We are lucky that Pokémon only implements positive Evolution methods. Some Pokémon are very aggressive.... Imagine If hate would be the required path for these to evolve, like Gyarados.

3:35 You know, the original context of this scene is arguably one of the most mature, dramatic scenes in the entirety of the Yu-Gi-Oh anime (see below for details if you are unfamiliar and/or interested), but I have never seen this meme used in any context that isn't at least a little horny. The context:
The protagonist of the Yugioh anime is this kid named Yugi who solved this ancient puzzle and became subsequently possessed by the soul of an ancient pharaoh who was really good at the ancient ritual off of which the card game in the show is based, with the spirit being referred to as Yami Yugi because he forgot his name in the intervening centuries and also because early on (particularly in the manga before the card game came into being) he was a bit of a murderous asshole that challenged people to games when they threatened his host or anyone close to them and then when they lost he would kill them, but Yugi and his friend group taught him the power of friendship and he mellowed out and now mostly just helps Yugi win card games.
This scene takes place during a plot line in the Yugioh anime wherein the bad-guy group has this card, The Seal of Orichalcos, that is busted to hell and back and also sets the condition upon activation that whoever loses the duel has their soul stolen to be used in this ritual by the ultimate BBEG at the head of the bad-guy group. This scene immediately follows a duel between the protagonist and a major mini-boss within the bad-guy group who takes the moral high ground and refuses to use the "super powerful but steals souls" card and instead uses a card effect to forcefully hand Yugi (or rather Yami Yugi who handles most of the duels) the card and then proceeds to actually be really good at the card game and backs the protag into a corner wherein the still a little morally dubious pharaoh feels that he needs to use the evil card to win. He uses the card, instating the "loser sacrifices their soul" clause, and then ends up losing anyway, but at the last second "Little Yugi" forces a swap with the pharaoh and ends up getting snagged by the soul ritual instead. Leading to the scene depicted in the meme where Yami Yugi is overcome by guilt and declares that _he_ used the damn evil card and so it should have been _him_ who reaped the consequences.
BTW, shortly afterward we get another heavily memed scene, Berserker Soul/"duraw! monsta cardo!"/"throw haga from train", wherein this asshole brat Weevil (Haga in the original Japanese) pokes fun at Yami Yugi's recent, still very raw, trauma about Little Yugi's soul being taken and Yami proceeds to go apeshit on him causing him to endure a ridiculous amount of pain (did I mention that the evil soul stealing card also makes all of the attacks used by monsters cause real pain too?) as he uses a combo to overkill Weevil several times over before one of Yugi's friends stops him.
To my knowledge that arc was not in the manga so I'm not gonna consider it canon since I like Atem being near perfect.

Gardevoir among several other Pokémon have traits involved in their evolution that are literally taken from the human that raises them. This is especially true with friendship evolution Pokémon, look at how many of them end up looking more human than they perhaps should.
Sounds like something a lopunny fan would say.
@@jamesproctor4568 Not exactly a fan just someone who understands statements made by a number of Pokédex entries for specific Pokémon and how their mega forms function in the anime. For example Eevee to espeon, Sylveon or umbreon, regardless of the time of day required to achieve the evolution you need to spend large quantities of time grooming fur, playing games and feeding a fox whose DNA according to most of its pokedex entries is so unstable that ANYTHING it interacts with can fill the gaps causing one of several evolutions. Friendship evolution requirements imply that Espeon, Umbreon and Sylveon have human DNA from their trainers fill these gaps as before the evolution occurs the Pokédex says the Eevee's face will start to uncannily resemble it's trainer's. On top of that the Gardevoir line evolve by absorbing good human emotions with their 'horns' as well as Gallade requiring the dawn stone, a rock that 'shines like eyes' to quote the games. On the subject of lopunny since you brought it up, you have to spend so much time with a Buneary because of its low affection rating that it openly obsesses over being like you, which is why it evolves into a bizarrely human like form, it does it to emulate it's trainer. Something shown off more by mega lopunny that can in the anime movie it appeared in use human martial arts techniques alongside standard Pokémon moves, it certainly couldn't do any of that living ONLY among its own kind in the wild.

Gardeviors if i remember right are close to human level intelligence in lore and other Pokémon are significantly smarter than most humans interacting with them in the game should be like interacting with elves or dwarves or any fantasy species its not because Pokémon is a children's game and explaning why the same creature you hold in a Pokéball has a whole society and social standing it would be apart of would be kinda hard to do without several insane ethical implications

I love Pokémon bw, and bw2 u gotta play them someday man, the story is amazing, the villains are cool, the Ferris wheel incident with that big sweaty/hairy hiker guy, and some cool interactions between the characters, that and also ducklet. Oh and alder which is basically pokemon bw's version of jiraiya.
On the topic of Volo I just finished my second playthrough of legends arceus a few days ago and I absolutely DESTROYED him and giratina. At the end of the battle I was doing that meme where you look down at them and say "pathetic."

It’s sequel games on the other hand were held back by a rival that really didn’t care about being a rival and didn’t even have any motivation other then them being a means to find his sister’s Pokemon. Had gone with a more traditional rival the sequel games would be awesome

Just remember the Harkness Test (named after Doctor Who's resident alien fucking pansexual twunk, Captain Jack Harkness) when evaluating which pokemon are fluffable. The criteria are: "Does this character have human intelligence (or greater)?", "Can it talk or otherwise communicate with language?", and "Is it of sexual maturity for its species?"
By those definitions...something like Victribell or Radicate would be off limits, while something like Gardevoir or Mewtwo are on the table (and in the bed)
I feel like the second could just be truncated to 'Can it communicate?'

If anything way I see Gardevoir is no different from an alien, if anything it'd be disgusting for them to mate with us. Especially when other psychic types like Alakazam have IQ over 4000 or Metagross is a super computer with 4 brains. Metagross isn't even an animal, again super computer, it's just a living metallic spider like thing. Alcremie? vanilluxe? Chandelure? Inanimate objects and food, and yet you got off brand tags involving cake, humans are just disgusting, oh well. I wouldn't fluff a dog, but that gardevoir is essentially built for this. That it gets bigger and stronger the more love it shares with its trainer, whether wholesome or dirty, is a strong variable.
Now not saying I personally would fluff my Gardevoir, merely it is one of my favorites, easily rose to being 2nd favorite with how much she did for me in Legends Arceus... but not going to dis people that want to. Way I see it wouldn't be that different from loving mermaids either, monster girls or aliens, take your pick Gardevoir could fit either or both. Pocket Monsters, aka Pokemon. Not going to king shame. If my Gardevoir came onto me after all these factors... I'm also not saying I'd deny it lol.

1:01 I automatically knew the battle theme was Maxie and Archie's battle theme by the damn trumpets. The orchestra after the sting and boom you have team magma and aqua leaders in combat.
Whoever thought it'd be funny to reverse the first half of the battle theme was damn right it was funny. I even did this in my teens. But I am going to say that I am up for a challenge. Give me a battle theme completely reversed and I'll guess it. If Chino reads this. Yeah I guessed it right off the bat. It's obvious that it's Maxie and Archie's battle theme by one key difference and that is the use of strings for the bass and the trumpets and bass instruments used for the orchestral piece.
