This movie is the definition of the word "masterpiece". Everything about it works perfectly. The conflict between Hiccup and Stoick is handled very well, the bonding between Hiccup and Toothless is perfectly paced, I love how much Toothless acts like a cat, and how all the dragons act like real animals, and the musical score and flying scenes are absolutely beautiful. I cannot give this movie enough praise. also theres a tv series 3 of them the main one called race to the edge which is widely considered better than the movies which is crazy because the movies are 10/10 and i agree pls watch the tv show

Man I remember watching these movies as a kid and absolutely loving it. That scene where Hiccup had to fly through the cliffs without the instruction paper still gives me goosebumps everytime with that ost. And the moment where Stoick says "You're not my son", nearly fainting after realizing what he just said still hits really hard , one of my favourite parts of the movie. It shows his regret and disbelief instantly, rather than just anger, that was an amazing way to truly show how much he cares for Hiccup.
Like Kung Fu Panda, this franchise also got a TV series set between the films. It features most of the Dragons from the book Hiccup read. The Bone Knapper was focused in a standalone special.

So There is a Special called "Legend of The Boneknapper" and it shows it, it is pretty good for a first special. Also was a sneak peek for the TV series.
Reason why they used Toothless instead of the other dragons is because he would know where it is. The Red Death can kinda control dragons with its roar, reason why Toothless reacted differently. Besides he can't fly.

Toothless is my favorite dragon of all time. 🐉 I always think of him as a big cat based on his behavior 😂. I think it’s ironic that both Hiccup and toothless lost one of their body part(hiccup lost his left leg and toothless lost his left tail fin)
