Just finished getting all of my seals out on my johnson 30 lower unit and have a 25 up next. This video is excellent and helpful!

Great job I have used the tap method for a long time for that shift shaft, but use a metric size, only going partway down into the bushing. Now I just have to figure out how to install the transmission shift sleeve and detent balls. Yes I'll have to figure it out on my own. Thanks nice job.

Great video, but I do have a question, in order to remove the lower shift rod from the lower unit is it necessary to remove the split ring and the big washer? Thank you

Given your genius tapping method, what is the reason to remove he snap ring and plate around the prop shaft?

I did it only because I knew there was water in there and wanted to inspect the gears for rust. You would not have to do this just to replace the gear shift lever seal. Plus if the shift yoke moves you can line it back up with the plate removed.

Somewhere in my garage from hell I have a manual for this motor. I made a quick look and can't find it. If I locate it soon I will give you the exact specs. I usually just tighten them by feel but proper torque is better.

Do you have a video on replacing the throttle cable? Bout motor used and they had it rigged with the wrong throttle cable and I think I’m missing some parts

Wish I could help you out but I don't have any control boxes for this size motor.

No I’m talking about just from the tiller handle. More importantly the way it is routed and linked to the motor
