Thanks for sharing your many styles.. I'm a fan of Johnnie Johnson... quite a fellow... and basically wrote the book on r'n roll piano... cheers from Mexico!
Thank you sir! I truly appreciate this tutorial, with your sincere, genuine advice of the importance of learning slower over a longer period of time than we would like to think. This is very helpful and gives me hope. Real good teaching!
I'm pretty sure that's the lick Johnnie used on the original recording of Sweet Lil Sixteen at 1:40 into his piano solo. Such a subtle change from the earlier classic Pine Top Boogie lick to adapt it up to a speedy riff and make it sound scintillating. Even though I was friend's with Johnnie for 40 years on and off and helped to make it possible for him to get his style recorded with a Homespun Tapes video tutorial, I never could pick up that lick and you're sharing with us is a real treat. Johnnie was a salt of the earth guy & a monster rock and blues pianist who helped shape early rock 'n' roll in the '50's w/Chuck Berry.
Hello! Yes that's the one. It's a great lick. Thanks for your comment and please send me an email henriherbert.hh@gmail.com i'd love to hear more about the great man.
@@HenriHerbert88 Emailed you and subscribed to your channel. I have a RUclips Johnnie Johnson tutorial video on a riff of his also, listed as 12 - Johnnie Johnson run in G, going to C, under the alias starboy288
I've got it. I hope I have! Nice and slowly is the trick. The left had counts....... + 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 etc. And the right hand..... 1 e + 2 e + 3 e + 4 e +. Many thanks Henri, I wish I could afford to give you lots of money. Your lessons are very valuable.

Question - where is the count of 1 on the left hand pattern please?
I've got it. I hope I have! Nice and slowly is the trick.
The left had counts.......
+ 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 etc.
And the right hand.....
1 e + 2 e + 3 e + 4 e +.

Mr. Henry is it played 2 to 1?
"just spend a week just doing that" Truth is harsh sometimes.
