Dave and Bill Mitchell was played by Kevin Kline. He has been in numerous movies, but the one I love is: A Fish Called Wanda. He whon a best supporting actor oscar for it. I would highly suggest that movie.
This movie has three academy award nominees:
Frank Langella (Richard Nixon in Frost/Nixon)
Sigourney Weaver (Support Actress - Working Girl)
Kevin Kline (Supporting actor - A Fish Called Wanda) he also won the award

You are possibly the first serious reactor to take this film on. Brilliant concept using very talented actors! I'm voicing my thoughts before I watch what I expect to be an enjoyable reaction. Footnote: the set used was constructed for the film The American President and went on to be used by the TV series West Wing. From the comments below you have some impressive suggestions to consider. For your analytical mind take on Stranger Than Fiction to react to. I have a very worthwhile subscription to your efforts and may there be many more...

This movie and The American President are two of my favorites. The American President is written by Aaron Sorkin who is also the creator of The West Wing and The Newsroom (two of my favorite TV series). Ben Stein, who you recognized from Ferris Bueller's Day Off actually served as a speechwriter for President Nixon and Ford before he moved on to acting. Thus, in that movie, he gave the economics lesson on the fly (it wasn't scripted as to what he would teach). He knows a great deal about economics and politics. So having him in the White House or Capitol is rather fitting. He would be right at home.

The presidential helicopter is Marine One, because it is a Marine aircraft, Air Force One is an Air Force aircraft. Technically, there could be a Navy One and Army One if necessary.
The "One" designation goes on any aircraft the President is on, not just the "official" ones.

Wag the Dog (1997), directed by Barry Levinson, who also directed Rainman and Good Morning, Vietnam, and starring everyone, including Robert DeNiro and Dustin Hoffman, is a great behind the scenes of politics movie. It's described as a political satire black comedy and that's pretty accurate. I very highly recommend it. OMG! Great film choice! This is such a sweet movie!
The President is played by Kevin Kline; he has a large filmic resume and any one of them is interesting and good.
The assistant Randi, tasked with finding a body double for the President (the woman he collapses on), is Laura Linney (played the 'wife' in "The Truman Show").
The baseball field is Camden Yards (Baltimore Orioles). Baltimore is the closest major baseball team to Washington, DC. (I used to live in Baltimore.)
The park across the street from the front of the White House is Lafayette Square. It's where Trump had protestors cleared out with tear gas in June 2020 before walking across the street for his photo op holding a bible upside down in front of St John's Church.
The conspiracy theorist guy trying to blow the whistle on the 'body double' thing is filmmaker Oliver Stone (also produced a great body of work and worth reacting to).
First of all, the Constitution requires the US president to be at least 35 years old (25 for Congress).
-Obama was 47; and if you saw his White House Correspondents' Dinner speeches, they were HYSTERICAL! Great timing, great delivery, could have been a standup star. One year, he included Keegan Michael-Key playing 'Luther', Obama's anger translator (it's on RUclips).
-Bill Clinton was 46 and had a great wit. He liked food, so was a bit chubby, but he was always out jogging and exercising, to try to keep the weight down.
-Jimmy Carter was 52; he exercised regularly, swimming and riding horses and fished creeks and rivers. He was credited with a great sense of humor.
-John F Kennedy was 43. He initiated and championed fitness in America through the President's Council on Physical Fitness. Public schools broke several times a week to do exercise. The whole Kennedy clan was known for their physical activities and team sports, and Kennedy for his humor. His presidency was considered youth-oriented and his administration referred to as Camelot (after the youthful and fabled King Arthur's court that united Britain).
-Theodore Roosevelt was 42. In spite of health issues as a child and young man, he enjoyed the out of doors, going hunting, camping, hiking, and riding horses. He was also very funny.

I'll answer a couple questions as best I can. A former president and first lady get secret service protection for life. If they have minor children, they get secret service protection to the age of 16.
They can decline protection if they choose.
It is not unusual for agents who have been protecting the first family to continue to protect them after they leave the white house.
I assume the agent at the end was assigned to protect the former first lady upon request.
Since Kennedy there have been rumors of a tunnel from the White House leading to outside the gate.
JFK supposedly used it to meet mistresses.
No one actually doubts this rumor, but I don't know if it's ever been verified.
It would be a state secret if there was.
Ben Stein was a Nixon speech writer before he became an actor

