much did the trip cost you in total (excluding the tyre fitting)?
Did you have Breakdown cover and if so with who?
Hi, would would be your top 5 "Do Not" when I'm Morocco.?
I thought it was a triple when you revved it, Tracer 9 GT?
53 sec after upload and im in.....question ..what would you say the total cost inc. ferries ans accommodation did the tour cost 2nd is it possible to do it without the dirt roads?thanks
Glad your home safe and well and like i said before thank you this one is a bit of a different question have you heard about this ride from london to barrow in memory of the great David Myers alas hairy bikers fame that would be a different video to shoot if you did it just a thought my friend
What a nice tribute that will be. No, I hadn’t heard of it. ❤️
Love the Morocco trip am planning a trip there myself next year, when are you going back with “guests” as soon as you know more details please let me know. Cheers
Feb, hopefully
@@RichyVida Please keep me in the picture 😉
1st question about Morocco.
I live near Barcelona and my dream is to take my pan america to the Sahara. How much money approximately did you spend in digs, petrol and food? Just Morocco.
2nd question is, when are you doing the follow up video on the Pan America?
BTW. Your Morocco series was absolutely epic. Thank you
Just a quick question . What was the funnest moment that you didnt get on vid . What was the best food did you have . I am going to miss your stream on Morocco but i am sure that you have a treat instore for us in the future. Please could you tell us more about your event later in the year the wild event . As i have said i will be traveling over fro Ireland for it Thanks 👍👍👍
My MT09 has got a rubbish fuel gauge goes from showing full to half instantly, then depletes quickly - or appears to
It was a very quiet time of year for tourists, do you think you would get the same sort of welcome in May/June?
Great series Richy! Two questions.
How did the guy at the hotel not recognise you after only six days from staying there?
Having attempting to rip you off, are you still planning to take Wild Bad Touring to the same hotel?
Cheers, Len.
Question 1 from me…
Where do I sign up for the 1st tour to Morocco with Wildbad ?
Q&A question. Other than the trip down which was a marathon, what if anything about the Morocco trip would you not repeat?
How did the Dunlop tyre's hold up
Really enjoyed your adventure well done.
Question, did you at any point feel unsafe apart from when you got stuck.i mean when in the city's and they were asking for money?
So 2 Morocco 🇲🇦 questions for you. As it took 6 weeks to edit the series how many hours of footage/number of sd cards did you use in the weeks trip? Second is when the first customer trip is planned .......... not really a question, TAKE MY MONEY!!!!. Looking forward to see you are ABR and the WB weekender.
Hi richy , where does morroco rank in your all time trip destinations?
Hi Richy, Question for you. That time you were stuck in the desert, if you couldn't have moved, did you have a back up plan. ??
What was your total mileage and cost on this trip? It looked like a great trip. Is egone ever going to be allowed out to play again? Lol Keep up the great work Richy.
How did you go about booking your ferry to and from Morocco... did you do it 24hrs in advance or ?
Hi will you be going back to Marroco
Hi Richy, how many miles do you reckon you’ve got out of Trailmax Raids? Les
