The biggest thing I've learned about trading is that emotion will sink you. And it's difficult to fight it. It takes emense discipline.
I started using prop firms to test ideas and my consistency; it's just more real than a sim account. I struggled to start with, but failing a prop account (at least the one I use) is very cheap compared to failing with my own money. I can also tell that I've become consistent as I've gone from 3 accounts passed in a year, to another 7 passed in the last 6 weeks. So I do think prop firms can be beneficial if used with a clear purpose.

100%, sim trading while good to test a strategy, does not give you the same risk management feel as a prop firm eval or passed account
Agreed did the same thing and trading prop firms with the potential to actually get paid helps build the psychology needed whereas sim accounts don’t teach you the mental as well as a trading a prop firm acc does

I start soon with my ninja account trading futures I am really excited....I am also a reversal trader...untill now I ve traded in Germany knock outs and I win often but I lose sometimes and if I lose then big....this happens because there is no bracket order for Knock Out trading I think banks do that intentionally and mental stopps are so difficult to handle. I think starting off with prop firms can be a great tool for a starter, personally for me I was having a lot of psychological and mental issues with risking my own money but being able to pay much less, like with the apex 90% sale 50k accs are only 16$, I was able to stay in trades and follow my plan and be more consistent because at the end of the day I’m only risking 16$

You need $500+ to trade the micros. You should do the mini contracts until your account grows more.
