Just to let you know, Carey. HDMI can be one directional.
I have an 48Mbps for 8K/60 fps, 4K/120fps active optical cable. It didn't work until I reversed it. It wasn't that long. Bought 2 cables between 6 and 15 ft. It wasn't badly priced, around $26. It was very thin. I bought it 2 years ago. One broke after a year and the other is still working.
Why do you use directional hdmi cables?
@CareyHolzman I bought them because they were a good price and wanted to get a 48Mb HDMI cable to connect my 4k OLED and 4k receiver to my computer. I received them and they were one-way cables. I didn't set out to purchase a one-way cable. They just ended up being that way.
But they are pointless and not necessary in your use. As I said, when running long distances, that's a different discussion. Yes, you could buy a 100ft one way hdmi cable to run 6ft. But why would you? It's not the right tool for the job.
@CareyHolzman I got a 10 ft and a 15 ft HDMI high bandwidth cable. I tried the fiber optic cables to check them out. I didn't pay a large premium. They cost about the same as a standard type. I confirmed they worked at the advertised resolution and fps. One of the two cables is still working after close to 3 years. The one that broke a year ago was replaced with a non fiber optic HDMI cable and it also works.
Why criticize my decision to buy it when I didn't waste money. How will I know if it is a good technology for the job without ever trying it?
I understand it's required on long runs but optional at shorter lengths. It has some advantages like being thinner and resists interference better. The main reason I didn't rebuy it was because shipping was faster on the one I bought and a couple dollars cheaper for 10 ft.

I don't see ZikeDrive USB4 Enclosure on Amazon US, UK or AUS. there are similar drive enclosures that look similar (even in the enclosure case design) but not the same.
