The line that touches me the deepest “They don't even know what it is to be a fan. Y'know? To truly love some silly little piece of music, or some band, so much that it hurts.” ~ Sapphire is the Shizzo and this is one of the greatest films of all time.
I knew that love for music. I think since I was about 8 years old. It grew with each year like a spectacular flowering vine. And then one day I looked at myself, looked around me. I became old. The vine withered with each passing year afterward. Very little music sparks such joy anymore in me. The only consolation I have is that the music will live long after I'm gone.
I'm sorry you've lost most of that joy, but don't give up on it - you may find it comes back to you some time, when you least expect it. It happened to me during a severe depression, but I got it back after some meds and therapy. Age ain't nothing but a number, as they say :) (I've had arthritis since I was 13, and a severe limp requiring a sick since 31, so age alone is not necessarily a limitation to dancing/gig-going - but all of this is just meant as a solidarity/aspiration kinda thing, not a judgement or suggestion you've done something wrong to lose the joy, or something like that. I hope that was clear, sorry if not.. I hope you have plenty of joy left, anyway :)
It's crazy to think that even if Led zeppelin hadn't stolen any songs from anyone, they would have still come up with a bunch of classics. The rain song is so dreamy... One of my favourite movies.
"Bron-Yr-Aur" was a solo acoustic piece by Page, named after the cottage where he had composed and arranged much of Led Zeppelin III with Plant. It was recorded at Island Studios in mid-1970. The track was later used as background music in the group's film The Song Remains the Same. sauce: wiki
@i ou1! dude, i gotcha. Im 51 yrs old and have been watching this flick off and on for 20 years. I love the scene, its just the delivery (vocal meter) of that line, those 2 little words always struck me as a little off. I like Fairuza, good actress, just feel that Crowe could've gotten a slightly better delivery out of her. Yanno?
Not physically, but there's a certain feeling you have when you listen to that one song or that one band. If you felt it, you'd know. It's hard to explain, I know she was saying it to him specifically for a reason, but she isn't wrong. Music can be forever, and it stays with us forever. I've been a music lover my entire life and that feeling you get when you do find that one song or band is something that you can't understand until you know what it feels like.
@@londonisvile yup, 100% agree with you. Sometimes it's like a heartache, sometimes it can be a gut-punch that stalls your breath... I don't even know why with some songs, they just speak to me in some way, or resonate with an experience of mine. It's incredible how art & music can do that, allow us to share things that words alone don't necessarily convey - or maybe just social convention stops us from talking in the same way
“They don’t even know how it is being a fan. To love some silly little piece of music or a band so much that it hurts” ✨
This*
I think Fairuza Balk is so beautiful and amazing she should be in more movies. So I could see her more. I only seen her in some. Great video.
I love the way sapphire looks at him when she says "even penny Lane." She telling Russell how much he's fucked up.
instablaster...

The rain song..
One of Zeppelins best
my first favorite zeppelin song
Good Lord , so loved this scene …..So loved that Penny sent Russel to William…..
When Russell sees William's picture and realizes where he is: Priceless!
This movie was never contrived nor preachy. It nailed the look and feel of the '70s.

Get on to Greta Van fleet.
“Where there is love we will live on, where there is no love we must provide it”.
When I was 8 years old I listened to Fleetwood Mac.
I never get sick of The Rain Song ♥
I don't think people give Fairuza Balk the credit she deserves for her part in this movie.
She was absolutely amazing in this movie
Her part should have been bigger
Yeah! 🔥🧯
She is good and memorable everywhere I've seen her. Even in the disaster of Dr. Morro.
Fairuza got here name when her Italian father exclaimed that word when he saw her eyes at her birth. How awesome is that?
I love what the groupie says about loving music.

"Does anyone remember laughter?!"
🤦♂️🤦♀️🤦
She is not a groupie
i love every single scene of this f ilm
She was soooooo fiiiine in this movie !
Love this movie! ❤️
Billy Crudup doing voice overs for Mastercard commercials, he remains the only imperfect part of this film.
It’s part of our DNA growing up with some many great groups all coming out at the same time from all over the world
It was like a METEOR shower

Let’s say all the things we never said. 😢
The best movie ever made. Not an argument.
Nailed it!!
I love so much led zeppelin, for all my life❤
I knew this was just a clip... but i was bummed when it ended... I wanted to see the rest (again)
Didn't Bron-Yr-Aur come out on the "Physical Graffiti" album? How could it be played in 1973 when the album came out in 1975?

Damn new girls eat all the steak!
And don't use birth control 😆
Revisiting my comment. 4/20/24.
that it hurts?
It's a guilt trip.. william mentions that penny has always been their #1 fan and they just used her.. that's what made him call her.

@@radiof00le I literally explained it. It goes back to the private plane scene.

2:37 I think she's thinking about how much he really doesn't even know her.
🐾✨
This cut is way too short. to get the full message and meaning of this scene.
I love this entire movie but this scene still shatters my soul. 🥲
