Hi there, thanks for watching! For todays video we will be reviewing my second favorite Guardians Of The Galaxy run which is by Brian Micheal Bendis. I admittedly am not the biggest Guardians fan but this was a run I was collecting in singles back in the day and remember enjoying myself a lot. This run highlight for me is the amount of characters introduced or used as new members of the team, Its keeps things fresh while also being a lot of fun. This is another book I’ve had for ages but haven’t gotten into yet. All the Guardian’s material I’ve read so far has been great. Gonna check this out soon.
It’s pretty fun! Love that it features some well known names in the roster to make it that much more exciting! Great follow up after realm of kings and the DNA run also!

read the donny cates run and the al ewing run, great guardians stories.
I have read those and still just not my cup of tea. If I’m honest a lot of the cosmic side of marvel isn’t exactly my cup of tea but I give all runs and stories a go and plan to return to a lot of the ones I didn’t enjoy. I notice as I get older I end up loving books I didn’t enjoy when I first read them at a younger age.

This is such an odd era for these characters.
I was not a fan of the Bendis era for the Guardians of the Galaxy, but I, like you, did love a majority of the artwork.
It just seemed like BMB had no direction or goal for his run.
It's a shame.
They also leave out the "The Black Vortex" crossover, which is an odd choice.
Hopefully, Volume 2, if Marvel ends up releasing one, they include that.

Yeah i for sure think the art and the cool roster pulled a lot of weight during this run.
I feel his main direction was to try and rebuilt what DNA left him with after the phenomenal run they had in the title which is borderline impossible but it was fun none the less. I do very much agree that the exclusion of the black vortex stuff was very odd and should of just been added. Not a fan of Omnibuses taking a fraction of a story because it features characters, seems pointless.
I hope we do get a volume 2, having a volume 1 and no continuation always hurts my soul.

It just feels like Bendis pre-Heroic Age 616 is a different style than during and after that period of time.
I even like the short-lived Duggan era more.
Everyone has their own tastes, and I will not judge anyone who likes something I do not.
Every experience could be someone's first, and every experience could be someone's favorite.
I did find it odd, though, that not only did Marvel not expand this but reprinted it period, considering it had been liquidated and shown up at Ollie's discounted pretty heavily.
I think a Cates and Ewing Guardians Omnibus with both their runs, as well as the Silver Surfer Black miniseries and the The Last Annihilation event, would have been great to have.
The thing I would like to see come out of this reprint is a Volume 2.