Released in 1993. Directed by Ivan Reitman (same director of Stripes and Ghostbusters I and II), and written by Gary Ross, who co-wrote "Big" with Tom Hanks and directed the first Hunger Games movie.
Dave was nominated for one Academy Award in 1993 - Best Original Screenplay for Gary Ross. It didn't win its nomination.
The set used for the White House has since been used in over twenty-five movies since its release, including The Pelican Brief and Clear and Present Danger.
Kevin Kline, who plays Dave/The President, later appeared as a dual role in "Wild Wild West" as the co-lead character and President Ulysses S. Grant.
Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, and Michael J. Fox were all considered for the role of Dave. Kevin Costner declined the role, as did Warren Beatty (James, I don't believe you've seen Beatty yet, but you have seen all the others).
Names that can be added to James' actor database after their second film (or more): Laura Linney as Randi (also in The Truman Show); Kevin Dunn as Alan Reed (also in Unstoppable as the railroad president); Stephen Root as Don Durenberger (O Brother Where Art Thou?, Office Space as Milton, Ghost, and Dodgeball); Ving Rhames (previously as Marsellus Wallace in Pulp Fiction). If I forgot anybody, let me know.
Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver later appeared in the 1997 film The Ice Storm.
Interestingly, Ben Kingsley (the Vice-President) is British.
Richard Donner (Superman, The Goonies, Lethal Weapon, and Scrooged) was offered the chance to direct, largely because his wife Lauren Shuler Donner had known Gary Ross since the 1970s and would be the producer. But he passed on it, and Shuler Donner had to wait a few years for Disney to release her from her contract.
Gary Ross gave then-President Bill Clinton a framed script, which Clinton later autographed, and he later gave Ross a picture of him holding a coffee mug with the word "Dave" on it.

JFK was very young, with a young First Lady and an atmosphere of youth, intelligence and energy permeated his speeches, his appearances and family events. The Kennedy clan was always involved in sports and outdoor activities. Clinton was also young, with a young Vice-President and would sometimes step outside the typical reserved role of a president by playing his saxophone or jogging. It is crucial for heads of state to present a mature demeanor to the world so publicly rolling on the ground with dogs might not be accepted well. But there were instances when most previous presidents publicly displayed friendly banter, sweet gestures to family, sincere and compassionate responses to citizens and the other characteristics that “Dave” showed.

Ben Kinglesy was the VEEP, and he's an Oscar winner. Perhaps his best work is the truly epic movie, Gandhi. Check it out. It's beautiful and great. The funeral procession was attended by 1,000,000 extras -- actual people, not CG.

The "little park across the street" from the White House is actually the Warner Ranch backlot in Burbank - with the White House inserted into the background. The fountain is the same one seen in the opening credits for "Friends". Regrettably the backlot was just recently demolished for redevelopment - although the fountain was saved and relocated to Warner's main studio a mile to the South. And , by the way, sometimes you "know" people from movies that you don't realize you know. For example, the bespectacled member of the president's cabinet was played by Parley Baer, the original voice of Ernie Keebler from the cookie commercials.

Kevin Kline most memorable in A Fish called Wanda, though my favourite roles of his are "In & Out, 1997" and " Life as a House, 2001". Always enjoy your reactions from way down south in Aotearoa New Zealand. Thanks for your light-hearted, gleeful, genuine reactions.

Kevin Kline is an actor to see more of. He's funny, charismatic, and has great chemistry with his co-stars. A few top picks -
    French Kiss, with Meg Ryan
Road to El Dorado (animated), with Kenneth Branagh (director of Thor) and music by Elton John
In & Out - save for pride month 😉

Edited from Wikipedia to answer your question of who the real man is:
Ben Stein an American writer, lawyer, actor, comedian, and commentator on political and economic issues. He began his career as a speechwriter for U.S. presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford before entering the entertainment field as an actor, comedian, and game show host. He is best known on screen as the economics teacher in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, as the host of Win Ben Stein's Money, and as Dr. Arthur Neuman in The Mask and Son of the Mask. Stein is the son of economist and writer Herbert Stein, who worked at the White House under President Nixon. As a character actor he is well known for his droning, monotonous delivery. In comedy, he is known for his deadpan delivery.

*Kindergarten Cop* with 'Ahnold' is a bit different than his usual role.
*Searching for Bobby Fischer* with Ben Kingsley (the VP) is based on a true story about a chess prodigy.

Dang, Kevin Kline...! Haven't thought about him in ages. He was a major major A-lister back in the day, where the heck did he go?! (Please don't tell me he died or something, that would suck.)
The "I once caught a fish THIIIIISSS big" scene I still remember back from when I first saw a trailer at the movies for this movie.
